1 Blanket Glacier Chalet BLANKET GLACIER CHALET START: END: 0600 HRS (PST) at Dose Coffee Second Street West, Revelstoke Early in the morning at the Blanket Glacier Staging Area South of Revelstoke EMERGENCY CONTACT INFO Jami Kruger is the Heli Coordinator and all around CAPOW Rockstar. Jami is based in Revelstoke and is the main point of contact if your loved ones need to get ahold of you while you re at the Chalet. Please have them send an to info@capow.ca along with a title expressing the nature and/or urgency of the situation. Jami can then call the Chalet over VHF radio to pass along the message. Satellite phonecalls can be made from the lodge when required. TRIP INSURANCE Anything can happen on your trip. We highly recommend travel and cancellation insurance provided through Lifestyle Financial Services. Please take this time to read and understand this document before your trip. We will be signing this exact waiver when we meet at Dose Coffee at the trip start.

2 TRANSFER ITINERARY 0600 Dose Coffee Exclusive to our crew to meet, greet and organize our sheet. We will have a copy of our waiver for you to sign Large Breakfast burrito and coffee included Full café if you fancy something further Paper bag lunch included 0640 Drive to our staging area, approximately 20 mins south. Drive along Airport way and make a right turn on Greenslide Road. Google map: Vehicles are left in parking lot (farmyard) Move all personal gear to helipad Wear all ski clothing, including ski boots Helicopter safety briefing 0800 Heli exchange commences If you need to be on the road as soon as possible when returning home, be sure to leave your car last in line for an easier departure Backcountry and Avalanche companion rescue practice Once everyone is flown in have your skins on and pack ready for a full day in the field. All times are based on flying in normal weather. Delays are not uncommon

3 CHALET VIBES Sauna There is a 10 person, wood burning sauna located in a separate building from the Chalet. It has a heated change room and shower with stove-generated hot water. Bring your bathing suit and towel. Water source Walk-in water, delivered daily from adjacent creek. Maybe the best water you ll ever taste. Sleeping quarters The sleeping quarters are dorm style and semi-private with single and double beds. Pillow slips are provided, but bring a bed sheet. bring your own sleeping bag And bed sheet Lodge wear You will need to bring your own Hut shoes/clogs for inside the Chalet and outdoor boots for bathroom jaunts and water runs. It keeps the lodge cleaner and your feet happier. Electricity We use a solar panel and generator for our electricity. There will be enough power to charge cameras at night, but please don t bring any unnecessary electronic devices. And no, there is no internet - just good old fashion fun. Food Included! And always fantastic. The culinary magic begins on the first morning at Breakfast from Dose Coffee in Revelstoke to the morning when you fly out. The first morning includes breakfast and a paper bag lunch. Day to day at the Chalet includes a two-course breakfast with coffee! Plus a lunch spread, après delights and a large dinner. We encourage lockable, plastic sandwich containers to limit waste when packing lunches day to day. **Be certain you ve let us know if you have any food preferences or allergies. Beer Included! We ll be hooking up fresh kegs from Mount Begbie Brewery. There will be 3ish beers/person per night with a variety of flavors!

4 PACKING / EQUIPMENT LIST A 5 passenger A-Start helicopter will fly everyone and their gear into the lodge, we are very limited with space. Skis/Split Strapped together, poles separate. No ski bags. Splitboard together Small duffle bag Max 30-40L. sleeping bag separate or inside duffle if small enough! **No hard bottom travel bags. Normal daypack Max 50L. Total weight limit 45lbs/person. Booze A variety of local Mt. Begbie Brewery kegs are included with 3-4 pints/person per night. If you want anything else: Cans, plastic bottles or wine boxes are preferred due to weight and breakage SKIING Ski Touring Skis (Bindings adjusted) Poles Skins (Cut and fit) Boots Avalanche Probe (300cm) Shovel Avalanche Transceiver Helmet (recommended, don't make us give you disappointed dad look) DAY PACK Day pack (no larger then 50L and no smaller than 20L) Wear all of your ski gear when you fly in and out. Lunch Container Water bottle/thermos (minimum of 1.5L combined) Sunglasses Goggles Toque Sunscreen Headlamp Pocket knife/screwdriver/leatherman (One tool to do it all!) Personal first aid kit Extra transceiver batteries SKI CLOTHING Long underwear/undershirt Outer jacket/pants - Gore-tex style of shell, light and has some water proofing Lightweight down jacket / light primaloft Thinner touring top that protects from some of the elements Gloves 2 sets Thin pair for going up, thicker for going down Head Gear Ball cap or headband for going up, Toque for going down Underwear and Ski Socks Don t strap anything to the outside of your pack for the helicopter trip.

5 LODGE KIT Toiletries: toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, soap, shampoo, conditioner Medications, Advil (personal supply) Towel Bathing suit Lounge clothes (pack sparingly) Hut boots/ slippers Outdoor boots GROUP SAFETY All Guides at Blanket Glacier Chalet are certified through the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG). They have extensive training and many years of experience moving through the mountains on snow. The guides will be carrying special safety gear for the group and in charge of all safety related items while you are on your trip. It is important that everyone understands we are in a remote setting when at the Chalet and skiing throughout the surrounding tenure.

6 CMH HELI SKIING The Chalet was built in 1983 by a CMH Heli-Ski guide, Reiner Glyker, after heli-skiing in the area and realizing its potential. The Blanket Chalet has a shared tenure with CMH Revelstoke and although we share a lot of runs with heli-skiers, there are many areas that CMH does not ski. They no longer land on Castor peak or pick up at the lake where the Chalet is located. All runs facing Greenbush Lake do not have helicopter pick-ups, and therefore, remain exclusive to Blanket Chalet touring groups. The area is CMH s poor weather and poor stability go-to. If they are skiing in the area, they have no other options for that day. We have an excellent relationship with the guiding team and operations at CMH. Every morning the caretaker at the Chalet updates CMH with current weather and conditions in the area. To mitigate overlap, both parties communicate their plans for the day. If CMH decides to ski in the area they will inform Blanket Chalet of their intention at the soonest possible moment. Blanket skiers will inform CMH of their location and must stay clear of any helicopter landings and approach/take off aerospace. Realistically, we re both heli-skiing. We just have a longer trips up between runs.
