KEVIN f Growing up in Edmonton it was unavoidable that hockey would be a part of Kevin Primeau's life. From the developing skills in the backyard rink to playing at aprofessional level then continuing to coaching in the NHL with the Edmonton Oilers, hockey has always been his number one passion. For the past 40 years, he has competed and coached at all levels: NHL, Olympics, World Championships, Profesional Leagues in Europe and Japan. Ironically helping with the Coyotes is his first Junior experience. His involvement with hockey has provided many opportunities to give back to the communities he was part of. Kevin was co-chairman, with Charlie Huddy, for the Kidney Foundation in Edmonton. Together, they helped organize numerous golf tournaments and charity events, raising significant dollars to support the organization. Consistently, as either a player or coach, Kevin participates in multiple charity events each year, giving his time and resources to help various causes important to the community. As an Alumni ofthe NHL, Edmonton Oilers, Vancouver Canucks, and Olympian, he is often called upon to attend charity events throughout Alberta and British Columbia. Retiring from coaching, the demands on his time changed and as a business leader within the town Osoyoos, the timing is right for Kevin to use his connections and relationships to develop j event to benefit the town of Osoyoos and the charities within the community.
GORD BMFOR Australian-born &Alberta-raised, Gord Bamford -one of the most decorated artists in Canadian country music with an impressive 24 Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) awards, multijuno nominations and the only two-time winner ofnashville's Country Music Association(CMA) receiving the 2013 &2015 CMA Global Country Artist award. Itis his distinctive sound and songwriting ability that defines Gord Bamford as one of country music's best. He has spent the last 20 years honing his craft, working to get where he is today. GORD BAMFORD GIVES BACK Gord is a manwho believes with his whole heart in giving back.the Gord Bamford Foundation has generated over $3 million since its inception in 2008 to children's charities such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, Big Brothers &Big Sisters, numerous children's' hospital across Canada and MusiCounts. "Those organizations have impacted on my life," says Gord. "That's why we do what we do. It's always great to get out play music beon stage and wake up every morning loving what Ido. But probably the greatest thing Iget to do is interact with alot of children and try to make a difference in their lives. It's hard to comprehend, but it's an awesome thing to see akid's face light up who is sick and telling them, their wish go to Disneyland if fulfilled. It puts it all into perspective as to why Ithink God put me on earth to do whati do because it'shelping other people." That humble, likeable approach iswhat continues to draw legions of new fans to Gord Bamford. But it's the music that keeps them loyal. Gord Bamford has the amazing ability to evolve, sense where his fans want to go, and take us all alona with him. 3 nsnynns-isi annual
WHUT IS STICKS & Charity hockey games and charity golf tournaments have been taking part separately for many years. This two day event will be the first time the two events will marry together. The vision is to create a unique world-class, FUNdraising eventwhich will benefit the town of Osoyoos and local and South Okanagan charities. As the Gord Bamford Foundation has seen with their Alberta based event, now in their 11th year, know Gord's desire to give back will ensure the annual impact will happen for years to come. After the hockey equipment is left to dry and golf clubs are tucked away, the event will be closed out with a star-studded concert to bring this signature event to a close with a bang! The event date for this year is May 16-17, For the inaugural first year, the eventwill involveboth the Edmonton Oiler & Vancouver Canuck Alumni along with some ofthe top-rated Canadian County Music Artists. The goal for the future events is to expand to include the Calgary Flames Alumni and the Canadian Olympic Hockey Alumni. nsoyoos-ist ANNUAL
What does an NHL Alumni &an Award-winning Canadian Country Music Artist have in common? Both share the passion for the game of hockey, love of music and adesire to make adifference for communities. The result is aunique world-class event that encompasses hockey, golf and music over two days inosoyoos, British Columbia. Alberta Born and now Osoyoos resident, Kevin Primeau set aname for himself as amember of the University of Alberta Golden Bears, Olympian, playing for Team Canada and NHL player. Kevin still maintains astrong relationship with his old hockey teams, as an active Alumni of the Edmonton Oilers and the Vancouver Canucks. Kevin's life experiences provide him with unique opportunities and connections. NHL Alumni have along history of recognizing and working with charitable organizations to raise dollars to benefit communities and their members. Kevin is doing just that by using his connections to both the Canucks and Oilers Alumni to bring these two teams together for the Inaugural Sticks & Pics. HOW DID THIS PARTNERSHIP HAPPEN Several years ago, Kevin participated in acharity event hosted by Gord Bamford. The event brought together some of the top country music artists who had apassion for playing hockey and high profile hockey players who had apassion for music. The success of that event is the foundation for this evolution of Sticks and Pics. Fast forward to the present date, Gord and Kevin reconnected. They are thrilled to have hockey stars and music stars join together with acommon goal ofraising funds to help charities increase the impact ofthe Gord Bamford Foundation. nsnvoos-isi annual

Osoyoos Gift Cupboard We are asking today for a grant of$2, for the year In this past year the Gift Cupboard has provided over $3, worth ofsupplies, plus distributed approximately $2, worth ofclothing and bedding provided by private donation. This includes helping families and individuals that have suffered loss from fire or misadventure and families needing help at Christmas as well as through the gift cupboard itself. We have been able to do this thanks to grants from the Town ofosoyoos, the Osoyoos Credit Union and donations from local businesses, as well as from private individuals. There are drop boxes is several businesses where donations to the Gift Cupboard can be made. Items we have received include clothing new and used, as well as food. We have also received donations ofnew items that were auctioned offto raise always needed funds. Food received has been given to the food bank as we do not have the means to deal with such items. Goods which we did not pass on to those in need we sold at a yard sale or through online auction. We are pleased with the level ofcommunity involvement we are seeing. The younger Elementary School students had a sock drive while the older students did a door to door food and mitt, toque and scarfdrive. One ofthe donations made this past year was a large number ofballs ofvarious sizes and colours ofyarn. Thanks to several ladies these were turned into scarves which were provided to people who needed them. We have also received donations from some ofthe visitors to Osoyoos, one ofwhich was from a mother who appreciated the help her son received while travelling through Osoyoos.
There is an obvious need in Osoyoos for the services the Gift Cupboard is providing. We wish to thank the Council for its support in the past, and look forward to its continued support. Thankyou for giving the Gift Cupboard the opportunity to make this request for your support.
OSOYOOS & DISTRICT MUSEUM AND ARCHIVES REQUEST TO OSOYOOS TOWN COUNCIL FOR A GRANT INCREASE The current annual grant to the Osoyoos Museum Society is $51,000. The amount has remained unchanged since Immediately following the successful referendum to purchase the property occupied by Home Building Centre as the new home for the museum in 2011, the OMS made the commitment not to ask for additional financial support from the Town. This was done because there was an honest belief at that time that the OMS would gain possession of the property within two to two-and-a-half years and that the new location would enhance revenues from admissions and render the OMS eligible for provincial support funding for museums in the order of $25,000 per year. (The museum is currently ineligible for such funding in its current location due to the condition of the building and the lack of protection for its artifacts.) When Home Builders announced in 2012 that it planned to extend its lease to the maximum allowable (five years, or until October 1, 2016), the OMS stuck by its original commitment. In 2015, when the lease to Home Building Centre was further extended to December 31, 2019, the OMS reaffirmed its original commitment. In the interim, we have continued to pare costs, apply for a variety of grants and shift resources within our annual budget to make ends meet but still ensure fresh, attractive exhibits and extended service in the community while planning ahead on the new museum project. Now that we are two years from possession of the new facility and activities are ramping up on both the new exhibit development and fundraising efforts, we need to increase our staff capacity in order to be successful and avoid burning out our Curator/Executive Director. To this end, we are looking to add a Museum Assistant position in order to acquire the knowledge, skills and time required to do what needs to be done. In developing the OMS budget for 2018, we managed to make further adjustments within existing resources for part of what we need but find ourselves short of the total amount required. Therefore, we are hoping the Town of Osoyoos will give consideration to releasing us from our original commitment made in 2011 and consider granting an increase in our annual grant in Ideally, we are hoping that the Town of Osoyoos would consider an increase of $5,000 in our annual grant bringing it to $56,000. (We will also be asking the RDOS Area "A" Director to consider an increase to the RDOS grant which is based on a percentage of the Town Grant.) These increases would give us the additional budgetary abilityto hire a fulltime Museum Assistant at $20,000 per annum which would clearly increase our capacity to improve of collections management, develop new exhibits and plan for the new museum in Mat Hassen, President, Osoyoos Museum Society OSOYOOS MUSEUM SOCIETY 19 Park Place Box 791 Osoyoos.
