1 Jayco Club of New South Wales P.O. Box 4503, Lake Haven 2263 August 2014 Newsletter MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS: MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS ARE NOW OVERDUE. Memberships for 2014/2015 are now overdue. Thank you to all the members who have already paid their membership. It is very convenient for the club to accept membership paid directly into The Jayco Club of NSW bank account. If you have not renewed your membership as yet, we value your membership and remind you that as per Club s constitution you cease to be a member at the end of August. However if you wish to remain a member and own a Jayco recreational vehicle then your membership may be renewed without the use of a new application fee. Liz Beesley Treasurer NOTE: Members who joined after the start of this calendar year are financial until began, lots of laughs and many games won with small chocolate bars and drink holders being the prizes (donated by WHERE WE VE BEEN Halliday Park). Anyone would have Rally report for Halliday s Point thought we were playing for sheep stations as the competition was vast with everyone willing their numbers to be called out. A big thank to Gea for her fashion parade showing the ladies her latest purchases, (a quilted black coat) which started a buying frenzy with some of the ladies heading to the store to purchase the same jacket, one person who will remain nameless even drove to Port Macquarie to buy one. Wendy s Wanderings Once again Happy Halliday s Holiday Park did not disappoint our members for this rally; van started arriving Wednesday with most of us on site by Thursday with one late arrival Friday evening. The usual morning teas/afternoon teas rolling into happy hour took place daily. We choose to have dinner in our vans Wednesday and Thursday evening. Friday after our committee meeting, Ron hosted our usual information session during afternoon tea; Bridie again served us one of her delicious creations this time a black forest cake. At 4.30 Friday afternoon we all took our seats and enjoyed a few hours of fun playing Bingo, after about 20 minutes explaining to our novice players how to play the fun Saturday night we all ventured out to the local Bowling Club where we enjoyed a delicious meal of roast pork and veg with sticky date pudding, of course all enjoyed with a few glasses of ale and a few wines. The rest of the time members visited the local sites, some tried their hand at fishing (but I think they had steak for dinner) most
2 of us just took advantage of the sun and enjoyed each other s company. A SAD STORY!! During our last trip we "lost" one of the arms of our Winegard TV Aerial somewhere between Coober Pedy and Yulara. I have noticed that a couple of the members have updated their aerial to the newer horizontal and vertical polarity model. They may be willing to sell me their old aerial head if it is now not wanted. The add to read "Wanted - Winegard TV Aerial Head to draw parts to repair my aerial. Contact Mike Stevenson on or " If you can help it would be appreciated. An Engineer Dies The engineer found himself at the pearly gates. St. Peter looked him up in the book, and found that he was destined for the other place. The engineer protested that this must be a mistake, and that he had lived a righteous life, going to church every week, being faithful to his wife etc. to no avail. About 6 weeks later God reviews the lists and realizes that the engineer has been sent to the wrong place. So he rings up Lucifer and demands that the engineer be sent up. Lucifer says "NO WAY. This guy was the best thing to ever happen here. He's got the AC working, we have running water and cable now too, and next week he thinks we will get internet access and an ice cream machine." God is pissed and yelling says "I'll sue". Lucifer says "ya okay, but where are you going to get a lawyer?" A young couple moved into a new neighbourhood. The next morning while they were eating breakfast, the young woman saw her neighbour hanging the wash outside. "That laundry is not very clean; she doesn't know how to wash correctly. Perhaps she needs better laundry soap." Her husband looked on, remaining silent. Every time her neighbour hung her wash to dry, the young woman made the same comments. A month later, the woman was surprised to see a nice clean wash on the line, and said to her husband: "Look, she's finally learned how to wash correctly. I wonder who taught her this? " The husband replied, "I got up early this morning and cleaned our windows." And so it is with life. What we see when watching others depends on the clarity of the window through which we look.

Maria Information Session Minutes held at Happy Halidays on 1 st August, 2014 The purpose of the information session: These were introduced for the sole purpose of passing information to the members by the committee. The committee meets prior to the information session, relevant and pertinent information is then passed on to the members. It is also an opportunity for members to voice their concerns. The aim is always to keep the transparencies between Committee and Members. Ron welcomed everyone to the information session and asked his committee to report on what was discussed at the earlier meeting: Secretary s Report (Maria): All the club s insurances have been paid and have received the Certificate Of Insurance for Public Liability and Certificate of Insurance for the Directors. A copy of both will be placed in the Attendance Sheet clip board. We have 42 financial members and a reminder has been sent to those who have forgotten to renew. Treasurer s report (Liz): Given Web report (Lorraine): Lorraine is asking for photos to be sent to be included on the web. Rally co-ordinator s report (Wendy): One Mile Beach Regular June Rally. Wendy asked if members were happy to rebook for next year. Members will be reminded as to when you need to book. Happy Hallidays will also be rebooked for next year for July. New Year s Eve nothing has been planned for this year. The consensus is that Cessnock has been done. This rally can be slotted in at any time. If anyone has suggestions, please let Wendy know. Stone the Crows festival in Wagga Wagga runs over the Easter Weekend for 3 nights. Will look into this. Tag-a-long: Terry advised that the caravan parks have now been told to cancel any sites that have

Caring Officer (Bridie): Cards have been sent to Tony & Lyn McFadden, John Lak, Sue Bradshaw (for her shoulder operation) and Laurie is also doing well. Cards will be sent to Tricia and Anita. Neville moved the following motion which was seconded by Tony Battaglia. No pets be allowed in areas where food or drink was either being prepared, cooked or consumed. After much discussion the following motion was moved by Neville Henderson and seconded by Tony Battaglia In the interest of health and hygiene, no animals will be permitted to be present at morning tea, afternoon tea, happy hour or any other club communal gathering where food or drink is being consumed or prepared. The meeting was then opened to the membership: Gea Waalkens reported on a Loyalty Card that is being promoted by the Holiday Parks along the North Coast of NSW. There are 25 parks in the programme and a couple on the south coast. The idea is that the more you stay the more free nights you receive.
