2 Brazil's Location The Brazilian territory has a great extension with wide terrestrial and maritime borders. It is therefore considered a country with continental dimensions.

3 Regional Divisions The Brazilian territory is divided into states, besides being regionalized, that is, divided into Regions. Brazil is divided into five Regions, this configuration was proposed by IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics) since 1970, with an amendment in 1988, when Tocantins was dismembered from Goiás, becoming an autonomous state.

4 Brazilian Northeast The Northeast Region is formed by nine coastal states and occupies an area of 1,554,291,607 km2, equivalent to 18.27% of the Brazilian territory.

5 Location of Sergipe The State of Sergipe has an area of 21,918,354 km2 that houses 75 municipalities, together, according to the 2010 Population Survey conducted by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), 2,068,017 inhabitants. The natives of this state are called sergipanos.

6 Location of Aracaju The city has approximately 630 thousand inhabitants and is located on the coast of Sergipe. The climate is hot and humid, with rainy season from March to August.

10 Economy of Sergipe The cultivation of sugarcane in Sergipe is an economic activity with a long history in the Brazilian Northeast. Its production is concentrated in the municipalities of Laranjeiras, Riachuelo, Areia Branca, Siriri, Maruim, Rosario do Catete, Nossa Senhora das Dores and Chapel. Recently, municipalities such as Muribeca, Aquidabã, Japoatã and Neópolis also started to develop the culture. In the last six years, the Sergipe economy has taken a quantitative and qualitative leap. Besides the growth based on the economic evolution of the country and the State, the industrial park was renewed, increasing the total number of companies, as well as the areas of operation. Between 2007 and 2013, the State received a total of 103 companies, which resulted in an investment of more than R$ 723 million and generated more than 11,400 direct jobs.

11 Tourism Serra de Itabaiana National Park is a conservation unit located in the municipality of Itabaiana, state of Sergipe, Brazil. It also covers areas of the municipalities of Areia Branca, Laranjeiras, Itaporanga d'ajuda and Campo do Brito. It has an area of 7,966 hectares, of which only 3.5% are regularized. It is administered by the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio). In Aracaju, historic monuments contrast with modern buildings, local fairs, large malls with a wide variety of products, boardwalks and sports parks offer good spaces for sportsmen, Regional and contemporary restaurants share customers, sea and rivers live close together, giving a special touch to the city's landscapes.

13 Tourism The Metropolitan Cathedral is the main church of Aracaju and is located in the Plaza Olímpio Campos, Historic Center of Aracaju, surrounded by the Teófilo Dantas Park. It was built in the 60's and inaugurated in 1875 with the name Mother Church of Our Lady of the Conception. In 1910, it became a Cathedral. 14 Culture The Dance of the Ribbon, an ancient manifestation of European origin, settled in our country in the southern states, through immigrants in the last century.
