1 Continued from p. 5 MINUTES There have been four volunteers from the general membership who have been unable to continue due to health and scheduling concerns. More volunteers are needed. Discussion/Action Planting in entry monuments: Motion by Linda Wilcox to appoint a committee chairperson for the replanting of the monument planters, who will plan the type of plants, arrange for the planting and coordinate with Hemet City to reactivate the watering system. The chairperson will present the board with the plan and its cost before proceeding with the project. Discussion by Mike Madrid who was concerned about whether the City would be willing to turn on the water and the selection of flowering plants versus more drought resistant plants. Don Kritzer thought the water would come from one of the nearby wells. Motion approved. No volunteers came forth at the meeting. Discussion Items CC&R Amendments: As proposed at the January and February meetings the Executive Board is seeking approval to (1) require that paperwork for lease by renter be completed and accepted before renter moves in as opposed to current requirement that it be done within 15 days after moving in. (2) limit the number of rentals with a cap of 12-15%. Administrator Nadene Funkhouser was not able to attend the meeting for further explanation, so discussion and possible action to be continued. Individual Director s and Committee Chairs Comments: (1) Christine Collins reported for Safety & Security that there was a break-in at the RV parking lot with some items being stolen. In another incident a resident went to check on her cat in the garage to find a homeless man sleeping there. The police were called. Christine reminded everyone to report any unusual incidents to her or directly to the police. Some mail boxes were open on Cherry Drive, and Christine reminded residents to use caution when mailing correspondence. Don Kritzer stated that over the years he has found the City of Hemet Police to be very responsive to calls coming from Seven Hills. He added that some residents want a meet and greet with Chief of Police Brown, so Chief Brown will be the speaker at the April meeting. Don alerted us to look at the sign for Seven Hills because the light is back on. Meeting adjourned 6:56 PM Susan Caraveau, SHPOA Secretary 12

4 Continued from p. 9 SECURITY & SAFETY drove off. He was seen talking to another homeowner who was also outside. Christine called Omaha Steaks and they do NOT have sales people, they take orders over the phone or through their website. But they would be interested in knowing who is impersonating them/their products! I would recommend you do NOT buy from these "salespeople". and if possible, get the car license plate and let me know. 3/6/17 Kiwi Circle homeowner also won a Mercedes Benz from PCH, but this time had to go to BofA to pay for registration fee. Christine called (Austin TX) and the man on voic sounded all drugged up, so left a message and told him so and that he was a scammer. He called back several times and went straight to my "scammer voice mail". 3/7/17 Christine received a message from "Consumer Legal Services" and called them back on a different number. They "mediate" your criminal or civil claims. Number is from San Fernando... SCAM and told them so. 3/7/17 Tamarack Lane. When homeowner opened garage door, there was a well dressed young man with a tie on, vest, dark trousers standing there. Homeowner told him he was on her property and to step back. He said he wanted to clean her carpets (she doesn't have any) he then suggested cleaning floor grout. He was NOT dressed for such work and was told to leave, which he did. 3/8/17 Basswood Court. Hispanic man, tall, braided hair with a big black dog walked up to homeowner's door, but did NOT ring bell. He also had pen and paper in hand. Next thing, homeowner sees him walking in her backyard, he also turned on the faucet, maybe for the dog, and left. He looked like a gardener, but obviously was not. When seeing someone in your backyard without permission, I would suggest calling the Police with a good description of the person. 3/8/17 Banyan Tree. Two young persistent Hispanic males offering their services for work "and referred by friend Kathy around the corner". No such Kathy is known to homeowner, they finally left. 15 3/10/17 Seven Hills Drive. Several times when homeowner who has Parkinson's walks his Corgi, a smallish grey/brown car with a bad paint job, when driving by, the driver/ passenger blows a high pitch whistle that scares the dog and can lead to homeowner falling. Anyone witnessing this, please report it, take down the license plate if possible and give me a description of the riders. Thank you! AS ALWAYS - First and foremost, if you are in imminent danger call 911. The Police phone number for non-emergency reporting of suspicious activities is Crime Prevention tips for this month Credit card SCAM. Credit card fraud department calls you, says your card has some unusual activities, and after giving you his ID and phone #, he says he'll start an investigation but he needs the last 3 numbers at the back of your card. The REAL fraud department already has that information, if you give those 3 numbers, your card will then be used fraudulently. CALL the real fraud department # at the back of your card, just to ensure you just received a legitimate call.
