11 To build tourism cooperation is an iterative process Basis: National and regional tourism policies strategy, creation of tourism infrastructure and offer Multilevel and cross sectoral cooperation has to be strengthened Potential for a joint marketing approach Perspective to become the leading region in sustainable tourism Clustering of projects and an early link with market players is needed Transnational funding for tourism cooperation will be vital Positive: Baltic Sea Tourism Forum is gaining acceptance 11

15 Flagship Project Approval of a new project A flagship project by structure is either a single project or a set of projects (a group) operating in the same field A flagship project must fulfill the following key criteria: high macro-regional impact fulfilling the objectives of the EUSBSR related to the implementation of one or more actions of the Priority Area Additional criteria: have a clear transnational dimension be mature for implementation (realistic timeframe; clear financial and activity plan; established partnership) 15

17 Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (EIP) Open call for proposals Supporting the enhancement and promotion of sustainable transnational thematic tourism products The tourism product product, e.g. a route/itinerary/trail/tourism offer must be: transnational cover / be developed in at least 4 countries; thematic have a common theme; based on a type of tourism already developed have a high potential for the development of sustainable tourism Deadline: 3 July
