Fast forward to today and approximately 1,000 people gather yearly for the smudge. Celebrating Aboriginal Culture Casinos Regina and Moose Jaw continually celebrate aboriginal traditions and culture. On National Aboriginal Day, SaskGaming saw a performance by the Charging Bear dance group on the Casino Regina gaming floor. Throughout the rest of the year, SaskGaming supported other events such as the Wakamow Pow Wow, the First Nations University of Canada Pow Wow, and the First Nations Rodeo Night at the Agribition. 9 SHOW LOUNGE IN-KIND DONATIONS SaskGaming believes that providing the Show Lounge in-kind to charity and non-profit organized fundraising events is a win-win. By providing the Show Lounge in-kind, Casino Regina agrees to donate the event space at no charge, plus cover additional costs if agreed upon. The following events filled the Show Lounge and raised funds for many great causes: The North Central Family Centre Community Kitchen Fundraiser Casinos Regina hosted a wildly successful fundraiser in the Casino Regina Show Lounge for the North Central Family Centre (NCFC). 11 EMPLOYEES GIVE BACK SaskGaming employees are active in our communities donating their time and/or raising funds for the charities and non-profits they care about. SaskGaming encourages and celebrates these employees and their good deeds not only to support our community, but to also support comradery, morale and team spirit. Below are just a few of the ways our employees gave back: Changing the Odds Food Drive SaskGaming s third annual employee food drive blew last year s totals out of the water as the interdepartmental competition brought on a great deal of friendly competition. Kitchener Holiday Dinner The SaskGaming staff shared their holiday spirit by helping prepare, transport and serve food at Kitchener Community School s annual holiday dinner. The dinner was a great success with around 400 children and their families in attendance. Saskatchewan Credit Unions Queen City Marathon Refreshment Station Showgirls and our smiling staff were on site distributing water to the thirsty Queen City Marathon runners. Although the day was cold and rainy, our staff had a blast and stayed warm cheering on the ambitious athletes. Queen City Marathon Refreshment Station SaskGaming 9

On Dec. 2, 2016, purple shirts were worn on Purple Shirt Day in support of The Neil Squire Society s employment programing for persons with disabilities. Dollars for Do-Gooders and Employee Match Programs Throughout the year, staff leveraged their good deeds by utilizing the Dollars for Do-Gooders and the Employee Match Programs. The Dollars for Do-Gooders program donates $250 to a charity or nonprofit where an employee has volunteered at least eight hours of their time. The Employee Match program allows SaskGaming to match funds raised by an employee or group of employees up to $1,000. Teams and individuals creatively raised funds and volunteered for many organizations including the Salvation Army s Adopt-A-Family, The Cancer Society, Regina Cat Rescue, JDRF, Carmichael Outreach, Spinal Cord Injury Saskatchewan, and many more. 10 A Year in Review Community Relations Sticks on Rose
