OWNER S MANUAL AND WARRANTY FORM Jet Tent F25-25DX manual.indd 1
WARNING Never use any fuel-burning products (stoves, lanterns, heaters, etc.) inside or within proximity of this tent. Use of fuel-burning products inside or within proximity of this tent can result in the accumulation of dangerous concentrations of carbon monoxide a colourless, odourless gas. Breathing carbon monoxide can cause serious injury or death. Keep all flame and heat sources away from this tent. The tent fabric will burn if it has contact with an open flame or other heat source. Failure to keep all flame and heat sources away from this tent can result in a fire that can burn, injure, or kill you. Before using this product, read and fully understand: (1) attached warnings; (2) the instruction manual and all accompanying documentation. Failure to follow these directions can cause an unsafe situation leading to fire, burns, severe injury, or death. RAIN PROTECTION USING AND CARING Use your included fly when there is a chance of rain. Your Jet Tent is light shower proof without the fly, however fully water proof with the fly. VENTILATION Maintain adequate ventilation inside your tent at all times. CAMPSITE CHOICE When choosing a campsite, carefully consider the possibility of falling rocks or tree limbs, lightning, flash floods, avalanches, strong winds, and other potential hazards to reduce the risk of loss or injury to the tent or occupants. Select a site that s level, will drain well if it rains, and is protected from wind and other elements. Clear the area of sharp stones, sticks, and other debris, both for comfort and to protect your floor. If possible, avoid setting the tent on ground that is already wet. If you can t, minimize the resulting humidity and potential of condensation by keeping your tent well ventilated. PEGS AND ROPES Peg down your tent properly at all times to reduce the risk of loss or injury to the tent or occupants. All tents require pegging to prevent them from flying away in a gust of wind. Always anchor your Jet Tent. Enough pegs and ropes are supplied to safely setup your tent in most situations. It may be necessary to purchase additional and/or specialised pegs and ropes for use in extreme or varied soil conditions. Tightly tensioning your tent with our attached ropes greatly increases the tent s strength and stability. This will also reduce fabric droop and wrinkles, and prevent rainwater from pooling. USING A FLOOR SAVER A Floor Saver keeps your tent floor clean and dry and it minimises floor wear and tear by protecting it from excessive abrasion. Jet Tent F25-25DX manual.indd 2
CONDENSATION Condensation is an unavoidable fact of physics. When warm, moist air comes in contact with the cool tent fabric, it forms condensation. In most conditions condensation can be controlled by allowing air inside the tent to vent outside. During periods of high humidity, such as rain, it can be too difficult to remove or reduce condensation. In these conditions, a high degree of ventilation can actually increase the condensation by drawing in more humid air. To reduce condensation use your included Jet Tent Fly. Your Jet Tent Fly is designed to collect humid air that passes through your tent. It is normal to find the underside of the fly covered in water droplets in humid conditions. Condensation can also collect on parts of the floor inside the tent. This is also normal and does not indicate leaking fabric. Tip have an absorbent towel handy in the morning to absorb any droplets that form. ZIPPERS Be careful with your zippers. Go slow when zipping. Make sure to align the tracks before sliding the zipper and don t exert excessive force. If fabric gets caught in the slider, stop and slowly reverse the slider to remove. A silicone based lubricant may be used to enhance zipping. When dirt gets in the zipper teeth, they can cause abrasion and damage to the zipper sliders. You can clean the zipper teeth by rinsing them out with water. The pressure from a regular garden hose will push out small sand particles. CLEANING If your tent should require cleaning, use a sponge with warm water. If further cleaning is needed, a garden hose should be able to wash off any remaining dirt. Do not use detergent, soap, bleach, or have it dry cleaned, as these may remove the waterproofing and/or damage the fabric. Allow the tent to airdry completely before packing or storing. STORAGE Packing away and storing your tent while it s wet or damp leads to premature breakdown of the canvas and coatings. Prolonged exposure to moisture causes the waterproof layer to break down, becoming soft, sticky and no longer waterproof. Storing a wet tent can also start the process of mildew forming on the fabric. Mildew will cause your tent to stain, smell, and will lead to the premature breakdown of the waterproof coating. Dry your tent thoroughly after every trip. Tip Keep the tent off the ground when storing as moisture can be absorbed through the concrete. ANIMALS To prevent damage from animals chewing holes in the fabric, never store food or cooking equipment in your tent. Also ensure that there are no insects inside when packing the tent as they have a tendency to eat their way to freedom resulting in holes in the tent. CHEMICALS Never use any sprays like insect repellant or deodorant, as these can cause damage to the waterproofing and the tape seam seals. Tip - use roll-in insect repellents and deodorants. Jet Tent F25-25DX manual.indd 3
SETTING UP YOUR JET TENT 1 Unpack your Jet Tent and undo the retaining straps. The number of straps may vary depending on tent size. Do not discard these straps - you will need them for a neater pack up. Stand up your tent. Undo the attached strap restraining the frame (A). Release the folded frame by pulling away the attached nylon loops (B). A B Let the frame unfold itself onto the ground. Pull all of the legs out and peg them into place. Jet Tent F25-25DX manual.indd 4
SETTING UP YOUR JET TENT 2 Push up the centre HUB to lock in the roof of your tent. Let the locked roof back down gently. Pull all the arms out from the knuckles to lock the frame in place. You may need to push the tent up a little to lock in the last knuckle. 3 Peg out all of the ropes and peg points. OPTION A Release the front awning and use the included Awning Poles and ropes to set it up. OPTION B Throw the fly over and secure all plastic clips at the bottom. Secure all velcro straps afterwards. Jet Tent F25-25DX manual.indd 5
SETTING UP YOUR JET TENT 25X or 25DX 4 Follow phase 1 to 3 of setting up your standard Jet Tent. Pull out the excess canvas at the back of the tent and peg at the bottom. Assemble the extension pole. Feed gently through the sleeve in the back. Allow the pole to rotate freely for an easier feed. 5 Move the extension pole into position to erect the back room as shown. Jet Tent F25-25DX manual.indd 6
SETTING UP YOUR JET TENT ACCESSORIES Fully set up your Jet Tent. Use your included peaking poles to peak up the tent as illustrated. Carefully zip on the panels. Fix the panels to the awning poles with the attached velcro straps. Peg down at all pegging loops. Jet Tent F25-25DX manual.indd 7
Note: Before taking down the main tent, ensure that all foreign items are removed from the tent. Detach and pack your fly and all other accessories. Un-peg and secure all guy ropes and pegs. If you have an extended model take down the extended rooms and tuck it inside the main tent. 1 PACKING UP YOUR JET TENT Close all windows. Roll up and secure your attached awning. With your entire body half out of the tent, pull down on the centre hub using the attached handle inside. 2 up Unpeg all legs and fold them to the centre as shown Your folded Jet Tent should look similar to this illustration. A B Restrain the frame with the attached looped straps (A) and restraining strap (B). Jet Tent F25-25DX manual.indd 8
PACKING UP YOUR JET TENT 3 using Gently put down your Jet Tent. Roll it up as tight as you can. Restrain provided retaining straps. For an easier pack up, release all buckles on your carry bag.
