1 Our philosophy at Scott Dunn is that it s really only a holiday when everyone in your family has been catered for. That s why we introduced Explorers Kids Clubs in 2001, after many parents in our team identified that the traditional hotel offering could be made so much better. Our aim has always been to lead the field in holiday childcare by providing the very best in new and memorable experiences for both children and parents. When we have children begging to go back for more the following day, it s by far the best measure of success. Hidden in a quiet corner of the resort, our Scott Dunn Explorers kids club at Pine Cliffs is based in two luxury ground floor residences that have been transformed into fantastic spaces for children of all ages. Just a short walk from the Residences, it s the perfect place for our younger guests to make friends and experience new activities.

Activities Each age group has its own dedicated room full of toys and creative games, whilst outside, there s a good sized, safe, fenced play area for the younger children.

There s a dedicated sleep room for those who need a nap during the day, and the older children have their very own chill out room. Our team of qualified nannies and rangers tailor makes daily activity programmes for each age group, taking advantage of the resort s facilities and the many off-site opportunities. Our older guests can have a tennis or golf lesson with a pro, or spend an afternoon go-karting, learning the art of archery or maybe a round of mini golf. Our Adventurers also get the chance at Pine Cliffs to have tennis lessons from a pro. There are trips to the nearby Slide and Splash Waterpark, Zoo Marine, Aquashow or Krazy World, whilst the little ones are taken on ice cream adventures or down to the beach. Rides around the resort on the miniature train are always a firm favourite with our Globetrotters and Adventurers, and there s no end to the list of creative activities from mask making to sand sculpting. During peak season, the kids club organises events two evenings per week, with tea provided, for Pioneers (8 13 years). From pizza and quiz nights to movies and munchies, these evenings give them the chance to spend more time with their new friends and enjoy a little bit of independence. Opening times and costs The Explorers kids club is open from May half term to the end of September, six days a week (closed Saturday) from 10am to 6pm, with healthy and appetising lunches and snacks provided each day. Globetrotters 300 Adventurers 250 Voyagers 250 Pioneers 250 Children between the ages of 4 months and 7 years enrolled in the Globetrotters, Adventurers and Voyagers can be provided with an optional high tea each evening. Babysitting Our childcare team offers a babysitting service in the evenings (except Friday and Saturday) at a rate of 20 for the first hour and 10 per hour thereafter until midnight, when a charge of 20 will apply. Babysitting can be provided two nights per week, whilst any additional nights are subject to availability.

We recommend booking lunch and dinner, especially during peak periods, which is easily done through the concierge service. Room service is available 24 hours a day. And an ice cream or a drink is never far away at the Beach Bar. The resort s landscaping offers plenty of space in which to run around, whilst the Porto Pirata playground with its bouncy castle, mini golf and two small pools, fuels even the youngest imagination. What to pack We ve made sure that our Explorers kids clubs have everything you need. Fresh purées are made each day for our youngest guests, so there s no need to stock up on bottles and sachets, and we also provide a rash vest and sun hat. Nappies are available for children enrolled in the Explorers Kids Club, during club hours, whilst we can organise further supplies at other times for an additional charge. Travelling from Lisbon will take up to 2.5 hours. The children had never experienced a kids club quite like it: so many activities and so much fun. Our son was blown away by his trip to Zoo Marine to see the dolphins and sea lions and it was a delight to see him so happy afterwards telling us all about it.
