Trampolines & trampoline parts designed to survive in the harsh Oz climate. Installation Guide: Round Trampoline
Safety Tips Here at Oz Trampolines we are passionate about your family s safety when using our trampolines and accessories. We have put together a list of safety tips and advice which will help ensure your Oz Trampolines experience is safe, secure and fun. 1 Keep the area around your trampoline clear from any foreign objects. 8 2 Inspect the trampoline before each use and replace any worn or missing parts. Also ensure parts are safe and securely attached. 9 Place your trampoline on a level surface and well lit area, to ensure a safe and secure bounce. Ensure the trampoline is properly secure with the provided Anchor kit. 3 Supervise children and inexperienced jumpers at all times, taking extra care with younger children. 10 To ensure complete safety, particularly with little jumpers, ensure your safety net is used to help protect and avoid injury Do not allow any activity under the trampoline. The Pocket Surround will help keep children or pets from underneath the trampoline while someone is jumping. Enter and exit safely through the Safety net opening using the ladder provided. Bare feet are the best and safest way to jump on a trampoline mat as they provide grip and avoid slipping. Jumping in the middle of the trampoline is the best and safest place to bounce. 11 Always use safety padding on the frame to avoid injury. *Please note the owner and supervisors of the trampoline are responsible to make all users aware of practices specified in the safety tips. Care & Maintenance Regular care and maintenance of your trampoline is required you should check your trampoline once a month. This will help prolong its life and reduce the possibility of injury. Neglecting this can lead to a risk for users. 2
Welcome Thank you for your purchase of an Oz Trampoline, we have designed our trampolines to be safe and ensure the parts last many years in the harsh Oz climate to give you peace of mind and your children many years of enjoyment. 6 Frame Assembly Step 1 Step 3 To begin, lay out the frame parts and the T pieces as pictured. Proceed to screw each piece together working in a clockwise direction. Place the smaller square tubing into the larger square tubing and T piece as pictured. Step 2 Step 4 Place the Tpieces over the larger of the square Tubing. Hint: if hard to get on stretch the T pieces slightly outwards. Place the T piece screws through the T piece and Framing and tighten with washer, net and place the screw cap on the end. 6
Frame Assembly (cont.) Finished Stage Legs: Step 1 Repeat on each T piece until you have a completed circle. It is now time to put the legs together. Noting that each of the legs has a U shaped piece and two leg extensions (the 6ft trampolines do not require this). Handy Hint Legs: Step 2 The last piece of the frame can be tight to get into place. Have a second person or use a wall to place some resistance on the frame to have it move into place. Connect the U shaped piece to the leg extensions simply by slotting into place, these should fit securely. 7
Frame Assembly (cont.) Legs: Step 3 Legs: Finished Stage Slot each leg into the T pieces and secure with the t piece screws, washers, nuts and screw caps. You now have your trampoline frame assembled. Well Done. Legs: Step 4 Secure the inserted trampoline leg with the attached screws, noting that each screw hole must be facing into the centre of the trampoline. 8
Mat Assembly Step 1 Step 3 Ensure that you have counted your springs and have the correct amount of springs for your trampoline. Also take note of the end of the spring which looks like the letter C. This is the end that hooks into your trampoline frame. Continue the process of attaching the springs to your mat at 2 O Clock, 8 O Clock, 4 O Clock and 10 O Clock. Ensure that each time you connect a spring to the mat you attach the opposite side which allows for better tension and pressure. Step 2 Step 4 Attach a spring to your trampoline mat at the top of the frame or 12 O Clock. Then proceed to attach the spring to your mat at the opposite end of the frame 6 O Clock. This technique for attaching allows for the best tension and safety. Once you have 2-3 springs left in each gap, continue attaching the springs to the mat in a clockwise fashion. Tip: Do not do this stage too early to avoid problems attaching. Continue to attach the springs at 3 O Clock and 9 O Clock. Again this helps to create the best tension on both the mat and the frame. Finished Stage Handy Hint: For ease of attaching the springs place one hand on the frame to pull the spring towards you and place in the slot in the frame. 9
Safety Pads Step 1 Step 4 Lay your safety trampoline pads around the edges of your trampoline, ensuring the black loops are facing down. Proceed around the trampoline, folding down the side flap of the pads, to ensure the frame is now covered. Step 2 Finished Stage Place the pad tie through the black loop on the pads. Your trampoline will now look similar to the picture with attached safety pads. Great Job. Step 3 Loop the tie around the frame and loop the white head through the other end of the tie to secure it to the frame. 10
Safety Net Step 1 Step 4 Lay the trampoline safety net down on the trampoline ready to insert the safety poles. Tip: Line the net up with leg of the trampoline you wish to have the safety net opening at. Beginning with the sleeve closest to the zip opening insert the pole into the net sleeve, one at a time. Tip: When inserting the pole hold the pole and padding together to ensure the padding doesn t slide down for easy insert. Step 2 Step 5 Gather and join all of your safety poles together. These parts come in two pieces and click together as pictured. Tip: If you are having trouble, gently bang the piece on the ground to ensure piece fits together securely. Once connected slide pole padding over the poles. Once inserted, stand the pole up and clamp the pole to the U shaped upright leg, noting that the rounder edge of the clamp should face outwards. Each pole must be clamped with two clamps at the top and base of the pole as pictured. Tip: As you attach both clamps take care to ensure they are aligned with one another to avoid warping the safety poles. Step 3 Step 6 Once all poles are connected, lean them on the trampoline at the points where the U shaped leg uprights are. This is how the poles connect to the trampoline. Tip: To streamline your assembly lay of the two safety pole clamps at the base of each leg upright, for easy access when assembling. Work your way around the trampoline, continuing to insert the next 3 poles into the safety net sleeves and then clamp to the corresponding U shaped leg upright. Tip: As you tighten and clamp each pole, ensure the safety net/enclosure to either side of the pole is sitting below or underneath the edge of the frame. Continued next page 11
Safety Net (cont.) Step 7 Step 10 Once you have assembled 3 poles with the netting, insert all of the remaining poles into the netting sleeves before clamping. This avoids the net being too tight to insert poles into sleeves. It is also a good idea to place the protective blue chips on the edges of the trampoline clamps, for a cleaner and safer finish. Step 8 Finished Stage Continue clamping the sleeves to the poles one by one until complete. The trampoline safety pads should now look complete - great job!! Step 9 Once you have completed this and all poles are inserted into the safety net and clamped to the trampoline, attach the safety clips on the net to the underside of the trampoline. These clips are found on the bottom edge of the net and are simply clipped onto the triangle on the mat as pictured. Complete this for all safety clips. 12
Safety Surround & Ladder Step 1 Finished Safety Surround Line the safety surround up with the position you want it to be. Great job, your pocket surround is now complete. Tip: Most customers prefer the pockets on the safety surround to be to the left or right side of the safety nets opening. Step 2 Ladder Hook your ladder over the trampoline frame, positioning it at the entrance of trampoline. Ensure that it is securely attached. Once attached it is now safe to use. Tie each tie to the corresponding leg in a clockwise direction. Starting with the tie at the upper part of the pole first and then at the base. 13
Weather Cover Step 1 Step 2 Lay your weather cover over the trampoline. This should fit similar to a fitted sheet. At intervals on the weather cover there are elastic straps with hooks. Pull the elastic clip through and clip it onto a mat triangle. Tip: If you are unable to reach underneath the net edge, simply undo one of the clips holding on the trampoline net and then replace after fastening the weather cover. Anchor Kit Oz Trampolines newly designed anchor kits are designed to keep your trampoline grounded. Installation will take 5 minutes and you will need a hammer. Step 1 Step 2 Each anchor kit consists of a high quality steel peg and a leg clamp. Place the peg next to the middle of the trampoline leg and firstly wet the ground if dry, then either screw or hammer the peg into the ground until the loop at the top is level with the raised part of the leg. Then take the leg clamp and place around the leg and through the peg and tighten. Finished Stage You now have a completed weather cover to keep your trampoline safe during harsh weather conditions. Note Please note these clamps are designed to work with Oz Trampolines model trampolines as the trampoline legs are screwed together and to the trampoline frame. Some trampoline brands do not use screws to keep the trampoline together and this anchor kit would not be suitable. 14
Trampoline Extras: Basketball Kit Parts List Backboard: Step 1 Poles You have 4 straight poles and 1 bent pole - depending on your trampoline net will depend on which poles you use but you will have 1 pole left over at the end. Secure the plate to the backboard with screws and washers provided. Once secure, further secure the backboard by placing 4 screws into each corner of the backboard plate. This allows for extra strength and safety. Backboard: Step 2 Turn Backboard over and place ring onto board so the 4 holes in the ring and backboard match up, then place the 4 screws through the holes. Now tighten screws at rear of backboard so ring is firmly attached to the backboard. Screws and brackets in kit Backboard: Step 3 Spring loaded ring and net Backboard The next stage is to attach the already assembled pole to the backboard. With the black backing plate securely in place (STEP 1), line the pole up in the middle of the plate, and secure into place with a saddle piece, using the washersand screws provided. Continued next page 15
Trampoline Extras: Basketball Kit (cont.) Backboard: Step 4 Backboard: Step 6 The next stage is to secure the basketball pole and backboard to the netting. Tip: This step requires two people to ensure parts are attached safely and correctly. Firstly choose the position that you would like to place your basketball ring. Tip: We recommend placing it at least one pole away from the net opening to avoid collisions. Once a position is chosen, proceed to secure the U shaped bolts (approximately midpoint of the pole is the best place to start), around the existing netting and netting pole. Then (this is where a second person is required), proceed to place the basketball kit pole against the spacer and secure it with the nuts provided. Tip: This stage will require pressure from someone inside the netting and another person outside pushing against the clamp, to ensure the pole is attached securely. Repeat this process at the top of the netting and the base of the netting to ensure the basketball kit is securely attached. Backboard: Step 5 Backboard: Finished Stage Then secure the U shaped bolt by placing the black spacer over the top. Now you are finished simply inflate the basketball using the pump provided to start playing - have fun! 16
Trampoline Extras: Tent WARNING This tent is not designed to be permanently erected. The tent should be taken down during windy or rainy conditions. Step 1 Step 4 The first step in assembling your trampoline tent is to assemble the roof. Now insert the end of the fibreglass rods into the pockets at each side of the trampoline tent roof. Firstly lay out the fibreglass rods as shown to the left. Step 2 Step 5 With the roof lining laying facedown insert the fibreglass rods through the sleeves on a diagonal basis. Once completed your trampoline tent roof should look like this. Step 3 Step 6 Once all fibreglass rods are through all sleeves your roof lining should look as shown here. The next step is to place the roof loosely over your trampoline safety net. (Please note on larger trampoline tents you will obviously have more fibreglass rods than shown.) Continued next page 17
Trampoline Extras: Tent (cont.) Step 7 Step 10 Clamps must be placed within 5cms of the top of the net poles. Once completed and all clips are secure your trampoline tent roof should look as pictured here. Step 8 Step 11 At the same time you can also clip in the round holding clips ready to clip to the roof lining. Please note your clips may be metal or elastic Now starting on the section of your trampoline tent where the entrance through your trampoline net is, fix the first section of Velcro strip to the middle Velcro strip on the roof lining. Continue attaching Velcro strips all around your trampoline in a clockwise or anticlockwise manner. Step 9 Step 12 You will be now able to thread the round holding clips through the attachments on the roof lining. Lining up at each leg on your trampoline you will see black straps. These need to be clipped behind the leg of your trampoline. This further secures your trampoline tent to the trampoline. 18
Trampoline Extras: Tent (cont.) Finished Stage Now you have set up your trampoline Roof or Tent, it will create hours more enjoyment for your children. Please note that this accessory is not designed to be permanently erected and needs to be removed during strong winds and heavy rain. 19
