Lo - cal auc tion eers Rob Morlan and Larry Lesher auc tioned off all 35 Eads FFA mem bers to the com - mu nity in ex change for 8 hours of the mem bers la - bor. This year the chap ter raised $11,025 in profit af - ter pay ing for the food and other nec es sary costs. The chap ter would like to thank the com mu nity for their con tin ued sup port of the chap ter. We use this money to help pay the way of stu dents in trav el - ing trips, pro gram ma te - ri als, school farm ex - penses, and schol ar ships for the se niors plan ning to go off to college. On Wednes day, March 9, 2016 at ap prox i mately 12:51 PM, Dep u ties re - sponded to a two ve hi cle accident at the intersection of 15 th Street and Rittgers Street in the Town of Eads, County Of Ki owa and State of Col o rado. A 1998 Ford F-150 was fac - ing south bound on Rittgers Street stopped at the intersection of 15 th Street. The 1998 Ford pro ceeded from the Stop sign cross ing 15 th Street and struck the trailer of a 2006 Kenworth Trac tor Truck. The 1998 Ford came to rest in the cen ter turn lane of 15 th Street fac - ing south-south east. The 1998 Ford re ceived sub - stan tial dam age to the passenger front quarter of the ve hi cle. The driver of the 1998 Ford was trans - ported to the Weisbard Memorial Hospital for in - ju ries. The trailer of the Kenworth, loaded with grain, was punc tured al - low ing grain to spill on the road way. The driver of the Kenworth was un harmed. Al co hol or drug use are not be lieved to be fac tors in the crash. How ever Care less Driv ing was the likely cause of this ac ci - dent.
