3 Minutes from the Last Club Meeting November 2, 2018 President Matt Hansen called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Minutes: There was a motion to accept the minutes as presented in the newsletter. It was seconded and passed. VP: The Vice President had no report. Treasurer's Report: Betty P. presented the treasurer s report. The club made $230 on the speedster run, before trouble truck reimbursement. The trouble truck drivers were at the meeting and decided to donate the funds back to the club. We discussed and decided to keep the funds in the general fund, not move these funds to the tour fund. Sunshine Report: Susie reported that she sent four cards Norma Skidmore, Al Whiteside, Mike Robison, and Diane Swanson. Charity Committee: Reported that $ was the balance available for charitable donations. The committee recommended we give $200 to the Model T Museum and $ to the little boy in Hayden Lake that has cancer. There was a motion to do what the committee recommends. It was seconded and passed. We also won money from Meet on Monroe Car Show. We aren t sure of the amount. There was a motion to send whatever this money is to the little boy in Hayden as well. That was seconded and passed. New Business: Jeff passed along the info that we only have four buttons left. Ideas were bounced around at the meeting. Bill B. will look into it further. There is a breakfast for the Hayden Lake Boy with cancer on December 9th at the Hauser Lake Fire Department. There will be breakfast and Santa will be there. Ray Beale, a long time speedster guy passed away. Banquet: The banquet was discussed. It will be at the Ruby River Hotel in January 5th for $35 each. We will be have Model T bank/car races on the track. Speedster Run Recap: Tom C. gave a quick summary of the Speedster Run and Mike R. reported on the run from a driver s perspective. There was 12 or 13 cars that ran. People came from as far Mt. Vernon and Portland. Tom made some unique maps and required that you hit certain checkpoints or you would not have a map for the next part of the run. Library: There were no library or photo reports. Calendars: We were told that Hutch will have the calendars at the next meeting to pick up. Web: Janice was absent, so there was no website report. Membership dues are due. They are $20 per year. The Model T Soup Party will be on December 16th at Mark & Janice s house. Details will be in the newsletter, Club Facebook, and Club website. Progress is being made on the Model T Ice Cream Maker. The annual rotational tour is scheduled for July 2019, to be hosted by the Spokane Model T Club. The list of nominations for officers for next year was presented. Matt Hansen for President, Ralph Brevik for Vice President, Janice Hutchinson for Secretary, and Betty Patterson for Treasurer. There was a motion to cast a unanimous ballot for all nominees presented. It was seconded and passed. Rich won the raffle and donated it back to the club. Four books and four Model T toys were given away. Meeting was adjourned at 8:15. Submitted by Jillian Robison in Janice's absence. Monthly Meetings The monthly meeting begins at 7:30 PM on the 1st Friday of each month at the Opportunity Presbyterian Church, 202 North Pines, Spokane Valley, WA. 5 Seen, Heard and Shared MTFCA Insert: Mission Statement The MTFCA Model T Museum is committed to collecting, preserving, and exhibiting artifacts from the Model T Ford era for future generations through displays and events that educate people of all ages on the history, lore, and skills needed to maintain the car that put the world on wheels. Page 2 of 2 Year in Review Contributions are made to the Model T Museum throughout the year, in many ways. Sharing time and talents Donating treasured vehicles, tools, books, art, and memorabilia Giving of financial resources It is only because of the commitment of our members, chapters, volunteers, vendors, sponsors, advertisers, and supporters throughout the community and the Model T family that we continue to grow and improve. Purchase of Annex Building to secure our investment of time and resources for the future. Completion of Agriculture Exhibit Hall Improvements to Annex include: remove damaged garage doors, build new wall and panel, repair ceiling and upgrade electric, widen brick entry and install new overhead door. Hosting MTFCA National Tour and Homecoming made a positive economic impact on the local community and brought recognition to the Model T hobby Once again the number of visitors to the Museum increased 50% over the previous year and we continue to be rated #1 Things to Do in Richmond on TripAdvisor. The Museum is a favorite stop for bus tours, auto clubs, schools, senior centers, and service groups such as Rotary, Kiwanis, and Lions Clubs. Donated and loaned Model Ts received include: 1924 C-Cab TT Fuel Truck, 1925 TT Grocery Truck, 1922 Fire Chief Coupe, 1923 School Hack, 1912 Town Car, and 1922 Wikner Ford Special Speedster Just a few of many other types of donations and loans include: Rare Carburetor Collection, Vintage Clothing, Cobb Shinn Postcards, Weidenhoff Test Bench, plus rare books and memorabilia for Bruce McCalley Memorial Library - 5 -
