1 Miss Basketball Shootout Featuring 96 High School Teams June 9-10, Kearney, Neb. I would like to invite your program to join nearly 100 teams from across Nebraska & surrounding states for the 2018 Miss Basketball Shootout. The Shootout offers a unique team camp format that has made it the most popular event in the Midwest! Teams play three pool play games the first day, followed by three tournament games on the second day. With regular stop clock rules, your team will have more real game situations and play teams not on your regular season schedule when they compete in the Shootout. The Miss Basketball Shootout offers a 5 game guarantee, outstanding facilities, organization, experienced officiating crew and more. Our central location allows us to draw teams from all parts of Nebraska, and a number of out-ofstate teams take part each year. Large & Small School Varsity & JV Divisions! The Shootout offers separate divisions for large and small schools to provide the most competitive summer experience. There is also a division for junior varsity and 9th-grade-to-be teams. Real game situations! We play four-8 minute stop-clock quarters, with the clock stopping on all whistles, just like the real season. No running clocks! 5+ game guarantee! All teams play 5 regulation games, with 3 pool games on Saturday, followed by 2 tournament games on Sunday. Unbeatable facilities! The new Kearney High School offers 3 air conditioned courts, along with great facilities at KCHS and Sunrise Middle School. New competition! We draw teams of all sizes from all parts of Nebraska and surrounding states! Play teams that are not on your regular season schedule! Experienced officials! We hire and pay only NSAA registered and certified officials. We have referees that come to Kearney to work from as far as Omaha, Columbus and the North Platte area, including several state tournament officials. Teams will be billed for the balance. The deposit counts as one player paid and the balance will be due May 8. Schedules are posted on our website in mid-may. Tournament Entry Fee The entry fee is $48 per player, with a minimum of 8 players highly recommended. Complimentary Miss Basketball T-shirt For Each Team Coach! Housing Arrangements We have secured room blocks at a large number of motels in Kearney for teams & parents. Refer to the next page for a list of properties, amenities and rates. Room blocks are released 30 days prior to the event, so make sure you get your reservations made early! 3 New Courts At KHS! We are excited to have 3 new air conditioned courts at the brand new Kearney High School! We also have air conditioned courts at KCHS and Sunrise Middle School! DAVE LICARI We have attended the Miss Basketball Shootout for the past six years. Some years we have entered both a varsity and a jv group. I believe that it has helped to improve our program. The format lends itself to playing games against teams of your caliber, the referees are of higher quality than any other camps we attend, and the regulation length games are much better than a running clock. I would recommend the Shootout to anyone who has not attended and is looking for a good team camp. BROCK EICHELBERGER We wanted to thank you for a wonderful time at Miss Basketball in Kearney. Your camp was VERY organized, had exception competition, good facilities and the playing sites were very convenient to get to between games. 5 Miss Basketball Shootout 2018 Motel Information I have secured room blocks at several motels for teams and parents during the Mr. Basketball Slamfest & Miss Basketball Shootout team camps. All of the motels are in the same general vicinity, only 5-10 minutes from the gyms. They are within walking distance of restaurants and entertainment. Coaches are encouraged to copy this form for parents who will be attending the tournament. Kearney motels will be very close to being sold out these weekends and rooms should be reserved as soon as possible. These room blocks will be released 30 days before the events. If you have any problems making reservations, don t hesitate to contact Doug Koster at doug@misterbasketball.com for assistance.
