The purpose of the organization shall be to serve as a medium of exchange of ideas, information and parts for admirers of the two passenger Ford Thunderbird and to aid them in their efforts to restore and preserve the car in its original condition. Section 2. To unite in a central organization all owners of the Ford Thunderbird who are interested in restoring and maintaining the automobile in a manner to attract prestige and respect within the community. It shall further be the purpose of this club to help those owners become better acquainted, encourage and maintain among its members the spirit of good fellowship and fair play through sponsored activities involving family participation and the enjoyment of the two passenger Ford Thunderbird. 2 Whippany is were the CTCI Region 1 Convention was going to be held. When we made our reservations for the Marriott Hotel in Whippany. Marriott did not even know they had a hotel there. We had to help them. We gave them their address! We left on the 20th July and were gone for 32 days and around trip of 7347 miles. Our T-Bird ran great used only one quart of oil. The highest gas price paid, you guess it was Oregon $3.26 for premium. The lowest was Laramie $2.35. Our first stop was the Henry Ford Museum.We found the museum to be very interesting to say the least. Amazing person, the insight he had was incredible. Next we went on a Factory Tour, we walked on a cat walk around and above the assembly plant. We could watch the people below assemble Ford F-150. Next went to the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. There are 6 floors, we spent 4 hours just on the first floor. We were there all day, a beautiful place. We went down the road to the Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. The history of the game and players was very interesting to us which are fans of the game. We had not planned this, we went to Mansfield, Ohio. The movie Shawshank Redemption was filmed. An old Ohio State boys Reformatory build in 1886 closed in The East Cell Block remains the largest free standing steel cell block in the world at 6 tiers high. Great View! ha ha On to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania toured the battlefields by horse back. Having horses ourselves we really enjoyed the sights. Of course, we had to stop at Hershey's Chocolate World in Hershey, Pennsylvania. We had to have at least one Chocolate Kiss. Milton S. Hershey was another great inventor like Edison and Ford. We finally arrived in Whippany for the T-Bird convention. We were told there was over 100 cars participating. It was truly a good turn out. We were glad we came. Our T-Bird was parked under some trees. We had a lot of rain and wind,cause a tree limb to break off and come down on the trunk lid. It's fixable relax!! The planned bus trip into New York City was fantastic. The guide we had did a wonderful job showing us the sights. We went up the of Rockefeller Center. Which is called the Top of the Rock. Also, is the best observation sight to view the Big Apple, Freedom Tower and Empire State Building. Next we went to the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. The exhibits for some people could be over overwhelming for them but tells the real story. We cannot forget!! The next day we cruised around the entire island of Manhattan. Another beautiful day we could see the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and Brooklyn Bridge just great. The trip home went very smooth. Glad to be back, TOP DOWN of course!!! 3 September 16th Car rally and lunch We will meet at BJ s Coffee Shop in Forest Grove at 9:30 am. Park in the Safeway parking lot closest to the Dollar Store. This is a rally, so we will receive clues to guide us to the next place. We will get instructions and hopefully have lunch together if we don t get lost. Cliff Colvin and Marliyn Kirkland are our leaders.

4 Beaches Cruise In at PIR September 13th Any Questions Call Betti Mathews October Tech Session at the 290 Local Plumbers Union Hall SW Teton Ave. During out October Tech Session John Sailors will be leading a classroom type discussion on Thunderbird brakes, ignihon systems and grounding problems unique to 55 and 56 Thunderbird front turn signals. He will have Power Point presentahons for all three areas. Come prepared with your thinking cap on and your queshons ready. We will end the day at a local restaurant yet to be determined.

5 August 19th Bar B Que Picnic at the Wagnild s 2pm The club had a wonderful pot luck on August 19th. The weather cooperated and everyone had a good day to go cruising a li<le north to Wagnild's home in Ridgefield. There were 42 people that came in 16 li<le birds and other cars to enjoy the Saturday agernoon. The food all fell into place with plenty of salads, chicken, pulled pork, and desserts. 7 POP-UP Pop Up Cruise It was a wonderful summer evening for cruising. Tricia and Davy Crockett joined Marilyn and Al Hillier at Abby's Pizza in Gresham. The pizza was good and the camaraderie was enjoyable. Because we tried to start at 6 pm the heavy traffic may have prevented others from joining us. Maybe next time.
