This incredible family adventure takes you deep into the heart of the Hashemite Kingdom, following in the footsteps of the ancient Romans, the Bedouin and Lawrence of Arabia. Beginning in the Jordanian capital, you ll have a chance to explore historic Amman and sample some of the country s savoury street food, before heading off to take in the magnificent ruins of Jerash. Travelling along the famed King s Highway, you then visit the stunning mosaics of Madaba, before spending the night camped out amongst the serene beauty of the Dana Nature Reserve. The journey then takes in the imposing majesty of Petra and the haunting beauty of Wadi Rum, where you ll ride camels amongst desert landscapes steeped in the lore and legend of Lawrence of Arabia. 3 ITINERARY DAY 1: AMMAN On arrival at Amman airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel. DAY 2: AMMAN - JERASH - AJLOUN Heading into downtown Amman this morning you'll take in the city's famed Citadel and Roman Theatre, before enjoying some of the local delicacies on offer at the food stalls on Rainbow Street, visit the Royal Tank and Children Museum. This afternoon then sees you heading for the Roman city of Jerash, where a tour through its magnificent ruins, following colonnaded streets that still bear the marks of ancient chariot wheels, conjure up images of Jerash at the height of its power. Following the visit you then transfer to Ajloun, where you spend the evening. (B,L,D) DAY 3: AJLOUN - MADABA - DANA NATURE RESERVE This morning there will be time to explore the orchards of the Ajloun Nature Reserve, before heading south towards the mosaic town of Madaba, home to some of the best-preserved mosaics anywhere in the Middle East, including the famous 6th century map of the Holy Land. A walk through town provides a chance to stop at a local mosaic workshop, to try your hand at this ancient craft, before continuing on to your spacious tented camp in the heart of the Dana Nature Reserve. (B,D) DAY 4: DANA NATURE RESERVE - PETRA This morning your journey takes you on to one of the highlights of this unforgettable adventure. Entered by way of a fissure in the rock, the ancient rockcut city of Petra lay hidden for centuries. Filled with magnificent temples and tombs, the more adventurous amongst you might like to climb the steps to the Monastery, to enjoy the spectacular views, before perhaps heading back later to enjoy a candlelit journey through the Siq and an evening of traditional music at Petra's remarkable Treasury. (B) DAY 5: PETRA - WADI RUM There will be time this morning to pay a return visit to Petra, before heading into the famous deserts of Wadi Rum. Transferring to your 4WD, you'll then disappear off across landscapes that were made famous by Lawrence of Arabia. In the company of a Bedouin guide you'll scramble through canyons, ride on the back of camels and run up towering dunes, before eventually arriving at your desert camp, where dinner this evening will be served around the camp fire. 4 DAY 6: WADI RUM - AQABA Leaving the sands of the desert behind this morning you'll drive to the coast today, towards the historic old port of Aqaba, on the northern tip of the Gulf of Aqaba. Here, you can spend the rest of the day relaxing by the hotel pool or making the most of the resort's golden beaches. (B) DAY 7: AQABA A free day in Aqaba provides a chance to make more of this lively Red Sea resort. There are opportunities to take to the waters in a glass-bottomed boat, to enjoy something of the region's rich array of sea life, or perhaps spend some time exploring the colourful offshore reefs with mask and snorkel. (B) DAY 8: AQABA - THE DEAD SEA Your final day sees you enjoying the unique delights of the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth. Famed since biblical times, these mineral rich waters have a salt content of some 33%, making this one of the most remarkable bodies of water on the planet. Spend the afternoon floating in this saline sea, covering yourself therapeutic mud, or swimming in the hotel's pool. If time allows there may also be a chance for a relaxing spa treatment before dinner. (B) DAY 9: TOUR ENDS AMMAN Your driver will take you to the airport this morning for your return flight. (B)

5 ACCOMMODATION AJLOUN AJLOUN CABINS AND BUNGALOWS Located in a grassy clearing in the Ajloun Forest Reserve surrounded by oak, pistachio and strawberry trees, are 5 cabins and 10 tented bungalows. Part of the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature's WIld Jordan project, the cabins and bungalows provide a basic but comfortable stay in a remote area. The cabins have private facilities and small terraces whilst the bungalows have shared facilities. Views extend across the reserve and the area offers plenty of walking trails through the reserve and to nearby villages. Ajloun Forest Reserve has on-site restaurant that serves home-made traditional local meals which can be enjoyed al fresco. The accomodation also offers the opportunity to eat a home-cooked meal with a local resident in their home, who can also teach how to cook the meals. Enjoy a number of hikes from the lodge with an experienced guide. AMMAN HISHAM HOTEL Hisham is a four star boutique hotel, conveniently located in Amman s business and diplomatic district, within walking distance of the old city and its historic attractions, and 30 minutes from the international airport. The rooms are stylish and comfortable and include satellite flat screen TV, mini-bar, telephone and free internet access. The hotel offers a selection of dining options, including a popular garden pub and a rooftop restaurant/bar with views of the capital. AQABA MOVENPICK RESORT TALA BAY The Movenpick Resort & Spa in Tala Bay is a five star hotel on the southern shores of the Red Sea. With three restaurants including Italian and local cuisine, six bars and other facilities including many swimming pools, and a spa, the property is stylish, luxurious, and perfect for soaking up year-round sun. Just 15 minutes from Aquaba and 20 minutes from King Hussein Airport, it's easily accessible. The spacious rooms are well furnished, with wifi, air conditioning and a TV. DANA NATURE RESERVE RUMMANA CAMP Set in the Dana Nature Reserve on a small pleteau with views to an escarpment, the Rummana Camp consists of 20 family sized tents, each with their own bedding. Toilet and shower facilities are in a separate block and there is a kitchen furthur along with bedouin style dining tents. Originally, the location of the campsite was a favored Bedouin camping area, occupied every summer season for goat grazing. Rummana Campsite has a restaurant serving home-made traditional local meals. PETRA

6 PETRA GUESTHOUSE Located close to the entrance of Petra, this four star hotel is immersed within the ancient landscape of Petra.
