The issue is multi-faceted and includes elements of education, advice, investigation and enforcement. Due to the complex nature of this subject matter UBC, the inistry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development, and the Local overnment anagement ssociation of BC, have formed a working group to examine responsible conduct of local government elected officials. The working group will conduct an analysis and undertake policy work on this issue, and that work will inform UBC Executive's policy paper for consideration of members at the 2017 UBC Convention. Tribal Journeys brings together Nations from all over; participants travel by canoe some for more than five weeks. It is expected that between 75 and 100 canoes will participate with thousands more lining the shores to witness their arrival. The session will consist of one hour of presentations by panel members followed by a breakout into round table discussions with recommendations and Q&. articipants will leave the session better educated on forest legislation, regulations and complexities, and with knowledge on how communities can engage with the rovince, first nations and industry to gain an understanding of other viewpoints and values.
