1 The Interreg IV A France (Channel) - England programme is happy to invite you to its roadshow on 12th October 2011 in (Hampshire) Roadshow calling all those working with maritime stakeholders!

2 THE INTERREG IVA FRANCE (CHANNEL) ENGLAND PROGRAMME IN BRIEF From Cornwall to Norfolk on the English side, and from Finistère to Pas-de-Calais on the French side, we share a joint maritime border. The European Interreg IVA France (Channel) England programme seeks to encourage the emergence of a joint citizenship area and of a sense of belonging to a cross-border area with its own specific identity. In order to do so, the programme provides support to concrete, sustainable cooperation projects, bringing together project partners from both sides of the Channel and allocating them European Union grants. Projects must bring together at least one partner from each side of the Channel, in the area indicated below, and high levels of cooperation between partners must be demonstrated, with common development, implementation, personnel and financing. The overall budget planned to this effect stands at million euros ERDF (European Regional Development Fund). Projects for possible financing centre around 4 priorities: Reinforce the sense of belonging to a common space and the awareness of shared interests (e.g. projects promoting mutual learning of language and culture). Build partnerships between players involved in cross-border economic development, and between centres of excellence (e.g. projects supporting the launching of new enterprises). Build an attractive common space to live in and visit (e.g. projects sharing in cultural activities). Ensure sustainable environmental development of the common space (e.g. projects promoting renewable energies). Projects may be financed up to a maximum of 50% of eligible expenditure. For microprojects, the intervention rate is as high as 75%: this relates to projects involving associations or SMEs, with total eligible expenditure not exceeding 60,000. Repayment of European grants operates on the rendered service principle: payments are made on the basis of presentation of invoices settled by the project partners. The euro is the programme s only currency.
