1 Welcome to AFUSA The Atlanta Fire United Soccer Association as well as the U-15 Silver team would like to welcome you and your team to our club and our facilities.

5 1 Welcome to AFUSA The Atlanta Fire United Soccer Association as well as the U-15 Silver team would like to welcome you and your team to our club and our facilities. The intent of the packet is not to educate anyone about our club, but to make your visit easy and enjoyable. Atlanta Fire United Soccer Association provides several locations for their teams to host games. These locations include George Pierce Park (in Suwanee), Bunten Road Park (in Duluth), E. E. Robinson Park (in Buford), and Scott Hudgen Park (in Duluth). This specific packet is intended from teams travelling to EE Robinson Park. If your game with our club is not at EE Robinson Park, please request another packet that is tuned for the field that you are playing on. 2 Welcome to EE Robinson Park (EER) EE Robinson Park is located about 35 miles northeast of Atlanta. It is approximately 8 miles from I-85 and 1 mile from downtown Sugar Hill. Figure 1 shows where the park is relative to the state of Georgia. Figure 1 EE Robinson Park statewide view EE Robinson Park is the home of most of the Academy teams. Older teams may play at this facility once the Academy season ends The park is a general purpose park housing baseball, volleyball, tennis and soccer fields. The pavilion has city restrooms, and no real concession stand. 11/7/2006 1

3 Getting to EE Robinson Park This packet is intended for teams that are travelling a fair distance to the park. For the teams travelling a ways, I-85 is the best avenue to the park.

Whether you are coming in from the northeast or southwest on I-85, exit 111 is the exit to take to get to EE Robinson Park. Figure 2, diagrams a local view of the area surrounding EE Robinson Park. 8 4 EE Robinson Park EE Robinson Park is used for many purposes. Figure 4, is a map of EE Robinson Park and all the fields within the park. This shows how to get to the soccer field. After entering the park, you will continue on the entrance road and take right when the road forks. The road will continue down a hill and bend to the left into a dead end parking lot. Atlanta Fire United Soccer Association has a web page This should have directions to all the parks within the Atlanta Fire United Soccer Association. There are maps and links to Atlanta Fire United Soccer Association using the Georgia State Soccer Association web page If the any fields are closed due to either inclement weather or unplayable fields, AFUSA has a phone number to get a recording of the field status ( ). If the fields are closed, this recording will explicitly state which fields on which day. If you believe the fields are closed, please give me a call. If I find out that the fields are closed I will call you as soon as I find out. 6 Local Points of Interest There are two malls within 15 miles of EE Robinson Park. To the southwest, at Exit 104, (Pleasant Hill Road) you can find Gwinnett Place Mall. Within a half mile of this mall will be any type of cuisine, shopping, and lodging you may be interested in. To the northeast, at Exit 120, (GA 20) you can find the Mall of Georgia. Again, within about ½ mile of this exit, you should be able to find any type of cuisine, shopping, and lodging you may be interested in. 11/7/2006 5
