2 Ac#vity and Program Schedule Summit would like to welcome you to the Ac#vi#es and Programs for Term 2, In the following pages you will find details in a easy to print version of all the Programs and Ac#vi#es for Term 2. You can also view this at any #me on our website at under Ac#vi#es & Programs. To request a booking, go to the Bookings Page and make your booking under Term 2 Ac#vity & Programs on the website. All of the bookings will be confirmed prior to the ac#vity. You will need to be registered with Summit prior to anending any ac#vi#es, for more informa#on regarding registra#on admin@summitdisability.org.au.

3 Bookings and Cancella#ons All Bookings to be made by Friday 31 st March BOOKINGS To request a posi#on on the ac#vity/program you must place a booking through the Site Once you have placed a booking you will receive an automated reply containing your booking details. You can also your bookings to admin@summitdisability.org.au. Please do not turn up on the day of the ac#vity without a booking or contac#ng a staff member from summit. CONFIRMATIONS You will need to be confirmed on each ac#vity/program before you anend. A confirma#on will be sent at least 4 weeks prior to the ac#vity or by the confirma#on date. If you have not received a confirma#on prior to the ac#vity/program you will need to contact Summit as your posi#on has not been confirmed. CANCELLATIONS All cancela#ons must be done in wri#ng or at admim@summitdisability.org.au To avoid any cancella#on fees, cancella#ons must be made at least 2 weeks prior to the ac#vity/ program date. 5 April Holiday Program Tuesday 11 th April- Easter Show Join us when we anend the Royal Easter Show, its when the country comes to the city. We will milk some cows, watch some wood chopping and check out the Farmyard nursery to name a few. If you wish to go on some rides or buy show bags please bring some extra spending money COST: $50 + spending money Wednesday 12 th April- MariJme Museum Come with us as we step back in #me at the Mari#me Museum, as we learn about Australian mari#me history, check out the HMAS vampire and HMAS Onslow submarine. Thursday 13 th April- Kiama Blowhole Today we will travel south to the beau#ful Coastal town of Kiama, where we will check out the iconic Kiama Blowhole COST: $20

6 April Holiday Program Tuesday 18 th April- Bowling Today we are going back to an old favorite, we are going Bowling. So bring your bowling shoes and custom balls and try to beat the staff if you can. Wednesday 19 th April- Manly Join us as we make the trip to iconic Manly Beach. If the weather is right and #me permits us we will catch the ferry, just watch out for those wave when we go past the Heads. COST: $20 Thursday 20 th April- Movies For our last holiday ac#vity come with us as we checkout the latest blockbuster movies. So get the popcorn ready to senle down relax and enjoy the movie. COST: $30

7 Girls Group Saturday 13 th May- Castle Hills Farmers Markets Today is all about fresh healthy ea#ng!! We are going to head to Castle hill showground where we will buy all our ingredients for our gourmet salad pack. Further details will be provided on the day as to where we will create our super healthy lunch. Let s get our thinking caps on girls and come with some ideas of what we could create. Will it be a Thai beef salad, Broccolini FaNoush, or something of your own crea#on? Netball Girls that are anending will be transported to the game aler lunch. START: The Junc#on Carpark Baulkham Hills 9am Sunday 25 th June Mountains Day Who loves The Blue Mountains in June? Rug up girls we are off to enjoy winter in the mountains. We will start with a hot Chocolate in Leura before doing the Skyway across the mountains and finish off our day with lunch in Katoomba. Don t forget those jackets and beanies. We are headed to the home of racing in Sydney's west Rosehill Gardens. We will be invi#ng the boys, so dress to impress. Places are limited Times will be confirmed closer to the date. WHAT: Krav Maga is a self defence system that is known as one of the best forms of self defence available because of its no nonsense approach to avoiding and dealing with many of the threats that we face today in modern society. We will learn how to iden#fy, avoid and deal with threats so we can protect ourselves and others and can go home safely. This will be an introduc#on to some of the basics such as awareness of your surrounding, iden#fying and avoiding a threatening situa#on and what to do if you are in a threatening situa#on. We will also look at some techniques that are specific for women. If you are interested, please place your name on the interest list on the bookings page and we will coordinate #mes and dates with all of those interested We would love to hear from you if you would like to develop these skills, if so we will run sessions during this term. We would also love to know if there are any specific skills you would like to learn to specific treats or scenarios.

10 Man Group Saturday 13 th May- Bike Riding Saddle up boys, as it is #me to hop on your bikes for a DAY OF PEDALING. You will need to bring your own bike, helmet and a backpack with a packed lunch and water bonle, as we are going to cover a fair bit of ground riding from North ParramaNa to Sydney Olympic Park at Homebush and back again. Make sure your bike is in good working order and you are able to cover the distance. If you have any queries in rela#on to this riding day please don t hesitate to contact a member of the Summit Team. We will learn how to iden#fy, avoid and deal with threats so we can protect ourselves and others and can go home safely. 13 Summit Movie Club We have had some interest about star#ng a small group that gets together about once a month to go to the movies. We would meet at Castle Towers Event Cinemas on a week night / alernoon to view a movie and have something to eat. The group would also look at upcoming movies and plan for future dates and #mes. The out of pocket costs will depend on the cost of the #ckets and dinner op#ons but should be between $20 and $40 per night. Times for this program would change depending which movie is chosen. 14 A Night on the Town We have had some interest about organising a group to go and see some live music around the Hills area on a Saturday night. The group would aim to meet every 4-6 weeks depending on what is on and the loca#on. The ac#vity would be staffed by at least 1 summit staff at all #mes. The mighty Eels are playing at Homebush at the Olympic Stadium, and we will be u#lising the supporters bus and/or public transport to and from the stadium.

15 ParramaNa Eels Supporters Group Summit Disability is running a ParramaNa Eels supporter group to anend all of the Eels home games. We have secured a limited number of seats for this years games and we would love for you to join us in experiencing the live NRL ac#on. The mighty Eels are playing at Homebush at the Olympic Stadium, and we will be u#lising the supporters bus and/or public transport to and from the stadium. The first scheduled game is for late March (25 th ) vs. the Sharks, last years reigning premiers Once the group has been confirmed we will decide on the details on: Game of the week Mee#ng place Dinner

16 Monday Plan & Discover The Monday Plan and Discover Group was a great success in term 1 and will be con#nuing in term 2. Everyone who has par#cipated in the group has shown impressive skills in decision making, planning and #me management. Due to the popularity of this group, priority will be given to those people who can commit to the whole term. This also enables the par#cipants to develop their skills and build on previous weeks. Again the majority of ou#ngs will be by public transport leaving from Baulkham Hills. 20 Summit Socials The Summit Socials is a social group held on Wednesday evenings with some familiar ac#vi#es mixed in with new and exci#ng events. Summit Social Groups will be held every Wednesday night and include ac#vi#es for both groups. Wednesday programs will include evenings at Baulkham Hills Sports Club, Castle Hill 10 Pin Bowling and The Castle Hill Tavern. While Baulkham Hills Sports Club is s#ll a popular venue, we will also be having monthly 10 Pin Bowling Nights at Castle Hill. Here we will arrange people into teams that will bowl it out to be the Summit Social Champions. We have also booked the upstairs room at The Castle Hill Tavern, for 2 Wednesdays per month. Here one group can shoot some pool, listen to music or dance the night away aler enjoying a meal at the Bistro. Each week will alternate with one group staying in, and the other going out for the evening.
