2 CARRICK 14 BOCLAIR ROAD, BEARSDEN G61 2AF Carrick, dating from 1925, is one of the fine period detached homes that form Boclair Road. A handsome four bedroomed detached villa, finished in red sandstone and painted render set underneath a Scots slate roof, that occupies one of the best plots on a very large corner garden of approximately 0.6 acres with Boclair Road and Boclair Crescent, the rear of which was landscaped some years ago by P.D. An extension to the property is the sizeable family room at the rear of the house where French doors open out onto a southwest sun terrace and the back garden. 8 Outside, Carrick s gardens are just a delight, are expansive and highly private. They are screened from Boclair Road and Boclair Crescent by a high rendered brick wall that is painted white with black copings and established beech hedging. There are expanses of lawn to front, side and rear, with the side and rear garden fenced and gated to make it secure. There are delightful areas to sit out in and enjoy the gardens and these can be found outwith the drawing room and particularly outwith the family room, and the variety of trees, plants and shrubs are testament to the time, effort and investment that owners, current and past, have put into the property. The design of the garden is such to provide interest throughout the rear, with an abundance of colour particularly through the Spring and Summer months. To the very rear of the back garden is a pond. Screened away from all formal areas is a drying area. Carrick really is quite a house and, indeed, its full scale and size can only be by experiencing it first hand. Shopping is excellent in Bearsden with a large Asda on Milngavie Road and a Marks & Spencer s (food hall) at Bearsden Cross, and, in neighbouring Milngavie, a Waitrose and a Tesco. At Bearsden Cross, there is a variety of independent retailers, including a quality butchers and fishmongers. There are coffee shops and restaurants. It is a great place to live.
