11 Activities A wide range of activities are on offer Children will be active outside all day They are unlikely to return to their tent during the day There will be little downtime

13 Food Lunch is provided for Wednesday All food allergies/dietary requirements can be catered for in advance if we know about them Well balanced, variety of food Much will be cooked by the children on open fires No additional food will be available to buy No food can be packed

15 Groups and Tents Yr4 staff are grouping the children to guarantee they are with people they get on with The children are split into Tribes All children have been asked to choose three people they would either like to room with or be in a group with We can guarantee they will be with at least one of these They sleep in big Bell Tents Boys and girls in separate tents Up to 12 in a tent

17 Weather Please monitor the weather before the trip If it has rained a lot in the days leading up to the trip, the woods are likely to be very muddy If the forecast is for warm weather, pack less jumpers/hats/gloves and ensure you have packed suncream and a sun hat.

18 What to do in advance Medical forms the deadline was last week... Inform us of food issues Source the right clothing old clothing and lots of layers are best Get a SLEEPING BAG and ROLL MAT NAME everything! Especially coats, shoes, roll mats and sleeping bags Insurance it is included in the price If your child is unwell, and can t attend you will need to obtain a Doctor s letter and pursue an insurance claim yourself.

19 What to Pack PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT CLOTHES ARE NAMED It could well be cold so we recommend more thin layers of clothing rather than one thick jumper for warmth. Children are required to have long sleeves for all activities They need a small rucksack for the daytime to carry their water bottle around with them

20 What to Bring - Essentials The following is a list of ESSENTIAL items (these are checked before departure): SLEEPING BAG and ROLL MAT Strong waterproof coat (at least one) e.g. anorak (must be waterproof) 1 bath towel Small rucksack Water bottle Gloves/warm hat or sunhat and suncream 2 pairs of old trainers; one pair which are suitable to get extremely wet/dirty (not canvas or plimsolls)

22 What to Bring Part 2 Required: Waterproof trousers (if you can get them) 3 long sleeve tops 3 sweatshirts/warm jumpers/fleece 4 pairs of jogging bottoms or trousers (NO jeans) 4 T-shirts Many changes of socks and underwear Nightclothes (warm) TOILETRIES: Toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, brush/comb, Vaseline/Lypsyl, deodorant (if required) Other: Soft toy (Mr Warwick will be taking his!) Bin bag (for dirty clothing) Book (if you wish)

24 What not to pack Medicine must be given to the adult at check-in NO NO money is needed NO electronic equipment including: phones, cameras, ipods, games etc NO valuables the tents are not locked/secured! NO additional food

25 Morning of Departure Bring your child to the KS2 door between 8.40am and 8.50am Say goodbye outside Give all medicine to the group leader Show they have a waterproof coat Show they have at least two appropriate pairs of shoes Leave children in the hall with staff Coaches to depart approximately 10.00am Children must be able to carry their own bags!

26 Morning of Departure cont. Leave children at the KS2 door (parents may wait outside by the coaches) Children to wear clothes for the whole day Small rucksacks and coats must not be packed in main bag (they may not have the opportunity to get anything from their main bag until the evening) Coaches to depart at 10.00am Children must be able to carry their own bags to the coach!

27 Communication During the Trip Website will be updated Staff will take photos Please don t ring the school office they will have no information on individual children. We will ring you if there is important information to share. We will arrive back at approximately 3pm. Children should be collected from the KS2 playground as usual.
