4 VALLEY COWBOY CHURCH I love this valley! The mysterious Spring Valley Rock Club left many beautiful painted rocks on the church property! What an inspiration to be working among the cacti and find a rock painted specifically for you! We found a rock with a cowgirl duck, a He is Risen rock, a faith rock, etc. Then, to my dismay, they disappeared! I hear through the grapevine that they re-distribute the rocks to other locations. Please, please don t re-collect our angel rock or the beautiful patterned one! They mean a lot! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! The Besser family was here on June 14 th! One more time before they re-locate to Branson, Missouri. We had an awesome time praising and honoring our Lord! It was also very nostalgic knowing that it will be a while until we see them again! They are always in our prayers and our church tithes to their ministry, so we are in the know as to their location in the U.S. Their newsletter keeps us up-to-date. If you haven t visited us - ever come and see what the Valley Cowboy Church is all about and what wonderful plans we and the Lord have! Sunday Service 10:30 am Bible Study Wednesday 11:30 am Food Distribution on call (We are still negotiating on the big truck coming in once a month.) Join us! Blessings! Pastor Jacki -- To Gayle Christian who solicited donations, planned, prepared, and produced the High Tea to provide all the funding needed to have the Dell Arte group to our area. It was a lot of hard work, and Gayle did a truly great job! --To all the residents who have taken the threat of wildfire to heart and are mowing the extremely tall weeds on their property/properties. A special expression of approval to the residents who are also helping their neighbors reduce the fuel load on their property. --To P.G. & E. for hiring Mario s Tree Service to work on taking down trees under power lines. --To Bruce Evans and the other road repair volunteers for filling pot holes. -- To Oscar Sager for mowing around the Community Center. NO THANK YOU!! --To The people in the silver Mustang and the blue SUV who are careless of their neighbors with their loud music and reckless driving. --To the people who continue to waste our tax money by vandalizing the campground and other areas of our community. SPRING VALLEY LAKES PROPERTY OWNERS ASSOCIATION (SVLPOA) 2017 MEMBERSHIP FORM (Annual dues to be paid by January 31) Date Individual(s) $10.00 per person (minimum 18 years old) First Name(s):, Last Name Phone: Street Address: Mailing Address (if different) City: ZIP: Please mail newsletter to address shown above. Please send the newsletter to my at Send this coupon and a check for dues to SVLPOA, 3000 Wolf Creek Rd., Clearlake Oaks, CA 95423, or bring to a SVLPOA event at the Community Center. Meetings are on the third Thursday of the month at the Spring Valley Community Center. SVLPOA Suggested Changes The Spring Valley Lakes Property Owners Assn. is considering some changes, and they need the opinions of the current membership. At the August meeting the members present will be discussing and voting on the following proposals. Change the Bylaws so the membership meetings change from a monthly format to a quarterly format. Purchase a riding lawn mower to assist property owners in clearing plant growth. An operator will need to be found, and fees for this service need to be set. These subjects may be discussed at the June and July meetings, but will be voted on during the August meeting. Your opinion is important in the activities of the SVLPOA. If you let other people make the decisions for you, you have no reason to complain about the results. June, 2017 Spring Valley Lakes Property Owners Association 5

6 CAMPGROUND What is going on with the shower room in the campground? Day or night it seems there is a line waiting to use them. When the shower rooms were added it was never the intent of the Campground Committee to supple the whole community with a place to shower! The bathrooms are a constant target of vandalism that has cost a fortune of our tax money to maintain, and who broke the lock off the door and clogged the toilet? If you are asking what the $18 campground fee you just paid is used for, this is a large part of it. Why should the Campground Committee and the community even try to make things nice for people around here when a very few are bent on destroying everything they touch? These vandals are taking away from everyone else who lives here. Trashing the place where you live does not make you cool! Thank you to Oscar Sager for bringing his electric welder to the campground and working on the men s bathroom door. It is a great improvement. Joe G. Welz, SVCC CAMPGROUND MEETING There will be a community campground meeting on June 8, 2017 in the Community Center starting at 7:00 pm. The committee will go over projects we have planned for the upcoming fiscal year and where we are with items brought up at the last meeting. We welcome your ideas and suggestions. Among the topics to be covered are: new heating/cooling system for the Community Center; bathroom and shower building improvements; gate and boundary security; and, trees, brush and varmint clearing. Please come to this meeting. We need your ideas and suggestions. See you on the 8 th! Just an FYI the showers in the campground are for campers. They are not intended to be used on a regular basis by residents. Our septic is not designed for that type of use. Please help us keep things working as designed. Thanks Helen Mitcham LAKE RECOVERY COMMITTEE A few Wednesdays ago Congressman Garamendi's Legislative Director visited from Washington, D.C. and was given a tour of the lake project including permits, Arial photos, plans, drafting and original plans of lake/dam from Since he grew up in Woodland and his family still farms rice there, he took a special interest to secure funding for this project. I have received several funding sources already from him under Prop. 1 that our Project fits like a glove and qualifies for funding. Special Districts is also seeking funding sources. The Lake recovery committee has made good progress in the last 40 days. First Wednesday of June, 9 a.m. Lake meeting and CSA 2 meeting at 7 p.m. Regards, Mark Currier CSA 2 Lake Recovery Chair June, 2017 Spring Valley Lakes Property Owners Association 6

7 President s Report We've had an exciting month of May in Spring Valley. Thanks to all the CERT members for organizing the Expo and to all the Firemen, Sheriff, Red Cross, OES, REACH, Cal Fire, North Shore Fire, Search & Rescue, BLM, and the POA for the great Hot Doggy lunch. Thanks to all the men who made our Mother's day special by doing all the work at the Breakfast this month. We had a wonderful turnout with a little over 100 people. The new French Toast on the menu was a big hit and will continue as a monthly regular. The waffles will be changed to Belgian Waffles. After breakfast came the 11th annual Ducky Race. The creek was perfect for catching the ducks. First place winner was Donna Claus, 2nd place was Wendy Overin, and 3rd was Jim Cary. Thanks to all who showed up to cheer & those that caught the ducks at the finish line. Check out Oscar Sager's video on Face Book. I think we should have him as our permanent announcer. Then there was Gayle Christian's wonderful, elegant "High Tea". Beautiful tea cups & settings on all the tables. Wonderful decorations & delicious food and tea. The beautiful singing provided by "My Diva's". A wonderful silent auction that had so many great gifts to bid on and thanks to all her crew that helped make the event a fabulous success. By the time this Newsletter is published the Del Arte Theatre Group will be having their final Dinner & Show on June 1st. Thanks to them for coming to our Valley as they are enjoyed by many. Thank you to all the Valley residents for supporting your POA. Sonja Jones, President People working together for a better Community! C. E. R. T. Community Emergency Response Team We at CERT wish to thank all the people of the valley that showed up at our Safety Expo on May 13th. A very special thanks to all those who participated in it. Northshore Fire, Cal Fire, BLM, Reach medical transport, Red Cross, Search and Rescue and, of course, OES with their boss, Dale, and his wife were here. Sorry that lots of people missed an opportunity to meet and greet our First responders. And we can't forget the POA members busy cooking and selling hot dogs and Mark Currier making those great snow cones. A good time for everyone and, again, sorry to all who missed out on the fun. Thank you again to all those involved and those who took the time to stop in. Your 2017 CERT captain; John Jones BICYCLE RAFFLE Tickets are now being sold for a child-size BMX bicycle raffle. The drawing will be on July 4 th during the campground activities. Call for tickets, or purchase them during activities at the Community Center. Upcoming!
