2 Overview Founded in Bendigo, Victoria, on 20 September 1918, the Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce (VACC) has grown to become one of Australia s largest and most influential employer associations. In 2018, VACC has several centennial themed events to celebrate the past 100 years of the automotive industry, our origins and our members. VACC s 2018 centennial celebrations will include the VACC Centennial Cavalcade for historic vehicles which will converge on Bendigo town centre. This will be a fabulous opportunity for motor vehicle enthusiasts of all kinds to showcase their historical cars, commercial vehicles, trucks, motorcycles, and any other vehicle of any make, model or vintage between 1918 and The aim is to have each of the past 100 years represented by a specially curated vehicle. When this cavalcade arrives in Bendigo it will parade down the main street and converge on a local park to be part of a Centennial Show n Shine community event with family-orientated activities and entertainment. That night, the VACC will host a Centennial Gala Dinner in the magnificent Bendigo Town Hall to celebrate its 100th anniversary. Event # 1 VACC Centennial Cavalcade 2018 If your vehicle is selected for the cavalcade, you will automatically participate in the Show n Shine event at Bendigo Cavalcade Route Calder Freeway from Melbourne area to Bendigo, Victoria (TBC exact route) Starting point 7am Calder Park Raceway, Calder Freeway, Calder Park Vic 3037 Tea, coffee, refreshments and a light breakfast will be provided complimentary to all participants Departing Calder Park Raceway at 8am Muster point Location to be confirmed it will be within a 10km radius of Bendigo, Victoria All participants and their vehicles will need to be officially checked-off the registered list All participants and their vehicles will then be marshalled into year formation starting from year 1918 to year 2018 All vehicles will then proceed into Bendigo and led by an emergency services escort along with the Mayor of Bendigo and the President of the VACC and/or other participating dignitaries. 3 Schedule for Show n Shine participants only TIMING 8am 10:30am 12pm 4pm 4:30pm ACTIVITY Participant and vehicle registration at designated registration area at event location/venue Set-up of all vehicles across the event location/venue All vehicles to be in place by 10:30am VACC Centennial Show n Shine, featuring: Family-orientated/children s activities Entertainment A selection of food and beverage vendors Event concludes All vehicles pack-down and depart event location/venue The application process The framework of these events will be to have a specially curated field of vehicles showcasing the last 100 years of automotive, therefore an official process of applications from interested motoring enthusiasts will be implemented. VACC members, Victorian car club members and members of the public are able to express interest to participate in these exciting celebratory events. An official selection process of the expression of interest applications will be performed by Mr Iain Ross and the VACC. Successful applicants will be notified in due course and provided with full and up to date details of these events, which are subject to change to the information provided in this document. Limited edition VACC Centennial grille badges All successful applicants of the VACC Centennial Cavalcade and Show n Shine events will receive a limited edition metal cast VACC centennial grille badge.
