3 RIDGELINE/MEADOWS 5K Fitness Route CRgov.com/trails Fast Facts about Ridgeline/ Meadows 5k Trail Trail length: 3.1 miles Planned and mapped by James Kennedy, Troop 260 Eagle Scout Project 2014 Trail ra ng: moderate Trail surface: So surface single track trail and sidewalk. Wildlife highlights: Ra lesnakes, bluebirds, deer, and rabbits This trail has hills, varied terrain and spectacular vistas. Using the western por on of the much larger trail system at Ridgeline Open Space, look for both established markers and unmarked junctures to keep on the right track. Watch for snakes. Stewart Trail is popular with mountain bikers. Adopted by The Ridgeline Wranglers For maps of other trail routes, scan this QR code Start at Bison Park, turn right on Clear Sky Way then le on Conner Court to access the na ve surface trail to the top of the mesa. Follow rolling hills with an occasional steep, yet short, climb. The first marker is G. Bear le. At the next marker, H, go le again. This por on of the trail is flat and offers beau ful views of the Front Range mountains. At marker I turn right. Expect several steep inclines before reaching an unmarked juncture. Turn le to return downhill. At the next unmarked juncture turn right where you will arrive at Zodiac Place and follow the sidewalk. Turn le on Clear Sky Way and return to Bison Park. There is limited shade on this trail. Be aware of mountain bikers. Restroom facili es are at Bison Park.

5 MEMMEN RIDGE /CENTENNIAL PARK 5K Fitness Route CRgov.com/trails Fast Facts about Memmen Ridge /Centennial Park Loop Trail length: 3.1 miles Planned and mapped by James Kennedy, Troop 260 Eagle Scout Project 2014 Trail ra ng: Easy Trail surface: Na ve surface and paved Wildlife highlights: Bluebird and mule deer Special comments: Connects Memmen Ridge with nearby neighborhood and Centennial Park Explore the wilderness tucked into downtown Castle Rock! Go through tall trees and prairie grasses on Memmen Ridge, then descend to the town on this 3.1 mile trail. This is ideal for a run, mountain bike ride or walking with the dog. Adopted by the 6202 Cycling Club and Civitan For maps of other trail routes, scan this QR code Follow a gentle uphill trail to the top of Memmen Ridge. You wouldn t know you were middle of town on this single track so surface trail. While s ll in Memmen Ridge you ll cross a bridge and transi on to a paved por on of the trail taking you back to street level. Cross the street to a paved trail and you ll pass baseball fields and tennis courts then go through a residen al sec on. There is plenty of shade and places to sit and rest on this trail. Restrooms are available at the South Street field trail entrance and at Burgess Pool.

7 THE MEADOWS 5K Fitness Route CRgov.com/trails Fast Facts about The Meadows Loop Trail length: 3.2 miles Planned and mapped by James Kennedy, Troop 260 Eagle Scout Project 2014 Trail ra ng: Easy Trail surface: Paved Wildlife highlights: Black tailed prairie dogs and bluebirds ADOPTION Available For maps of other trail routes, scan this QR code Connec ng several segments of the Na ve Legend Trail, this 8 foot wide paved loop is perfect for running, biking or an evening stroll. The 3.2 mile route has views of the Castle Rock valley. The educa onal signs along the way give informa on about the area s geological history. The Meadows 5k loop is in the heart of The Meadows neighborhood and easily accessible. The gently sloping trail goes through Bu erfield Park and paved paths in the open space around it. Follow the loop at Bu erfield Park to get the full 5K length. There are benches to rest along the route. Use cau on when crossing the road. A family friendly trail. Restrooms can be found at Bu erfield Park.

9 GATEWAY MESA/FOUNDERS VILLAGE 10 Mile Fitness Route CRgov.com/trails Fast Facts about Gateway Mesa/ Founders Village Loop Trail length: 10 miles Planned and mapped by James Kennedy, Troop 260 Eagle Scout Project 2014 Trail ra ng: Moderate Trail surface: a combina on of so surface single track trails, paved trails and sidewalks. Wildlife highlights: Bluebirds, swallows, turkey vultures, and mule deer This 10 mile loop offers a variety of surfaces and environments! From ca ails along streambeds to cactus on mesas to colorful wildflowers in the disc golf park. This trail offers runners and walkers a 10 mile loop for training and exercise. ADOPTION Available For maps of other trail routes, scan this QR code Start at either Founders Park, Matney Park, Mitchell Gulch Park or the trailhead at Gateway Mesa. Travel over packed dirt, pavement and boulders watching for deer and rabbits. This route u lizes three Castle Rock trails: Mitchell Creek Trail, Mitchell Creek Canyon Trail, and Chuck s Loop Trail at Gateway Mesa. Along Mitchell Creek Canyon don t get too distracted by the amazing views. Keep your eye out for loose sand, rocks, poison ivy, ra lesnakes and steep cliffs along this route. Cairns mark the trail. At the top you ll be rewarded by views of the prairies and mountains. The rest of the trail travels through Castlewood Ranch and Founders Village along paved paths. Enjoy the parks and open space that make Castle Rock such a great place to live. There are several places to rest on this trail. Bikes are not allowed on Mitchell Creek Canyon Trail. There are restroom facili es at Founders Park, Mitchell Gulch Park, and Matney Park.

11 ROCK PARK/DOWNTOWN 10K Fitness Route CRgov.com/trails Fast Facts about The Rock Park/Downtown Loop Trail length: 6.2 miles Trail ra ng: Moderate Trail surface: a combina on of na ve surface, 8 foot wide paved trail and sidewalk Wildlife highlights: Beaver, great blue heron, rock squirrels Planned and mapped by James Kennedy, Troop 260 Eagle Scout Project 2014 ADOPTION Available For maps of other trail routes, scan this QR code This trail combines several popular trails with a variety of surfaces and is great for training or spying the Town s wildlife. Explore Plum Creek, a downtown nature walk, Rock Park and residen al sec ons on this 6.2 mile loop. Learn about the area s history and wildlife from interpre ve signs along East Plum Creek and Sellars Gulch Trails. Start at the Recrea on Center. Hangman s Gulch Trail is a wide, paved gentle downhill grade ends at East Plum Creek Trail. Turn le. Wildlife abounds in the trees and water along this flat, popular trail. Observe from shaded benches. Pass through Fes val Park and turn onto Sellars Gulch Trail, then exit at Cantril Street. Turn right on 2nd Street then le on Gilbert Street keeping on the sidewalk. Cross at busy 5th Street. The Rock is straight ahead. Follow a short, steep climb up Gilbert St., then turn right on Rock Street and le on Sunset to access the back side of Rock Park. Bikes are not allowed on this trail. Head up Paul Hill Trail and take a right, which will take you over to Canyon Dr. If you want an addi onal challenge, take a le at the trail intersec on and detour to the top of the Rock for views of Pikes Peak to the south and Longs Peak to the north. The trail ends at Canyon Drive, take a right. Canyon Dr. deadends at Woodlands Blvd., so turn le. At Rambleridge Dr. cross the street and take the paved trail to the le. The trail dead ends at Saddle Dr. where you ll take a le and head back to the Rec. Center where you started. There are many res ng spots on this trail. Restroom facili es are available at the Recrea on Center and at Castle North Park. You can access this trail downtown at Eighth Street, Wilcox Street or at Fes val Park.

13 CRYSTAL VALLEY/RHYOLITE 10K Fitness Route CRgov.com/trails Fast Facts about Crystal Valley/Rhyolite Loop Trail length: 6.1 miles Planned and mapped by James Kennedy, Troop 260 Eagle Scout Project 2014 Trail ra ng: Easy Trail surface: so surface trails up and around the mesa, paved trails in the park and sidewalks through the neighborhood Wildlife highlights: Deer, snakes, water fowl The combina on of na ve trail and pavement makes this ideal for running, biking or walking the dog. This 6.1 mile route offers sweeping views of the Front Range. ADOPTION Available For maps of other trail routes, scan this QR code Madge Trail goes through prairie grasses and has gentle switchbacks to the top of the mesa then down again to explore the nearby neighborhood. Stay on the wide sidewalks and keep an eye out for blooming wild flowers. This is a great trail for families with older children. In the summer, go early before the heat of the day begins because there is no shade. Restrooms available at Rhyolite Regional Park.

Workshops are two weeks in length, each twice-weekly session is 90 minutes. Tri workshops are scheduled like personal training so they can accommodate busy schedules. Must have three participants to schedule. Price listed per group of three. The Town of Castle Rock Recreation Center now offers Pilates Reformer Training in individual and buddy sessions for ages 16 and up! The Pilates Reformer is a specialized piece of exercise equipment designed to provide users finely tuned exercise resistance that allows one to work very precisely to develop good alignment, core strength and flexibility.
