1 Minutes of a meeting of Eye Parish Council held in the Leeds Hall, High Street, Eye on Thursday 20 th March 2014 at 7pm. Coun D Mckeand and Coun D Sanders. 22) Policing Matters Ecops Flood Alert Concern expressed that it was announced on the radio yesterday that the B1040 was now open but it actually wasn t. The road closure is the responsibility of Peterborough City Council. Incidents of anti-social behaviour within the village at the Leeds Hall and the Community Centre. Some of the youngsters involved do not live in the village. CCTV can greatly help. The lights on the Larkfleet development keep getting vandalised. Clerk to contact Larkfleet to ask if the types of light changed to those that are vandal proof. Motobikes/quad bikes a nuisance around Tintern Rise and Hodney Road. 25 crimes reported this month including 2 thefts from vehicles, theft of diesel, 2 tyres slashed and a smashed window. The recent high winds resulted in 12 calls to the police to assist with roads/traffic. Digital speed signs to be erected on Thorney Road and Eyebury Road. These will require batteries to be recharged. The exact siting to be agreed. The police have been conducting speed checks in the village 5 motorists have been caught travelling over 35mph.

At the recent meeting with the City Council concerning S106 money it was said that remodelling is to take place at junction 20 which will assist HGV vehicles and the 7.5tonne weigh limit near to the Garden Park will reviewed then. PCC Consultation on the Peterborough City Centre Plan closes 6 th March ) Boundary Commission Electoral Review of Peterborough responses required by 1 st April The Chairman will read this and the Parish Council want to see Eye Green included in Eye Villge.

4 29) Eye Primary School They will now be only 58 pupils starting school in September so it will not be necessary to build new classrooms at this time. 30) Cemetery Report Due to the recent wet weather there have been problems with flooding in the new burial area. One grave in particular has been affected and the family have complained. The cemetery committee have visited and is liaising with the landscape gardener. He will put in top soil and do all the remedial work necessary to hopefully prevent a reoccurrence in the future. To do this the water levels must subside. This has been explained to the bereaved family on several occasions. Mr Smith has look at the tree report. There are 2 or 3 trees in the cemetery that do require attention within the next 3 months and before the bird nesting season. The oak in the churchyard needs branches removing. The clerk will obtain quotes for these works. A complaint was received from a householder in Bath Road about an overhanging poplar tree of approx 50ft high. Mr Smith has looked at this and the advice of the Tree Officer at the City Council is to be sought. 31) Allotments Nothing to report 32) Transport, Roads and Footpaths Disability Access Audit completed in Eye Village. Noted PCC Notification of new parking restriction along Crowland Rd, Newstead Close and Verde Close from 14 th April Noted. The drains in Crowland Road opposite number 9 are blocked. The clerk will report. The problem with the drains near the church in the High Street has not recurred. Thory lorries were using Eyebury Road to access the A47. Mr Short contacted the company and the police and Mr Butterwick obtained photographic proof that this happened even tough there is a 7.5tonne limit and during the school day. 33) Leeds Hall, Recreation Ground and Amenities Leeds Hall Consideration of applying for Grant funding to fit a new roof to the hall. A local builder consulted and his report suggests that we have a couple of areas opened up to fully check underneath and then a proper estimate can be given for what is required. New tall fridge needed for the Leeds Hall kitchen. Mr Short will look into. Eye United FC Verbal request for the Parish Council to put up their nets and mark out the pitches. Await further contact from them

5 The clerk will check pitch hire fees for the City Council pitches. The clerk will arrange for the Pavilion boiler to be serviced. 34) Environmental Matters Nothing to report 35) Other Correspondence Rosemary Robson, Eye Sewing Group Letter from this newly formed group requesting a donation from the Parish Council to assist with initial costs of iron etc. Request refused MAGPAS Request for a donation. Request refused. PCC Infrastrure Review Meeting 26 th February 2014 at 7pm Bedford Hall, Thorney. Date to be changed.
