All witnessed many civilizations through history: the Romans in 64 BC, the Crusaders in early 12th c., the Shehab Emirs between 1172 and 1860, and the Ottomans in the 17th c. Ain Harcha Temple (113 or 114 B.C.) One of the best preserved temples of Mt Hermon. Its walls are decorated with reliefs representing the Gods of the Sun and the Moon. معبد عني حرشا - ١١٣ أو ١١٤ ق.م. وهو أحد أفضل المعابد المتبقية في جبل حرمون. وجدرانه مزخرفة بنقوش متثل آلهة الشمس والقمر. Mount Hermon (known as Jabal El Sheikh) It is the Sacred Mountain for many civilizations in the region. Jabal el Sheikh was mentioned in the Gospels, Mark 8:1, and elsewhere, when describing the scene of the Transfiguration of the Christ. Climbing the mountain from Rashaya side is a wonderful journey through scenic groves, vineyards and wild slopes. Each year on Aug.6, visitors can join the local community to commemorate the Transfiguration. جبل حرمون يس مى أيضا جبل الشيخ وهو ثاين أعلى قمة في لبنان يبلغ ارتفاعه ٢٨١٤ مترا أي ٩٢٣٢ قدما. إنه "الجبل المقدس" لحضارات عديدة في المنطقة. فقد ذ ك ر جبل الشيخ في الا ناجيل الا ية ١:٨ وفي أماكن أخرى- لدى وصف مشهد تج لي السيد المسيح. وتسل ق الجبل من ناحية راشيا رحلة راي عة عبر البساتني الخلا بة كروم العنب والمنحدرات ال برية. وميكن للزاي ر الانضامم إلى أهالي المنطقة للاحتفال بالتجلي في ٦ آب/أغسطس من كل سنة. Silver Making, Needlework & Sculpture Rashaya s known for its crafts since ancient times: needlework, glass painting (in Hilweh), sculpture, gold and silver jewelry making. The very few silver artists have kept designs from the Byzantine styles. Visitors can watch them at work, in the old souk of Rashaya el Wadi. The Artisan Cooperative Association in el Aaqabeh is also a good address to discover needlework, painting and sewing, meticulously worked by local women. راشيا مشهورة با شغالها اليدوية منذ أزمنة قدمية: أشغال الا برة الرسم على الزجاج (في الحلوة) النحت وصناعة المجوهرات كالذهب والفضة. وقد حفظ الحرفيون القليلون تصاميم من الطراز البيزنطي. وميكن للزاي رين أن يستكشفوا الحرفييني يعملون على تصاميمهم في سوق راشيا الا ثري. أيضا ميكن للسياح أن يزوروا الجمعية التعاونية للحرفيني في بلدة العقبة للتعرف على اشغال الا برة والرسم والخياطة. Goat Milk Derivative Products. Rashaya s famous for its agriculture and food products especially the goat milk derivative products:cheese, labneh, & keshek. Panoply of other agri-food fresh products are also available at special food stores and cooperatives all year round. تشتهر راشيا بزراعتها ومنتجاتها الغذاي ية ولا سيام مشتقات حليب الماعز ومنتجاته مثل الجبنة اللبنة والك شك. وتوجد تشكيلة واسعة من المنتجات الطازجة في متاجر الا غذية وتعاونياتها على مدار السنة. Honey French colonists described Mt Hermon as the Mountain of a thousand flowers because of the diversity of its wild plants and flowers, many of which are known for their medicinal properties. The great bee breeding and the knowhow of local beekeepers have contributed to producing one of the best honey in Lebanon. Starting mid-sep of every year grapes are harvested, and for two months, grape presses (only 3 left!) are activated to process wine and debs. Deir el Aashayer Roman Citadel (Al Borj) & Ruins It is said that it was used by the disciples of St. Simon for preaching and was called Deir Mar Semaan (St. Simon s Monastery). آثار وقلعة دير العشاير الرومانية (البرج). يقال إنها كانت ت ستخد م للموعظة من ق ب ل تلامذة مار سمعان وكانت ت دعى دير مار سمعان. Aaiha Citadel. It includes statues & inscriptions carved in the rocks from a قلعة عيحا التي تضم متاثيل ونقوشا منحوتة منذ ما قبل المسيح Christ. period before Historic Churches Rashaya District has many historic churches; the oldest is the Syriac-Catholic Church of Mar Moussa el-habashi (17th c.) built at the times when the Syriacs came to Lebanon from Iraq, Syria, Anatolia, Urfa and Sicily. Each stove can take about four days to one month to finish. They were released on Nov 22. The date became Lebanon s Independence Day. The fortress was built during the 11th c. by the Crusaders on remains of ancient Roman fortifications. From the Roman times until 1948, Rashaya was a crossroad for trade routes between Palestine, Syria and Lebanon. The old Souq built by the French is 250m long and is made of more than 40,000 stones.
