17 More Outdoor Adventures When girls spend quality time outdoors and increase their exposure to nature, they thrive physically, emotionally, and intellectually. It s a win-win! Our Girl Scout volunteers, often experienced Girl Scouts themselves, pour their heart and soul into passing on valuable Girl Scout traditions, providing outdoor experiences by way of skill-building competitions, sailing, canoeing, and flag folding just to name a few. At Girl Scouts of Orange County, we are fortunate to have the following volunteer-led outdoor events available to girls. Events run like clockwork. They are organized and full of girl adventure! When Girl Scouts get outside, they: Discover that they can solve problems and overcome challenges Develop leadership skills, build social bonds, and are happier overall Become team players and care more about protecting our environment MORE OUTDOOR ADVENTURES HERE S A SNAPSHOT OF A FEW GSOC VOLUNTEER-LED OUTDOOR GIRL SCOUT ADVENTURES: Junior Jam A Service Unit specific event, Junior Jam is a skills competition for Junior Girl Scout troops.
