1 2018/2019 The East of Scotland Beekeepers Association is a local organisation open to all beekeepers but especially to those in Tayside and Angus. It provides a meeting point for beekeepers and a presence at local shows. The association exists to support bees and beekeepers, to improve standards of beekeeping and to provide a source of information about bees to the general public and interested organisations. The E.S.B.A. organises the following for its members: - Evening lecture series over the winter Beginners & improvers classes in spring Summer apiary demonstrations Mentoring of beginners Access to the association s library If you are interested in joining the E.S.B.A. and/or becoming a beekeeper please the secretary at the address below or contact any member of the association for further details. 3 BEGINNERS CLASSES Venue: TBC All Classes Start at 7.00 pm Tuesday 26th February 2019 Tuesday 12th March 2019 Tuesday 19th March 2019 Tuesday 26th March 2019 Apiary Visits will be arranged for those enrolled in the beginners classes. They are normally held on a Saturday (weather dependent) during April/May (specific dates and times to be confirmed). We are often asked what books we would recommend for the beginner. There is a wealth of bee keeping literature available but for anyone new to beekeeping we would suggest the following: Haynes Bee Manual by Claire & Adrian Waring Guide to Bees & Honey by Ted Hooper Please also note that if you become a member of E.S.B.A. you will have access to our library (see the archive page on our website).
