Both offer him unconditional support and both are always there when he needs them. Page 4 of 27

Why is he called Mr OM? Do you see how his head doesn't quite join together? Well, that's not because he's a few slices short of a loaf. Absolutely not! Quite the opposite is true. No, in fact, his head is that way because he has an Open Mind (OM). He is a good listener and he will not judge you. Mr OM embraces life with all 5 of his heightened senses. INTENDED USE The SoulPad tents and equipment are intended for regular, light, leisure use. It is our opinion that SoulPad tents do not make for a suitable permanent shelter. They are primarily a temporary structure. They are classed as a Touring Tent (type T) in accordance with ISO The average touring tent user will use their SoulPad tent and equipment for up to two week long bursts, up to three times a year. They will pack and store their tent and equipment away dry in-between uses. We are aware that some SoulPad customers do choose to use their SoulPad equipment for long periods at a time, and in some instances permanently (some with far more success than others). This is done so against our recommendation. Specifically, the SoulPad tents and equipment are designed for use in temperate climates during Spring & Summer. Using SoulPad equipment outside of this scope will likely affect the longevity. We are aware some SoulPad customers have purchased the stove for various other applications other than for use with SoulPad tents. We can not advise on these alternative applications as our expertise lies in using the with the or Blaze-tribeflue and the compatible SoulPad tent models. Compatibility The with are compatible with the following SoulPad tent model(s): - SoulPad 4000-lite SoulPad 4000-ease SoulPad 4000-hybrid SoulPad 4000-hybrid-G SoulPad 5000-lite SoulPad 5000-ease SoulPad 5000-hybrid SoulPad 5000-hybrid-G SoulPad 5000-hybrid-G-XL SoulPad 6000-hybrid-G The with are compatible with the following SoulPad tent model(s): - SoulPad 5000-tribe Page 5 of 27

The and or the and are designed to be used together. We do not recommend the is used with any other flue kit, and we do not recommend the or is used with any other stove. Here follows a list of the variables we have taken into consideration when configuring the and the flue kits for compatibility: - 1. The output of the stove 2. The outer dimensions of the stove 3. The inner dimensions of the stove s firebox 4. The distance between the top of the stove and the flashing 5. The aperture of the flue pipes 6. The aperture of the stove collar 7. The temperature tolerances (tested to intermittent and continuous) 8. Fuel type With this list in mind it is easy to see how by using a different stove or flue kit to the one we recommend will affect the variables considerably. TRIAL It is recommended that all SoulPad tent and equipment users conduct a trial to become familiar with the equipment ahead of when it may be needed most. Erect the SoulPad tent and use the SoulPad equipment according to the instructions. CHOICE OF THE SITE Check with the land owner on the best places to pitch. They will understand best how their land fairs during different types of weather. The ideal site is flat and well-drained with short grass on a sound soil structure. Avoid areas which are prone to flooding or are exposed. Avoid pitching under trees. Pitching under a tree and in woodlands can present problems: - Falling leaves - left on the canvas to get wet can cause discoloration and degradation of the canvas beneath. Bird droppings - birds like to rest in trees and leave deposits on your SoulPad tent. Falling debris from the tree - can penetrate the canvas. Mould and mildew formation - can be accelerated in woodland conditions, as it is here (damp, moist conditions) that mould and fungus can thrive. The direction of the prevailing wind should also be taken into consideration. Try to pitch with the back of your SoulPad facing the prevailing wind. This will help to conduct the wind over the SoulPad rather than up Page 6 of 27

against the entrance or the. An uneven pitch will place uneven tension on the canvas, poles and other components, as will an overly exposed pitch. This would be dangerous when using a stove and inside your tent. Once you have selected a good spot, before pitching remove any stones and loose debris that may cause damage to the groundsheet or discomfort underfoot. IMPORTANT NOTES SoulPad tents are not flame retardant, so it is important the flue pipe is fitted through the silicone collar supplied with the Blaze-flue kit or through the sleeved pipe in the case of the. When using the Blaze-flue it is equally important to position carefully the stove back plate behind the stove itself. The back plate will slot into the purpose-made arms at the back of the stove and will serve to protect the canvas from the heat and throw heat back into the tent. The stove itself needs to be steady, and situated on a durable flat surface such as a large tile or a piece of slate. We recommend the use of floor slate measuring a minimum of 60 x 40 x 1 cm. Slate has a textured surface and the stove is less likely to move on slate than if placed on a smoother surface. The slate should be positioned with some excess at the front of the stove in order to catch any stray embers and protect the groundsheet. We also recommend the use of coir matting as a secondary measure to protect the groundsheet. Just as you would protect your carpet in front of a woodburner at home. SoulPad's coir matting has been tested by the British Institute of Textiles for flame retardant properties and is a more than suitable product to use with SoulPad tents. It is particularly useful when placed under the slate hearth (or similar). This way, the groundsheet is further protected from any stray embers. Be sure to remove all labels from the stove and flue kit components before use. Page 7 of 27

SoulPad Instruction Manual Important Information to read before use The following information is found on an information sheet inside the stove, and the same should be observed by the user of the and Blaze-tribeflue: - Page 8 of 27

The Curing Process To preserve the appearance of the stove and prevent defects in the finish, the stove should be heated to 200 C for at least 30 minutes upon its first burn. You should use a stove-top thermometer to ensure this continual temperature is met and not exceeded. This will aid the paint curing process and prevent blistering and flaking of the paint surface. Following the curing process please always use a stove-top thermometer and do not allow the stove to get hotter than 240 C THE BLAZE STOVE is an efficient, 2.5kw, lightweight wood burning stove. With an extra high and chunky 4" flue collar. Produced by a Master Blacksmith. The cage and ball handle design allows the heat to be cleverly dispersed. This means the handle won't get too hot to touch. The stove is a sealed unit and it can be used with either the or the Diagram Page 9 of 27

There is a baffler inside the stove so no need for a spark arrester in the flue pipe system. The stove comes with a neat and discreet device at the back (on the legs) to slot a stove back plate into (required when fitting to any SoulPad tent other than the SoulPad 5000-tribe tent). The Vent The vent system on the front of the stove allows the user to control the air flow. Opening the vent allows more air into the firebox and allows the fire to become hotter and burn more rigorously. Closing the vent reduces the amount of air that is able to get into the firebox and allows the fire to cool and burn more slowly. Combine the vent with the airtight door (with fire rope) and the result is a neat little wood burning stove with maximum log burning efficiency. Top Plate There is a generous top plate measuring in size: 332 x 224mm (including flue collar). Stability The flue pipe connects at the top (not at the back) so the can be left in situ if you decide to roll the walls up on your SoulPad-lite/hybrid/hybrid-G. The top venting design of this stove also encourages an uninterrupted flow when expelling the smoke and flue gases. This configuration is particularly stable - the flue sits directly on top of the stove. Output The stove output is 2.5kw and is plenty to warm even the biggest of SoulPad tents if used as intended. Page 10 of 27

Since SoulPad was started back in 2006, we have worked hard to perfect the stove and flue kit configuration. The following list details the safety features of the stove: - 1. The has a purposely small firebox, so can only stay lit if continually fed. It's impossible for the user to put enough wood in for overnight use. In fact the most it is likely to stay lit for unattended is an hour or two. This reduces the likelihood of Carbon Monoxide build-up considerably. 2. The is a sealed unit. The door is sealed closed with a fire rope seal and the through flow of air is controlled by a vent on the front of the door. So no back draft of noxious gases when used as designed. Page 11 of 27

3. The is a wood-burning stove. No other material should be burned in there when using the Blaze for camping purposes. Most of us are aware that charcoal and coal omits a very high amount of noxious gases compared with seasoned wood. In fact most of the deaths associated with campers and carbon monoxide are as a result of the misuse of charcoal b-b-qs. Charcoal carries on omitting noxious gases long after it has cooled. 4. The SoulPad tents are made from breathable, cotton canvas. This should allow a greater flow of fresh air than a non-breathable material. What about stray sparks? 5. The stove has a baffler fitted inside. This ensures the secondary combustion of fuel and prevents sparks from going up the flue pipe. Isn't it safer just to have a campfire outside of the SoulPad? 6. Some would argue that it is more dangerous to have a campfire next to your tent than it is to have a stove inside it. Campfires are wonderful, but problematic when positioned too close to the tent. Is the stove suitable for use around children? 7. That really depends on the child. It s not much fun policing a hot stove with little, little ones around. They can't see that it's hot, and after all sometimes it's not. 8. Children of all ages have a habit of leaning on the central pole and the a-frame at the entrance - this moves the canvas and can affect the stability of the flue kit. Further, with our Inferno-flue (side-exiting and so a far more exposed flue pipe) it can be difficult to keep children from touching the flue pipe (its shiny and they can see their face all distorted in it! Of course they want to get close!) What if it gets windy? 9. A camping stove should not be used in windy conditions. Wind can affect the stability of the flue pipe when buffeting the canvas. It's a good idea to choose a sheltered spot when pitching and intending to use a stove. The campsite owner is the best person to consult when choosing your pitch, and always pitch your SoulPad with it's back to the prevailing wind. Will the stove damage the groundsheet? 10. When lit, the stove does not heat up the ground beneath. SoulPadders with domestic wood burners will know the ground beneath a stove doesn't get particularly hot. The same is true of the stove, so it is not necessary to protect the groundsheet from heat damage. However, the user must consider a suitable surface upon which to place the stove to protect the groundsheet from the weight of the stove through its legs, and from stray embers (when opening the stove door). Whichever material you settle on to place your stove upon, it must enable the legs to get a good purchase for stability. Highly polished ceramic tiles look lovely but are highly impractical. Rough cut slate really is the best. Page 12 of 27

Step-by-Step: Using The Stove Assuming the Stove has been fitted correctly to the compatible flue kit, you can now follow these steps. There are many ways to start a fire. We find this to be the easiest way to get started: - 1. Remove any objects from on top of the stove. 2. Make sure there are no objects in contact with the stove. 3. Open the vent fully on the door of the stove. 4. Open the stove door. 5. Insert a firelighter in the centre of the firebox ready to ignite later. 6. Place some kindling around and over the fire lighter: - a) Place a piece of kindling on either side of the fire lighter. b) Place a further two pieces of kindling at 90 degrees to the first two pieces of kindling and on top of them. c) Place a further two pieces of kindling on top of these, parallel to and in line with the first two. 7. Ignite the fire lighter and close the stove door. 8. Depending on the wood, the kindling should be hot enough after around 5-10 minutes so you can add a slightly bigger piece of kindling on top. 9. Depending on the wood, after around 5-10 minutes you can add yet another slightly bigger piece of kindling/firewood on top. 10. You can now close the vent a little to reduce the airflow and speed at which the wood burns. Never leave the lit or hot stove unattended. 11. To cease using the stove simply close the vent on the stove s door and allow the fire to die down. It will eventually go out. Keep the vent closed even after the stove has cooled down. 12. Allow the ashes to cool completely before attempting to remove them from the firebox. Depending on how long and intense the previous fire was, you may need to empty the ashes from the firebox in-between uses. You will certainly need to empty the ashes from the firebox before packing the stove away for transportation. We recommend the use of a metal bucket and companion set for the removal of the ashes. Dispose of the ashes responsibly. Page 13 of 27

Useful Notes The silicone collar is suitable for flue pipes up to 240 degrees Celsius. The design temperature in solid fuel appliances is 450 degrees Celsius, much lower in small stoves. The flashing (Silicone Collar and Collar Back Plate) must therefore be fitted a minimum of 600mm from the stove, to allow the pipe gases to cool down. Only dry, seasoned wood should be burned in the stove when used in combination with this flue kit. Anything else is likely to burn too hot. Ultimately, the decision of where to locate the and stove will be yours. It is strongly recommended that it is fitted away from the exit. It's important to keep the exit clear for safety reasons. The exit also endures the most traffic, which may present problems if the stove is located too close to it. Once you have considered how you will use your SoulPad, the and need to be located in the least vulnerable area. We recommend if you are standing outside the SoulPad tent facing the entrance (with the entrance being at 6 O'clock on a clock face), the is fitted at 9 O'clock. Please keep in mind the following safety distances. Safety Distance: 4000-series SoulPads Page 15 of 27

Safety Distance: 5000-series SoulPads Safety Distance: 6000-series SoulPads Page 16 of 27

In all cases where the is used, the stove needs to be sited away from the centre of the SoulPad, closer to the 'wall', with the flue pipe fitted through the canvas 'roof' via the flashing (the Silicone Collar and Collar Back Plate) included with the kit. 18 Fixing Kit (10x M6 screws, 20x M6 washers, 10x M6 wing nuts) M6 1 Stove Back Plate 600 x 500 x 1 mm 1 Step-by-Step: Fitting The These instructions apply whether you are fitting the to a regular SoulPad, or to a SoulPad with the Genie pre-fitted. SoulPads with the Genie pre-fitted have a G suffix. For example; The SoulPad hybrid-G A Note to Genie Users If you are fitting the to a SoulPad with the Genie pre-fitted you will need to roll up (and fasten out of the way using the toggles) the outer layer of the Genie (the canvas, velcro flap on the outside of the tent). Roll this flap in the same way as illustrated here, to encourage water to disperse more easily (note the direction of the roll). aperture, meant as a guide for Silicone Collar and the Collar the flue sections. Particularly at illustrated. In step 7 below you will be cutting the middle layer of canvas which up until now has been a canvas blank, and you will be trimming away the excess of the inner most layer (the circular positioning/cutting) so that only the Back Plate can come into contact with the base of the Collar Back Plate, as 1. The aperture in the Silicone Collar will fit snugly to the flue. There is no need for any cutting of the silicone collar. 2. If your Silicone Collar and Collar Back Plate have not been pre-drilled, place the Silicone Collar's Collar Back Plate (the aluminium plate with circular cut-out) on a drillable surface with the silicone collar lined up on top. If you have also purchased the Back Plate Blank, it is a good idea to line this up with these items at this time too. 3. Using a drill bit make holes in the corners of the silicone collar's outer edge through to the Collar Back Plate so that the holes line up. One hole in each corner, then two more evenly spaced along the top and bottom edges and one more along each side. Using a marker pen, mark each component with an identical symbol in the same place on each. This way you won't get muddled trying to line them up later. Page 18 of 27

4. Once you have calculated where to fit the flashing, place the Silicone Collar outside in the right spot. If fitting the flashing to the Genie, the location is already calculated for you and you simply need to line up the Silicone Collar on the outside with the circular aperture of the Collar Back Plate on the inside. 5. Ask your assistant to line up the Collar Back Plate and mark out the drilled holes with a pen. Poke a bodkin or drill bit through the holes and the canvas and fix the screws through from outside the tent with the washers in place. 6. Finish by adding the remaining washers and wing nuts to the ends of the screws inside of the tent. 7. Cut away all visible canvas you now have sandwiched between the above components (inside the circular cut-out of the Collar Back Plate). It is better to do this from inside the tent. You will need a sharp Stanley/craft knife or scissors to do this. 8. Inside the tent, fix the 500mm section of flue (the shortest) to the stove. You will find using the shorter 500mm section here will make the next steps easier. Page 19 of 27

FITTING THE BLAZE-TRIBEFLUE Diagram Page 20 of 27

Useful Notes When using the stove with the Blaze tribeflue, your Blaze stove will be positioned in the centre of your SoulPad. Please observe the following safety distances when using your Blaze stove at the centre: - Safety Distance: SoulPad 5000-tribe There are two methods for fitting the. Both methods require two people. Step-by-Step: Fitting The (Method 1) 1. Begin to erect the SoulPad 5000-tribe following the instructions carefully. Page 21 of 27

2. At the point when the central pole is about to be fitted, from inside the tent push the Sleeved Pipe through the webbing and out of the top of the vent until it is approximately half way through. 3. Attach one of the 1000mm Flue Pipe sections to the sleeved pipe with a Locking Band. 4. Synchronise the lifting into position of the central pole with the erection of the Blaze-tribeflue. Depending on your height, you may need to attach a further section of 1000mm Flue Pipe to help hoist the flue pipe up into position alongside the central pole. 5. Once the central pole is fully erect you should find that the sleeved pipe (and any further sections of pipe which you attached) will stay in place without sliding back down. However, this causes some strain on the vent area, so have the remaining pipe sections to hand and attach with the remaining locking band(s), finishing with the 500mm Flue Pipe section at the base. 6. Ask your assistant to put into position the flat surface upon which you will site the stove, and any other flooring materials you may have in mind to protect the groundsheet. Position the stove directly below the flue pipe and place the final 500mm Flue Pipe section into the collar on the stove. Remember to use the Glass Fibre Ladder Tape to seal the section between the stove and the 500mm Flue Pipe. In order to do this you will first need to remove the yellow backer from the ladder tape, and then stretch it around the flue pipe, adhesive side down, and with some force. This will insure a good snug fit. Make sure the flue pipe is upright and the stove is stable. Fresh ladder tape will need to be re-applied each time the stove and flue kit are moved. 7. Once the stove and flue pipe are installed correctly you can light the fire. 8. During rainy weather you will need to fit the canvas vent cap to the SoulPad 5000-tribe, to stop rain penetration at the vent. If following method 1, the vent cap can be fitted after the Blaze-tribeflue is in place. Two people can quite simply use the vent cap guy ropes to lift the vent cap up into position by synchronising its lift up the walls of the tent. When it is in place (with the tip of the vent cap on the top of the central pole), fasten the vent cap shut by first fixing the back guy ropes in place and working towards the split in the cap, wrapping the cap closed as normal. Step-by-Step: Fitting The (Method 2) 1. Erect the SoulPad 5000-tribe (including the vent cap) following the instructions carefully. 2. Open the vent cap. Then, standing on a pair of step ladders, gently push the sleeved pipe section through the webbing and out the top of the vent until it is approximately half way through. 3. Attach the remaining two 1000mm Flue Pipe sections with locking bands, then attach the 500mm Flue Pipe section at the base. 4. Follow instructions 6 and 7 from method 1 above. 5. The Vent Cap will need to be fastened shut during rainy weather. Simply wrap the cap closed as normal Page 22 of 27

6. Attach the Witches Hat to the upper most part of the 1000mm flue pipe using the first locking band. Be sure to have the locking band positioned the correct way up (the writing on the locking band will indicate this). 7. From outside the tent slide the second length of flue pipe (1000mm) through the silicone collar, using water as a lubricant if necessary. Your assistant will need to guide this second length down onto the first section. Once in place, attach the two pieces of flue pipe together using the second locking band. Again, make sure the locking band is the correct way up. 8. Get the flue pipe to stand vertically. There are three movements involved in achieving this: - a) Move the stove back or fourth (if the ground is not flat you may have to alter the pitch of the stove also) b) Move the silicone collar up or down along the flue pipe. c) Manipulate the silicone collar along its top edge, causing some bunching on the inside, as in the picture (the silicone collar is meant to flex in this way). You will notice there is provision to attach guy ropes to the witches hat if further stability is needed (e.g if camping in breezy weather). 9. Once the stove and are installed correctly you can position the stove back plate and light the fire. The stove back plate is rectangular and made from embossed aluminium. It should be installed with the longest edges parallel to the ground. ODOUR ON FIRST BURN There will be an odour of burning residues when the stove is first lit and you may be able to see the residues burning off the outer surface of the stove. For this reason it is recommended that you first light your stove outside of the tent to burn off these residues. If you are burning off the residues while the is inside the SoulPad tent make sure your tent is well vented when you light your stove for the first time. The odour will cease as the stove burns off the residues. Keep the stove hot for a good long period of time to make sure the residues burn away successfully. Allow plenty of time for this process. TO PRESERVE THE STOVE FINISH/PAINT To preserve the appearance of the stove and prevent defects in the finish, the stove should be heated to 200 C for at least 30 minutes upon its first burn. You should use a stove-top thermometer to ensure this continual temperature is met and not exceeded. This will aid the paint curing process and prevent blistering and flaking of the paint surface. Following the curing process please always use a stove-top thermometer and do not allow the stove to get hotter than 240 C Page 23 of 27

IN THE EVENT OF A FIRE There is a legible notice permanently attached inside your SoulPad tent, to the left of the entrance as you enter the tent. Do not remove it. These Fire Precautions should be noted and followed each time you use your SoulPad tent. It reads as follows: - Never block the exits of your SoulPad on the inside or the outside of the tent. In the event of an emergency the exits will need to be clear of obstacles to allow the occupants to vacate the tent as quickly as possible. Use a Smoke Alarm It is advisable to include a small hand held fire extinguisher as part of your camping kit along with a smoke alarm. The SoulPads do not have a designated cooking area. Cooking equipment should be used outside the SoulPad tent. Please carefully follow the instructions that came with your cooking equipment. Page 24 of 27

VENTILATION All of the SoulPad tents have vents. These are lined with a mosquito mesh and must be used regularly. Never block the vents. To do so will compromise the tents performance and the occupant s safety. It is a good idea to vent your SoulPad while the and are in use. CARBON MONOXIDE RISK Carbon Monoxide is a colourless, odourless, and tasteless gas that is slightly less dense than air. It is toxic to humans when encountered in concentrations above about 35 ppm. It is the most common type of fatal air poisoning in many countries and too many campers are killed by this gas each year. The most common symptoms of Carbon Monoxide poisoning may resemble other types of poisonings and infections, including symptoms such as headache, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, fatigue, and a feeling of weakness. Affected people often believe they are victims of food poisoning. Infants may be irritable and feed poorly. Neurological signs include confusion, disorientation, visual disturbance, syncope and seizures. Use a Carbon Monoxide Alarm For your safety we recommend the use of a Carbon Monoxide alarm inside your tent. Page 25 of 27

PARTICULAR PROBLEMS THAT MAY ARISE Wind The and should not be used in windy conditions. You will know if it is going to be too windy to use the equipment by regularly checking the weather forecast. If this isn t possible and for some reason you find yourself using the and in windy conditions, you should cease to use it. You will know if it is too windy to use the & if the SoulPad tent flysheet is moving significantly in the wind, to such a degree that the stability of the and are affected. There is provision on the to add extra guy lines, but these guy lines should not be relied upon during windy weather. Wind gusts can easily dislodge tent pegs rendering them useless. Correct Placing of Items Inside The SoulPad Tent Do not place items too close to the stove and observe the safety distances in the previous illustrations under Safety Distances. Canvas Fatigue It is advisable to leave the Collar Back Plate and the Silicone Collar fitted, as constant removal and re-fitting of these components will lead to an accelerated breakdown of the canvas where the screws pass through. If leaving these components in place, you will need to be mindful of their whereabouts throughout packing away. Otherwise these components can cause damage to the canvas, or the components themselves can become damaged during folding and storage. Canvas Discolouring If the canvas becomes discoloured in any way at or near to the area where the SoulPad passes, it is likely that the is becoming too hot during use, or it is being used for periods far longer than it is intended to be used. Make sure the is only being used for short bursts at a time (0-4 hours) and the fuel being used is dry, seasoned wood. Other fuels (such as charcoal, coal or pellets) can burn too hot for the and should not be used. Do not over-fill the stove and use the vent on the front of the stove to control the combustion and the heat. If the pipes change colour in any way it is likely that the is too hot. Allow the stove to cool from time-to-time. Be certain that none of the canvas material is in contact with the at any time, particularly any material or threads that may remain after the cutting process when fitting. Page 26 of 27

Silicone Collar Fatigue The Silicone Collar will perish eventually and will need replacing from time to time. To get the most out of the Silicone Collar make sure your stove is operated at a temperature of degrees Celsius. If you allow the stove to achieve temperatures higher than this the silicone collar will break down very quickly causing it to crack and even crumble. Use a Magnetic Stove Top Thermometer This will enable you to monitor the temperature of your stove. If operated at a temperature of degrees Celsius, at this point there is complete combustion and smoke is minimised. Page 27 of 27
