Tonight both harken back to some of Robert s earlier solo work-each is evocative of the years Robert wailed so mightily for the legend that was Led Zeppelin, yet they both still have a uniqueness that lets them stand on their own merits. The most kicking song on the album is Bones Of Saints which admittedly does shadow Robert s early days in Zeppelin. That Doors sound really pops up again on the song Keep It Hid as Robert and his band The Sensational Space Shifters groove through a number that could definitely have been recorded in a paisley-covered studio in This is a great song too. Another great song is the politically charged and historical ode Carving Up The World Again A Wall And Not A Fence. This number is very much like the material Robert recorded for his 2007 album Fate of Nations. Robert Plant turned 69 in August of this year, and admittedly he can t howl and wail like he did on Immigrant Song, but his voice is still strong, and that roughness adds uniqueness to songs that still resonate with millions of fans. I love Led Zeppelin s music and I have never been disappointed by anything I ever heard from Robert Plant s solo career and side-projects (The Honeydrippers, Page/Plant).
