1 IUSY WORLD COUNCIL FEBRUARY, 2019 SOUSSE, TUNISIA In this document, you will find useful information, please read it carefully. TECHNICAL INFORMATION 1. COUNCIL VENUE The venue of the Council will be at the same hotel where all delegates are accommodated: Sousse Palace Hotel & Spa (Address: 30 avenue Habib Bourguiba, 4000, Sousse Tunisie). 2. ACCOMMODATION a. Hotel All delegates will be accommodated at the Sousse Palace Hotel & Spa (Address: 30 avenue Habib Bourguiba, 4000, Sousse Tunisie). Accommodation will be provided from Thursday 21st February to Sunday 24th February. No additional nights will be provided by the organisers. b. Rooms All delegates will be accommodated in twin or triple rooms. You should bring your own toiletries and personal medication. Free Wi-Fi is available in the hotel. c. Damages and additional costs Any mini-bar costs or any room service will not be covered by IUSY. Any delegate using the minibar or other paid services must arrange payment upon checking out of the hotel. If any damages are made to the hotel room the cost of repairs must be paid for by the delegates and/or organisations involved.
2 3. TRANSPORT FROM AND TO AIRPORT a. Airport pick ups Airport pickups are organised for the delegates who have provided their travel information before the 6 th of February. Pickups will be organised only from the following airports: Ø Monastir Habib Bourguiba International Airport (23 km) Ø Enfidha-Hammamet International airport (60 km) Ø Tunis Carthage International airport (160km) You should look for a IUSY sign upon your arrival, please note that this is after the passport control and luggage pickup. b. Early arrivals and/or late departures All delegates who arrive before the 21st February and leave after the 24th February must organise and pay for their own accommodation in Tunisia. Please note that airport transfers are only arranged on the 21 st and 24 th of February. Any delegates arriving before or departing after the mentioned dates must arrange their own travel to and from the airport and the Council venue. 4. ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE TO SOUSSE BY CAR OR PUBLIC TRANSPORT If you have not provided us your travel information respecting the deadline or if you arrive/leave Tunisia later than transfer dates, information below will be helpful to oragnise your transfers bt yourself. From Tunis Carthage International airport Ø Train The airport is not connected to the train network. You can use taxis or buses available to take you to the central train station. Please check detailed information upon arrival at turist information or directly at the train station. Ø Bus SNT bus line departs every 30 minutes from the airport and TUT bus every 15 minutes to the city Centre. You need to reach Central station to take a train to Sousse. Ø Car rentals There are several car rental companies at the airport, where you can rent a car and drive to Sousse. Ø Taxi You can also take a taxi to Sousse directly from the airport. You can check the prices directly with the company or ask more details at the tourist information. The price for one way can reach to euro.
3 From Monastir Habib Bourguiba International airport You can easily reach Sousse from Monastir Habib Bourguiba airport by train. For the schedule and tickets please check here. From Enfidha-Hammamet International airport Ø Train For the schedule and tickets please check here. Ø Bus For more information please check here. Ø Car rentals There are several car rental companies at the airport, where you can rent a car and drive to Sousse. More details at the arrival hall where car rental boots are located. Ø Taxi You can also take a taxi to Sousse directly from the airport. You can check the prices directly with the company or ask more details at the tourist information. Please check here for more details. 5. VISAS All delegates that needed a visa have already been contacted by the IUSY Secretariat and all necessary documents have been provided. In case you need further support, please inform us as fast as possible. 6. COUNCIL DOCUMENTS The following documents of the Council will be available on the IUSY at Nominations Resolutions and statements Amendments Agenda/programme Technical information Membership applications Presidium reports Please follow the link to access all the above-mentioned documents. Copies of the papers will also be given out upon registration at the Council. 7. ACCESS NEEDS AND DIETARY REQUIREMENTS If your access needs and/or dietary requirements have changed since you completed your registration form or if you forgot to tell us about it, then please us by the 6 th of February the latest at council@iusy.org. 8. MEALS Meals will be provided at the hotel: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
4 9. PARTICIPATION FEE & MEMEBERSHIP FEE In case you have not transferred your participation fee to IUSY make sure to do it by 6 th of February the latest. Please be aware that IUSY cannot take responsibility for any bank fees. Below you will find the bank details: IUSY Bank Account Information: Account holder: International Union of Socialist Youth, IUSY Bank: BAWAG Wien SWIFT code: BAWAATWW IBAN: AT Account Number: In case you will pay in cash, please inform the Secretariat by the 6 th of February the latest. In the Agenda of the Council you will find the time slots on the 21st of February that are allocated for resolving participation fee and membership fee issues. NOTE: Please note, that there will be no time allocated for this during the registration. Without solving issues with the payment, you will not be able to register for the Council. IUSY Secretariat will send you the time schedule in order to meet and resolve any issues related to payments. If you do not respect the time allocated for you, the Secretariat will not be available any other time. Detailed information will be provided later. 10. TRAVEL REIMBURSEMENT Travel reimbursement for the delegations that are eligible will be offered up to the reference price stated sent to you previously. Travel reimbursement forms will need to be completed at the meeting and reimbursements will be made after the meeting by bank transfer. No travel reimbursement will be available in cash on the event without prior agreement. In order to receive travel reimbursements, you must submit the following to the IUSY Secretariat: 1. Booking confirmation, itinerary and ticket ( ed in advance to council@iusy.org) 2. Original boarding passes for all flight segments (handed to the Secretariat on arrival) 3. Local tickets, where relevant (handed to the Secretariat on arrival) 4. Your bank account details (please make sure you bring them with you) 11. NATIONAL SYMBOLS National symbols and flags are not allowed to bring or use during the event. 12. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Insurance Please note that IUSY will not be responsible for any health costs incurred during your stay in Tunisia. We would recommend that you organise travel insurance before your departure.
5 Currency The currency in Tunisia is Tunisian dinar. Credit cards are accepted. We also suggest you to have money in cash in order to have no problems with any kind of payments. Time zone Time zone in Tunisia (UTC/GMT +1. Electricity In Tunisia, the power plugs and sockets are of type C and E. The standard voltage is 230 V and the standard frequency is 50 Hz. Climate in Tunisia Sousse in Tunisia during February enjoys mild weather. Daytime average temperatures reach a high of 17 C (63 F) and only fall to 7 C (45 F) at night with an average temperature of 12 C (54 F). However, we recommend to bring warm jackets and shoes.
