5 3. Deployment 3.1 Introduction In 2020, the Cunard fleet will travel over 169,000 nautical miles visiting incredible places across Europe and around the globe. The most famous Ocean Liners in the world will call at 110 destinations in 34 different countries, including 14 overnight stays, 19 late evening departures and 8 new maiden calls for our current fleet. Each voyage, whether it is a 2 night short break or a 40 night Grand Voyage, aims to ensure guests feel inspired, feel special and feel free. For details see Program Highlights. Distinction Cunard s deployment helps to set the brand apart by offering voyages that are unique: Cunard is the only cruise company to offer a regular service of Transatlantic Crossings including 19 Transatlantic Crossings (see Transatlantic Crossings) within the 2020 product launch. Cunard consistently operates full day calls in ports throughout all of our voyages. Over 86% of all our port calls on voyages in 2020 stretch from 9am to 5pm or longer, with the average time in port being 10 and a half hours. Balance Our research has shown that it is important to strike the right balance between port days and sea days on any cruise. Days at sea are important on a Cunard voyage because the ships themselves are destinations. Our itineraries have been designed to offer enriching days in port as well as plenty of time on board for guests to relax and enjoy all the ships have to offer. The majority of cruises in 2020 have a sea day on the first day after embarkation so that guests can settle in and familiarize themselves with the ship; most also have a sea day on the day before disembarkation to allow guests time to unwind before returning home. 11 Asia, Australia, and Australasia QUEEN ELIZABETH Continuing with the exciting new voyage types first introduced in 2019, our intrepid voyager, Queen Elizabeth, will continue to roam among far flung and beloved destinations to bring our guests a taste of the exotic in Fall Starting in September, Queen Elizabeth will embark on three roundtrip voyages from Tokyo as well as Grand Voyages that cover the North Pacific, East Asia and Australia. This includes our Flagship Collection of hotels featuring stays at exceptional properties. All of our packages include accommodation, local taxes and fees and luggage porterage as well as 24 hour access to our local representatives in case of emergency. Transfers between the airport, hotel and ship, as well as breakfasts are also included unless stated otherwise. For London hotels, stays include group transfers between the airport, hotel and your ship, berthed in Southampton (approximately 80 miles away). 16 5. The Cunard CompleteAir Program Make it a truly relaxing vacation by letting Cunard handle all the details. The Cunard CompleteAir program offers guests and their travel agents an experience similar to other automated air booking websites, but with flights tailored specifically to their cruise. All available flights can be reviewed in real time and the desired time, carrier, number of stops, and class of service will be confirmed upon booking. We cannot guarantee that seat selection will be available, as that is controlled by the airlines. The Cunard CompleteAir program features no customization fees. Customized flight itineraries are available to all guests. Guests have the freedom to choose their air carrier, flight schedule, and class of service without incurring a separate charge. All guests who book air travel through Cunard will be automatically enrolled in the Cunard Late Arrival Protection program (not applicable for Transatlantic Crossings). If guests miss or will miss their original port of embarkation due to airline delay or an airline service disruption, such as flight cancellation or flight re routes, Cunard will do what we can to work with the airlines to find a reasonable alternative to provide flights to the next appropriate port at no additional air cost to the guest. If for any reason your cruise arrives late into port or your Cunard transfer is delayed to the airport and you miss your return flight, Cunard will work with the airline to rebook your flights to get you home. All calculations will be based on the cruise fare including NCF. All third and fourth guests pay the same fare with the exception of infants occupying an upper berth.
