3 ITINERARY DAY 1: AMMAN - MA'IN On arrival in Amman transfer to the luxury Evason Ma'in Hot Springs and check into your room. DAY 2: MA'IN Today is at leisure to enjoy the pools and hot springs or, to take advantage of the nearby Wadi Mujib Nature Reserve, there are many hiking trails taking in varied landscapes and giving great views out over the reserve. (B) DAY 3: MA IN - PETRA This morning visit El Kerak Crusader Castle. Perched on top of a rocky pinnacle it commands spectacular views of the sweeping valleys. Next drive to the 'Rose Red' city of Petra which lies hidden, deep in Jordan's southern mountains and is quite simply stunning. Entry is through a narrow siq (gorge) and the first unforgettable sight on entering the city is the great columned Treasury. The buildings here were carved directly into the rock and the city is one of the great historical treasures of the Middle East. Explore on foot with your guide see some of the most well known sights such as the Treasury, Tombs, Theatre, Colour Caves and Monastery. (B) DAY 4: PETRA A second day in which to explore the ancient city of Petra. Try entering in the early morning and climb up to the High Place of Sacrifice before anyone else arrives. This afternoon there is the option of a tour out to Little Petra. (B) DAY 5: PETRA - WADI RUM Today drive out of Petra in a 4WD jeep into the desert of Wadi Rum. With sheer sandstone cliffs and multi-coloured shifting sands this beautiful area is steeped in history and along the way the 4WDs will stop so you can examine the remains of ancient settlements here. This dramatic landscape, long home to nomadic Bedouin, was the scene of 'Lawrence of Arabia's' adventures during the First World War. Spend tonight in a small camp in the desert, eat in a traditional Bedouin tent and sit around the fire watching the stars come out. (B,D)

4 DAY 6: WADI RUM - DEAD SEA Drive to the shores of the Dead Sea where you will check into the luxury Kempinski spa resort. Spend the rest of the day resting, relaxing and rejuvenating in the restorative waters of the Dead Sea. Your hotel here is a top class luxury spa resort with all the facilities to thoroughly pamper yourself. (B) DAY 7: DEAD SEA - JERASH - AMMAN - DEAD SEA Head north for the day with your driver to the Roman city of Jerash, explore the forums, theatres and colonnaded streets before driving to Amman where you will enjoy a tour of the city including the Citadel, Temple of Hercules, Ummayad Palace and Roman Theatre. Stroll around Amman's crowded streets, souks and markets and sample some of Jordan's best street food. (B) DAY 8: DEAD SEA - AMMAN Transfer to Amman Airport for your return flight. (B)
