1 ACT! is the student charity group of the College of Europe, created this year by 15 motivated students from 13 different countries to create events mobilizing students and administration of the promotion around common local and international causes. 3 drop off clothes What we did We organized a whole-day event where students and administration could bring the clothes they did not want anymore. For whom We gave all these clothes to Télévestaire, an association in Bruges offering clothes to homeless people. We gathered many bags of clothes!

4 soup day What we did Thanks to the help and generosity of the canteen, we were able to sell the soup of the day for 50 cents the bowl, to raise funds for the campaign of For whom For the association , which aims at raising funds for development aid. It was launching an action in all Flanders to raise money for fighting against hunger. 166

5 movember contest What we did We organized during the whole month of November a moustache contest. Students and administration could bet on the potential winner, motivating him to keep on growing his moustache and contributing at the same time to our cause. Congratulations to the two winners: Tomas Garcia Albornoz and Thibault Heinkens! For whom For the association Movember, for the fight against prostrate cancer through an increase in early cancer detection, diagnosis and effective treatments, and ultimately a reduction in the number of preventable deaths. 423,76

6 house race What we did We participated in the 3rd Bruges Christmas run - the Kerstloop - organized by the city of Bruges. All the subscription fees were dedicated to the cause. For whom City raised funds through this race for various local associations. Many students participating and contributing to the funds raised by the city

7 christmas drink What we did During the Christmas Drink organized by the College of Europe, we helped in serving drinks and especially selling Christmas candles. These candles were homemade by asylum-seekers in a centre near Bruges. For whom The funds raised by the sell of the candles were given back to the asylum-seekers centre near Bruges. The funds of the drinks were given to Médecins Sans Frontières for its medical assistance in the Philippines. 381,70

8 felting workshop What we did A felting workshop was organized by Renée Maeyaert and we actively helped in finding participants. For whom For the association Kinderkankerfonds for helping children with cancer. 26 participants

9 baking contest What we did In partnership with the College of Europe cafeteria, the Phoenix, ACT! organized a baking contest where students could cook for free cakes to sell. The best cooker received a prize during an event where the band played a whole afternoon at the Phoenix. For whom For Médecins Sans Frontières for its medical assistance in the Philippines. 137

10 Valentine s Auction What we did ACT! organized the Valentine s day auctions where students could offer a date proposition. Students could bid for a specific person and date proposition, with all money contributing to the cause. The winners of the bids then had the dates for the Saint Valentine s day: free French breakfast, nice restaurants, dancing classes etc ACT! Also organized a sale of chocolates that students could send to other students as an anonymous Valentine s gift. 12 Intradeps Quiz What we did We organized a huge contest between 15 teams from the 5 College of Europe s departments (Economics, Politics, International Relations, Law and Administration) in the form of a Quiz. The winner this year has been the International Relations Department thanks to the following team: Federica Pesce, Sandra Gil, Daan Elders, Paula Lopez Reig and Lorenzo Rosati. Congratulations! 13 dwars door brugge What we did We participated in the Dwars Door Bruges Race organized by the city of Bruges and raised funds through the purchase of T-shirts sold by the association GoAhead! For whom For GoAhead!, a NGO which was founded by a former student of the College of Europe and which has as a main goal to improve educational conditions in Southern Africa. 72

14 Solidarity week What we did Solidarity week for the floods in the Balkans. Thanks to the help and generosity of the canteen, we organized a sale of fancy food cooked by different students and staff members. We also had the College band play in the canteen until 10pm.
