2 INTRODUCTION.. Portlethen Academy is delighted to offer a range of trips, activities and experiences to first and second year pupils during GOOSE To begin the process of allocating pupils to their choice of trips this booklet illustrates the proposed trips. There will be an additional programme of activities being put together for pupils who elect for a school based activity Please note that 22rd 24 th May are not additional holiday days and your child is expected to be on a school trip or in school throughout. A timetable of classes will be provided for pupils who do not wish to participate in any of the activities.

4 ACTIVITIES TO CHOOSE FROM.. COLOUR ME LONDON London 4 days 3 nights (overnight travel Tue into Wed- & daytime travel Sat arriving approx.10pm) ESTIMATED COST MAXIMUM NUMBER 35 MINIMUM NUMBER 32 After the success of Colour Me London 2017 & 2018, we are venturing on Colour Me London 2019! With the itinerary tweaked slightly since 2018 we are hoping this will be the best London experience yet! You are in for a magical trip as we visit the Harry Po tter Studios and fly away to Oz in a spell binding performance of W icked. Have a giggle at the Play That Goes W rong and ponder at the many abstract art pieces in Tate Modern. Interact with exciting exhibits and experiments at the National Science Museum and meet the Dinosaurs at the Natural History Museum. Grab a picture with many of the life-like celebs in Madame Tussauds and wander the many stalls in Covent Garden. Staying in Premier Inn Heathrow where they have the comfiest beds and amazing buffet breakfast. W e will be enjoying three meals out in restaurants which include the Hard Rock Café.

5 EDINBURGH ROCKS 2019 Edinburgh 3 days 2 nights leaving 9am Wed returning approx. 7pm Fri ESTIMATED COST 275 MAXIMUM NUMBER 32 MINIMUM NUMBER 20 This trip will introduce students to some of the many attractions that our Capital City has to offer. Pupils will visit Edinburgh Castle, the Edinburgh Dungeon, Our Dynamic Earth, view Edinburgh from the Camera Obscura, cruise on the Firth of Forth, have a Cinema trip as well as a spooky evening ghost walk. Please note that this is not a shopping trip. W h ilst there may be some spare time to buy gifts and souvenirs, there will not be opportunities to go shopping in Edinburgh.

6 HORSING AROUND Glen Tanar Equestrian Centre, Aboyne 3 - leaving 8.45am returning 4.15pm ESTIMATED COST MAXIMUM NUMBER 12 MINIMUM NUMBER 8 Pupils will be transported to and from Glen Tanar by minibus each day and will be split into groups, depending on riding ability to undertake lessons, hacks and stable management. No previous riding experience is necessary. Riding hats and boots can be provided by the Centre.

London 4 days 3 nights (overnight travel Tue into Wed- & daytime travel Sat arriving approx. 9pm) ESTIMATED COST 500 MAXIMUM NUMBER 40 MINIMUM NUMBER 36 Exciting and energetic trip to London that focuses on the theatre aspects of a trip to busy central London. Travel by bus with our own private coach, coach drivers and tour guide Enjoy a trip on the London Eye and river boat cruise, soaking up the big sites of London 2 evening performances of fantastic top hit musicals 1 full day at Thorpe Park Trip to W estfield shopping centre to enjoy the fantastic range of shops available Theatre workshop at Pineapple Dance Studios 4* accommodation outside central London Breakfast and Dinner is covered by total costs full English for breakfast and full menu choice for evenings meals at popular branded restaurants

Experience the thrills of Thorpe Park, alongside two magnificent musical performances in London s West End. Enjoy the marvels of London s impressive landmarks, the London Eye and 4D Experience and plenty of retail therapy on the fabulous walking tour. Dining in style - our evening meals will all be located in the heart of London for easy access to our theatre shows and time to experience the cult ure and culinary delights of Co vent Gardens Taking in the sights of Leicester Square including the famous M&M Store and Lego Store, it promises to be an action -packed time. Perhaps we ll be lucky enough to see a film premiere whilst we re there! Travelling in luxury by train from Aberdeen and stay ing at the very central Royal National Hotel in Russell Square, will allow us to hit all of the above in style. The hotel includes full English breakfast too! If you re up for three days of fabulous fun get aboard!

9 ACTIVITIES TO CHOOSE FROM.. PORTY GOES WILD Craggan Outdoors, Grantown-on-Spey 3 days (2 nights) ESTIMATED COST 250 MAXIMUM NUMBER 24 MINIMUM NUMBER 20 3 Days of action packed adventure at the Craggan Outdoor Centre in the rugged Highlands! Activities will include archery, rock climbing, gorge walking, raft building, l aser tag and a nice cosy campfire at the end of the day. We will be staying in the bu nkhouses at the Outdoor Centre. It s going to be a trip full of fun and adventure, not to be missed! For activities and accommodation see:

10 PREMIER LEAGUE PORTY Manchester/Liverpool 3 days 3 nights dep 3.30pm Tue, ret 10pm Fri ESTIMATED COST 415 MAXIMUM NUMBER 44 MINIMUM NUMBER 40 Experience the life of a premier league player in this action packed trip. The pupils will enjoy visits to and behind the scenes tours of three of the UK s most impressive stadiums Old Trafford, home of Manchester United FC, the Etihad Stadium, home of M anchester City FC as well as Anfleld, home of Liverpool FC. Further to this the pupils will have the opportunity to enjoy a coaching session from the coaching staff of a Premier League club, compete in a challenge match against local opposition as well a s enjoy other activities such as a visit to the National Football Museum in Manchester, a game of 10 pin bowling and a shopping visit to the Trafford Centre. The pupils will stay in the Bolton FC Stadium Complex Hotel in the outskirts of Manchester. All meals will be included in the cost of trip.

11 WET AND WILD Loch Insh, Kingussie 3 days 2 nights dep 9.30am Wed, ret 4pm Fri ESTIMATED COST 250 MAXIMUM NUMBER 40 MINIMUM NUMBER 10 A wet and wild adventure afloat and onshore! We will travel by coach to Loch Ins h Outdoor Centre for a 3 day/2 night trip, staying in comfortable chalets right next to the Loch. Participants will experience : 4 water based activities - windsurfing, canoeing, stand up paddle boarding and sailing 2 land based activities - mountain bikin g and snowboarding. Activities are provided by fully qualified instructors and are suitable for beginners. All meals are provided in the Boathouse Restaurant at Loch Ins h and we will end our trip with a BBQ on the Thursday evening. For activities, acco mmodation and dining see:
