7 The Lodge Camp (TL) MAINLY INDOOR The Lodge camps offer a variety of mainly indoor activities with some outdoor opportunities. Campers will experience crafts, week-long projects like murals, board games, reading/journaling and more. Weekly swim opportunities and themed special events and/or field trips also included. Explorers get the best of both worlds! Enjoy all the highlights of day camp fun plus travel off-site at least twice a week to destinations like the movies, skating and more! Explorers s* $205 $240 A Adventurers, ages (entering grades 7 10) Teens travel off-site three times a week to destinations like water parks, museum tours, miniature golf, tubing, hiking trails and the movies! 12 SPORTS & SWIM CAMPS B P V R At the Y, we understand that before children can be great athletes, they need to be great at the fundamentals. That s where we fit in shaping tomorrow s athletes today. WE BUILD SKILLS. WE BUILD CHARACTER. WE HAVE FUN! HALF-DAY AND FULL-DAY SPORTS & SWIM CAMPS Half-Day Sports camps and swim camps are offered in half-day morning or afternoon weekly sessions; perfect for the camper who doesn t need a full day of camp. Morning camps include free AM extended hours and afternoon camps include free PM extended hours! Full-Day There are two ways to create a full-day sports or swim camp: 1. Build your own full-day camp by choosing one half-day morning sports or swim camp and one half-day afternoon sports or swim camp (these can be different activities). 2. Choose the full-day option for the sports or swim activity of your choice. When you re not participating in your chosen activity, you ll be knee deep in traditional day camp fun! Baseball (BB) Ages 8-11 Improve your batting, throwing, catching, pitching, base running and field position skills this summer. Basketball (BK) Ages 5-7, 8-11 Refine you basketball skills to help you get to the next level of the game. Flag Football (FF) Ages 8-11 Campers will rotate through stations working on fundamentals, conditioning, strength and skills. 23 Important Information to Create Your Account Advantages of ship: To receive discounts on camp fees, membership must be active at the time of registration and throughout the camp season. If a membership is purchased after registration, the member rate cannot be applied. For family membership holders, the membership must be in the name of the parent/ guardian registering the child. Facility Access Number (found on membership keytag): If you have a family membership, you will need to enter the parent/guardian facility access number AND each child s number. If you have a youth membership, you will only need to enter the facility access number for each child. ship keytags can be obtained at any Center Y. To create your account, go to ymaryland.org, click on the REGISTER button, click on CREATE AN ACCOUNT, and follow the prompts. Important Information to Register and Create Camper File(s) Once your account is created, it s time to select your camper s summer experience. Select a program and use the calendar view to quickly choose all desired weeks at the same time. A Camper File questionnaire will appear during the initial selection process only and is designed to capture important information related to your child s health and for their safety at camp. This is required and is in accordance with State and National guidelines that permit and accredit our camps. Sibling Discounts Sibling discounts are available to you when two or more siblings are registered for the same weeks of camp. The discount can be applied online when you register one or more campers at the same time. Discount will calculate during the payment transaction and appear on your receipt after you checkout. Discount will be applied to the camper(s) who are registered for camps with the lowest cost AND applied to the final week of that transaction. Helpful Hints and Reminders Phone numbers can be entered more than once. Tetanus shots must be entered as month/day/year. If the day is unknown, you may use the 1st of the month. Provide an address that you will check frequently as this will be our main form of communication with you regarding your account and camp information. You can search for camps/programs without logging in or creating an account. You can add camps or programs to your account wish list and register later. Wish lists do not reserve your space. You can modify your file in your online account should any changes occur between registration and the start of camp. Remember to visit ymaryland.org for FAQs and to download forms, manuals and agreements. The Camp Parent Manual is available online at ymaryland.org and contains additional program information. Promotions and Discounts Occasionally the Y will have special pricing on camp programs. These may be discounted online and appear in your cart or may require that you enter a coupon code during checkout. Look for announcements about camp specials and coupon codes at ymaryland.org. Important Information for Returning Families If you want to access your online account, but have forgotten your account login password, simply click the Forgot your password link, enter your address and a temporary password will be sent to you. From there, you will be able to reset your password. Once you access your online account, confirm that all of your campers are entered by selecting Change Information About. If you need to add a new camper click on Add New. You may update or change any personal information, including your address, by selecting Change Account Address or Personal Information and click on Update Address or Phone. 26 Y CAMP GENERAL INFORMATION Camp Registration Camp registration for the 2015 camp season begins January15th. Registration is only available online at ymaryland.org. Sign up early as space is limited and enrollment is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Registration must be accompanied by applicable deposits and registration fees. For more information about registering online, see page 22 or visit ymaryland.org for complete details. PLEASE NOTE: In order to qualify for member rates, the child you are registering must be a member at the time of registration and remain a member throughout all camp session(s). For family membership holders, the membership must be in the name of the parent/guardian registering the child. If a membership is purchased after registration, the member rate cannot be applied. Early Bird Special Register online for Y Camp from January 15th February 16th and pay NO registration fee, plus get 7% off each week when you register for three to seven weeks. That could mean a savings of up to $145! Sign up for eight or more weeks and get 10% off each week a potential savings of up to $193 or more! The more weeks and activities you register for at the same time, the more you save! Camp Weeks Camp start and end dates are subject to change pending any changes with the Public School System s school schedule or location availability. Camp Hours Full-day Camp: 9am-4pm Free Extended Hours: 7am-9am; 4pm-6pm Sandy Point Extended Hours: 8am-9am; 4pm-6pm Half-day AM Sports/Swim Camp: 9am-12pm (free morning extended hours) Half-day PM Sports/Swim Camp: 1pm-4pm (free afternoon extended hours) Add-On Camps: 4pm-6pm, Mon-Thur Registration Fee One-time fee of $35 per camper. The registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. Sibling Discounts A 5% fee reduction is available for each additional child when registered at the same time. Discounts are available online. Deposits A $25 per week/per camper deposit is required for all camps. Deposits are nonrefundable and are applied towards the total weekly camp fee. Even when camp is paid for in full, $25 per week is considered a non-refundable deposit. (Not subject to sibling discount.) Balance of Weekly Camp Fees Payments for camp will be automatically drafted from your credit card on the Sunday prior to the camp week. (See cancellation policy.) A complete payment schedule is included in the Camp Parent Manual. If balance is not received, the camper will not be allowed to attend and the slot will be reassigned. Financial Assistance Financial assistance is available. Apply early as funding may be limited. Applications are available online at ymaryland.org. DSS vouchers are accepted. An award, denial, waitlist, or receipt of application from DSS must be submitted along with the Y financial assistance application. Including DSS, additional discounts and promotions do not apply in conjunction with financial assistance. Camp Parent Manual The Camp Parent Manual is available online at ymaryland.org. It contains important information you need to know including camp policies and procedures for inclement weather, illnesses and other camp details. QUALITY CAMPS, EXCEPTIONAL STAFF Most Y Camps are ACA accredited, which means we run our camps according to the best policies and practices in the industry. We voluntarily go through rigorous inspections by outside professionals to ensure we continue to exceed state regulations in health, safety, programming, staff qualifications/ training, emergency management plans and more up to 300 standards in all! Y Camp staff candidates undergo a thorough review process including Camp Try-Outs (a half day of actual activities and scenarios), reference and background checks, and several interviews. Before working with campers, staff will complete a minimum of 30 hours of training that is specific to their role, including first aid, CPR and activity leadership. 26 Summer at the Y 2015

27 Cancellation Policy All changes and cancellations must be made in writing and include the camper s full name, camp location, dates of the weeks and a description of the request. All requests must be submitted to the Billing Office either via fax at , or by to billing@ymaryland.org. Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. If a camp week is cancelled two weeks prior, the deposit will be left as a credit (less a $5 per week/per child processing fee) on your account for one year and any balance paid will be refunded. Cancellations made with less than two weeks notice will not be accepted; all fees are non-refundable.
