2 Great Barrier Reef The Great Barrier Reef, off the coast of Queensland in northeastern Australia, is the largest living thing on Earth, and even visible from outer space. With loads of sunshine, warm seas, refreshing sea breezes and a warm climate all year round, Tropical North Queensland weather is hard to beat.... You can swim in Tropical North Queensland all year round Fun Facts: The Great Barrier Reef is the largest coral reef system in the world. Astronauts can see the Great Barrier Reef from space. Whales, dolphins and dugong can also be seen in the Great Barrier Reef.

4 Coral Sea The Coral Sea is a marginal sea of the South Pacific off the northeast coast of Australia, and classified as an interim Australian bioregion. The sea has a subtropical climate and is frequently hit by tropical cyclones, especially between January and April.... Fun Facts: A coral reef isn t a thing, it s actually a community of life that lives and thrives in one location. Reefs are very important to the fishing industry because they are the natural habitat of the bait fish which is used to fish for tuna and other large species.

6 Ayers (Uluru) Rock Uluru, or Ayers Rock, is a massive sandstone monolith in the heart of the Northern Territory s arid "Red Center". The nearest large town is Alice Springs Uluru is situated near the center of a semi-arid desert; it receives about10-12 inches of rain per year. Fun Facts: Uluru is better known as Ayers Rock; it named by William Gosse in 1873 after Sir Henry Ayers. Uluru is the Aboriginal and official name Uluru Base Walk is a 10km walk on a flat marked dirt path, and can be completed in around 3.5 hours

8 Great Victoria Desert A sparsley populated desert area in Western Australia and South Australia. The Great Victoria is the largest Australian desert The Great Victoria Desert receives only little rain, though not as little as one might suspect for a desert. The Great Victoria Desert in Australia is the third largest desert in the world, after the Sahara and the Arabian Desert. Fun Facts: The following list of animals can be sighted in the Great Victoria Desert: Great Desert Skink, Sandhill Dunnart,Water-holding Frog, Southern Marsupial Mole, Chestnut-Breasted Whiteface, Mallee Fowl, Dingo, Perentie and Sand Goanna.

10 Outback The Australian Outback refers to the arid, vast areas of Australia's interior, and defines regions located far away from urban areas. The Outback is a term used by people to describe the remote territories outside urban areas that are wilder than the bush. The bush can be described as wild or uncultivated areas of Australia. About 70 percent of the Outback is dry and composed of two arid zones, one with cold winters in the center and one with mild winter near the north.fun Facts: The Outback covers most of Australia The Australian Outback Population is made up of approximately 1300 small Aboriginal communities Although most of the time, people visiting the Australian Outback fear the animals, the real enemies are in fact the sun and the heat. Tourists who do not take advice from the rangers or tours organizers seriously, may get hurt. The heat can be immense and the risk of dehydration is high

14 Sydney The state capital of New South Wales and the most populous city in Australia. Located on Australia's east coast, the metropolis surrounds the world s largest natural harbor, and sprawls towards the Blue Mountains to the west. [8] Residents of Sydney are known as "Sydneysiders Sunshine & Rainfall. Sydney enjoys a temperate climate with a mild winter, and has about 104 sunny, cloud-free days a year. It s hard to imagine now, but the city was originally going to be called Albion until it was decided that Sydney, after British Lord Sydney, was more appropriate.

It is the fourth-most populous city in Australia, Perth, capital of Western Australia, sits where the Swan River meets the southwest coast. Sandy beaches line its suburbs, and the huge, riverside Kings Park and Botanic Garden on Mt. Eliza offer sweeping views of the city.
