Greetings Gums Family: We trust and pray this correspondence finds you and your family well, uplifted and enjoying the blessings of God through His Son, Jesus Christ. First and foremost, always giving honor, glory, and praise to God; thanking Him for allowing us to celebrate another year of family and heritage. We are very pleased to announce that the 2017 Gums Family Reunion will be held in our beautiful home state of Louisiana, Saturday, July 1 st through Tuesday, July 4 th, 2017! This is one reunion you don t want to miss! Our Committee members have worked diligently to plan a joyous and memorable weekend, filled with activities and entertainment that all will enjoy. Join us as we celebrate one another and maintain our spirit of unity, love, and fellowship as a family. We pray that our reunion will be a time of remembering, rejoicing, recreating, renewing, but, more importantly, reuniting. That s what it s all about; bringing family together! We have all information set up on the family reunion website, which we encourage everyone to visit and pass along to as many family members as possible. 3 Family Reunion Events TENTATIVE SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES AND INFORMATION 2017 Gums Family Business Meeting Saturday, July 1, 2017 Where: VFW Post W VFW Dr. Crowley, LA Business Meeting: Time: 10:00 a.m. 1:00p.m. The reunion committee and officers will hold reunion Business Meeting from 10a-1p Gums Family Reunion Gala Banquet (DJ) Saturday, July 1, 2017 Where: VFW Post W VFW Dr. Crowley, LA Room: Ballroom Time: 6:00 p.m. 1:00 a.m. As the day draws to an end, find your best black/white attire - formal or semiformal evening outfit and be prepared for an evening of fellowship as we reflect over our family s history and the memorable moments from this extraordinary weekend. Enjoy a formal dinner and program, followed by a showcase of talented family members which is sure to please! This is a BYOB event. Mask contest 2017 Gums Family Church Service & Free Day Activity Sunday, July 2, 2017 Where: Israelite Baptist Church 428 W 5 th St. Crowley, LA Time: 11:00 a.m. - May God allow us to continue our reunion festivities by joining hands in prayer at Israelite Baptist Church in Crowley, LA. The family that prays together, stays together! After worship and praise, Sunday will be a free day of activity for reunion attendees. I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord (Psalm 122:1) All are invited to join us for a Sunday Praise and Worship Service. Pastor presiding.

4 2017 Gums Family Casino Bus Trip (Age 21 & Above) Monday, July 3, 2017 Where: Cypress Bayou Casino, Charenton, LA Time: 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Family members who wish to go on the casino bus trip meet at the following location (5525 Cameron St (Scott, LA). The bus will be leaving at 9:00a so please be at the meeting stop at least by 8:30a.m. We will have 5 hours of play time upon arriving at the casino. The bus will depart from the casino on schedule and return to the meeting location Gums Family Youth Outing Monday, July 3, 2017 (Youth Chaperone s will be made available for parents that want to attend the casino bus trip) Youth activities will be planned for ages 4-18 while the parents enjoy an outing at the casino. The cost associated with the outing will be approximately $25 per youth. It s guaranteed to be a fun filled day w/lunch provided. More information to come Gums Family Fish Fry & Cookout (Family Camp Gueydan, LA) Tuesday, July 4, 2017 Where: Family Camp 1007 McMurtry St. Gueydan, LA Time: 10:00 a.m Until We re heading to Gueydan, LA for the family Fish Fry and Cookout! Bring your lawn chairs, coolers, grills, and favorite dishes. This will be a BYOB event. We will have a DJ on site, Fun jump & cotton candy machine for the kids. This is an opportunity to mix, mingle, and create great family memories before we say farewell.

9 Family Reunion Registration & Fees The Finance Committee has worked diligently to keep the registration fees as affordable as possible while maintaining a quality event. Your advance payment is appreciated in order for us to efficiently and effectively plan and prepare for this grand occasion and for your arrival Reunion Registration Information Besides the obvious task of making travel arrangements to attend the Gums Family Reunion, there are three (3) independent steps required to officially register: Submit full payment of Reunion Fees by the deadline date (May 31, 2017). Submit completed Reunion Registration Form by the deadline (May 31, 2017). Reserve your guest room(s) at the Holiday Inn by the deadline date (if applicable) or reserve room at hotel of choice.
