1 Strategic Development Committee Airline Business Development Information Report May 2018
2 Essential Air Service Dulles International January 9 Submitted an essential air service bid to provide twice daily service to Plattsburgh, NY from Dulles International, with 50-seat regional jets operating as United Express. March 18 Awarded SkyWest the authority to operate subsidized service twice daily between Plattsburgh, NY and Dulles International with 50- seat regional jets operating as United Express. Service starts August 29, 2018 and flights are currently available for sale to the public.
3 Russian Overflight Rights and Visa Issues April 17 Agreed on an extension to overflight rights for US carriers. Overflight rights (the ability of US airlines to overfly Russian airspace to serve points in Asia) were set to expire in April, but were extended until October 28. This has potential to impact Aeroflot s Dulles International flights in the future.

Airports Authority staff met with 21 airlines to discuss route opportunities at Dulles International.
9 March 7-11 ITB Berlin, Germany World s largest travel trade show. Airports Authority staff promoted Dulles International to travel agencies, travel managers, and tour operators. March Volaire Air Service Forum Myrtle Beach, SC Airport industry conference focusing on smaller airports. Airports Authority staff discussed joint opportunities for new domestic service to Dulles International. April Airline 2018 London, United Kingdom Airline-airport conference. Airports Authority staff met with 12 airlines to discuss route opportunities at Dulles International.
10 April Routes Europe Bilbao, Spain Largest airline-airport industry conference in Europe. Airports Authority staff met with 6 airlines to discuss route opportunities at Dulles International.
11 Sales Missions March 6-16 Sales Mission Europe, United Kingdom, Scotland, and Ireland April Sales Mission Italy and Belgium
12 Cargo February Air Cargo Conference Mumbai, India Largest air cargo industry conference in India. Airports Authority staff met with 14 cargo airlines and logistics companies to promote Dulles International and discuss new opportunities.
