REMEMBERING ROD! This past week, June 15th would have been Rod John son s 69th birth day. There aren t many days, since his pass ing, that Rod does n t cross my mind. I find it ironic Rod s birth day and Fa ther s Day are in the same week. I lost my fa ther not long af ter com ing to work for Rod at FSA. I was young and he gave me some great fa therly ad vice now and then. He had an open door pol icy and was a great lis tener. It s been 5 years since Rod re tired from FSA and there are days I still ask my - self What would Rod do? I am quite sure some times I fail; but I try to re mem ber he would tell me dur ing my CED train ing that, you will have to make hard de ci - sions at times, just be cer - tain it is one you can stand be hind and live with. Great advice! It s been 2 ½ years since he passed away so sud - denly leav ing many of us in shock and won der ing where do we go from here. I be - lieve Rod would be proud of how far we have come and would re mind us - still more to be done. I have viewed pic tures on social media of families en - joy ing the fruits of his la bor at Jack son s pond; that was his goal, along with the an - nual Fish ing for Fun event. Rod s heart be longed to na - ture and he wanted to share it with oth ers, a self less man in deed. A kid with a fish ing pole, I am pretty sure noth ing made him happier.
