1 Jasper Camp 2016 Accommodation Information This document contains all the information you should need for the camp. 1: Accommodation 2: Food 3: Schedule 4: What to bring 5: All additional Information #1: Accommodation. The three different age groups are split in to three different accommodation sites: Junior Male, Junior Female, and Juvenile Girls in the hostel. Juvenile boys, Midget boys and Midget girls in churches. Please read all the accommodation information under your age group Junior Age Group: Male and Female Accommodation: HI Jasper Hostel. Location: 1 Skytram Rd, Jasper, AB T0E 1E0 Sleeping: Dorms: Chaperones: Do not bring any sheets, pillows, or sleeping bags. All your sleeping linens are provided All females will be staying in one large dorm room All males will be staying in one large dorm room There are three female and three male chaperones for the HI Hostel group Food Provided: Dinner Friday, all three meals Saturday, Breakfast and Lunch Sunday. Please bring your own snacks/workout food. 1

2 Juvenile Age Group: Female Accommodation: The female Juvie group will be sleeping in the HI Jasper Hostel along with the Junior age groups. Midget Age Group: Male and Female Accommodation: St. Mary and St. George Anglican Church, Jasper Location: Geikie St & Miette Ave, Jasper, AB T0E 1E0 Sleeping: Please bring: Athletes and chaperones will be sleeping on the Community room floor. Coaches Accommodation: Whistlers Group Campground Location: on the Icefields Parkway 4.5kms south of Jasper National Park What to Bring: The group site is for TENTS ONLY. No motorhomes, no trailers. Please contact Whistlers Campground to book your own site if you have a motorhome that you want to use. Tent Sleeping bag Sleeping mat Warm clothing Waterproof clothing 3

4 Please see the other attachment in the for all information on the Whistlers Group campsite. Food Provided: Dinner Friday, all three meals Saturday, Breakfast and Lunch Sunday. These meals will be eaten at athlete accommodation. Coaches are not required to eat with the athletes; however, CCA will only be covering the cost of the food at the athlete accommodations. If you prefer to eat your own meals please feel free to provide your own. Parents Any parents are welcome to camp at the Whistlers Group campsite. Please contact Laura at the CCA office by Wednesday, September 7 th to reserve a spot. The cost of camping for parents is $6 per person per night. 4

5 #2: Food Main meals will be provided for the athletes and coaches during the camp. All athletes will be responsible for providing their own snacks during and in-between workouts. The provided meals are: Friday, September 9 Dinner Saturday, September 10 Breakfast Lunch Dinner Sunday, September 11 Breakfast Lunch ***Note for Coaches: Coaches are not required to eat with the athletes; however, CCA will only be covering the cost of the food at the athlete accommodations. If you prefer to eat your own meals please feel free to provide your own. 5

6 #3: Schedule Schedule updated as of Friday, Sept 2 September 9, 2016: Friday All groups: 12:00 Noon: Arrive in Jasper at your accommodation. Drop off your gear, change to get ready for hike up Whistlers Mountain. 1:30pm: Meet at Sky Tram parking lot. Be ready to go for the hike 1:30pm: Camp orientation at Sky Tram parking lot 2:00pm: Begin hike up Whistler's mountain. Midget Group: o 2:00 4:30pm: Hike/ski stride up Whistler Mtn. Take SkyTram down Juvenile, Junior and above Groups: o 2:00 4:30pm: Ski stride up Whistler Mtn, continue towards summit. Take Sky Tram down 6:00pm-7:00pm All athletes eat dinner together at the HI Jasper Hostel 7:30-8:30pm: Free time at Jasper Rec Center pool Depart to separate accommodation (see accommodation section of the document to see where you will be sleeping.) September 10, 2016: Saturday Midget and Juvenile groups: 9:00 11:00am: Depart for run and strength session at Pyramid Lake area 11:30-12:00pm: Lunch at Accommodation 1:30 3:00pm: Hike at Maligne Lake. 6:00pm: Dinner at Churches 7:30-8:30pm: Free time at Jasper Rec Center pool Junior and above Group: 9:30 12:00pm: Classic Rollerski Maligne Lake Road (Medicine Maligne Lake, 20km~) 6

7 12:00 1:30pm: Lunch at Maligne Lake 1:30 3:00pm: Run/Hike at Maligne Lake 6:00pm Dinner at hostel September 11, 2016: Sunday All groups: 7:00am Breakfast 7:45am: Pack up! 8:30am: All groups depart for Edith Cavell Trailhead Midget Group: o 9:30 12:00PM: Hike Cavell Meadows Juvenile, Junior and above Groups: o 9:30 12:30: Run/Hike Verdant Pass 1:00pm: Camp ends. All athletes to be picked up at Edith Cavell Trail. High-viz vest + clothing Rollerski gloves (ie Cycling gloves) 8

9 #5: All additional Information Transportation to and during camp: Parents/guardians are responsible for arranging or providing transportation of their children to the Jasper camp and during the Jasper camp Reminder: Parks passes are needed in Jasper.
