4 Summer 2018! What s NEW? We ve added an It s All Relative Family Camp session at Camp Dean! Due to the popularity of Ponytails camp at Camp Dean, we ve added Equestrian Camps at both Camp McCormick and Camp Far Horizons! All resident and day camps now have weekly themes! Camp CEO is being revamped, so keep an eye on our website for details! Flexible Pricing Camp program opportunities for girls are subsidized, meaning the cost of providing camp programs and operating camp is greater than the fees paid to participate. Our flexible pricing system offers families the opportunity to help cover more of the true cost of the camp programs, if they are financially able. For each session, you will see three prices: Level 1: is the most subsidized rate we can offer for camp. This covers approximately 60% of the direct costs of operating the camp program Level 2: covers some of the direct costs associated with your camper s experience, but is still a subsidized rate. Level 3: is closer to the true cost of operating the camp program. It includes direct costs such as food, program supplies, living supplies, and summer staff salaries. It does not include things like building and ground maintenance. Select the fee you feel is affordable and appropriate for your family. Flexible pricing choice is always kept confidential and does not affect the quality of your child s experience as all fees are for exactly the same program. The goal of offering flexible pricing options is to provide the highest quality programs possible to serve all community income levels and to preserve camp for generations to come. If you are requesting financial assistance, you will be requesting assistance to cover the Level 1 fee. Cost of Camp We are excited to offer an innovative summer program to your family and troop! Due to the addition of added themes at all of our resident camps and transportation for field trips or special guest experts at Camp Dean, the prices of resident camp programs at Camp Dean have increased by $10 at Tier 1, $23 at Tier 2, and $30 at Tier 3 from last year s prices. Keep in mind, if you register by May 1, you can save $25 on your camp registration! Paying for Camp Camp is an amazing adventure for girls! We want to make sure that any girl has the opportunity to attend camp at GSNI, and offer several ways to off-set the cost of camp. All of our camps are GSNI Voucher eligible. GSNI Vouchers include: - $15 Adventure Allowance if 2018 membership was renewed online by June 15, Cookie Dough, Cashew Cash and S more Dough (for Individually Registered Members) earned through the Girl Scout Fall Product and Cookie Programs Most programs have an early registration savings if you register by May 1. A limited number of camperships are also available. Please see our camperships information in this book or online. 4 Camperships If you have a girl that would love to attend camp as a camper or counselor-in-training (CIT) but doesn t have the resources to do so, we may be able to help! Families can apply for camperships by paying the initial $50 deposit for camp and submitting a campership application. Campership applications are due by April 1 and awards are granted after April 15. For more information and to apply for a campership, please visit Bring a Friend! Is your Girl Scout thinking about coming to camp but is hesitant because she doesn t know anyone or has not been away from home overnight? She can bring a non-girl Scout friend! All her friend has to do is signup to be an Individually Registered Member (IRM) and she can join your Girl Scout at camp. They can even request to be in the same cabin or tent. Current non-girl Scouts can register as IRMs by going to and clicking Girls Join! and Join Today. Fill out all information and at the Ways to Participate screen, search the word camp in the Troop # field, and select Individually Registered Member. Camp McCormick Fee Camp Leadership Camp is a perfect opportunity to take on a leadership role and be a role model for younger girls! Girl Scouts is the premiere leadership organization for girls, and camp provides unlimited options to hone leadership skills. The Counselor-in- Training (CIT) program is a great way to learn about leadership, group dynamics, and program planning. Our CIT program is a stepping stone to develop the skills it takes to lead others or even to become a future camp counselor. Girls will be able to enjoy camp and be a mentor, teaching younger girls about how to have fun in the outdoors. The CIT program is designed so girls will participate in leadership training each day then have the opportunity to apply those skills with younger campers the same week. All interactions with younger campers will be alongside our trained camp staff. Girls can also complete more than one CIT session per summer. Activities during the CIT program will go toward earning the CIT I or CIT II award. If girls want to earn the CIT awards, they must attend and complete CIT I before CIT II. Sessions can be attended without the earning of the award. CIT Apprentice (CITA) Camp Dean, Big Rock and Camp McCormick, Stillman Valley Is she ready to take her camp experience up a notch?
