1 Wednesday, March 8, 2017 DRIPPING SPRINGS HIGH SCHOOL BAND Spring Tour to Honolulu, Hawaii March 8-14, 2017 Itinerary Reminders for today: All students should eat something before they arrive at the band hall and bring snacks for the flight. There may be no time to eat at the airport so plan accordingly. Food may be purchased on the plane with a credit card. Visa gift cards will be accepted. Make sure you follow all luggage requirements for size and weight limits. 2:00 am Band hall open/students load instruments on equipment trailer/luggage already loaded on box truck 2:30 am Students standing in trip groups for roll check-all participants must be present at this time 2:35 am Load buses using trip bus groups 2:45 am Depart DS for Austin Bergstrom airport 3:20 am Arrive at Austin Bergstrom Airport/unload 3:30 am Group 1 travelers begin check in 4:30 am Group 2 travelers begin check in 5:00 am Students must let group chaperone know if they leave their gate area for any reason 5:45 am All Group 1 travelers MUST be in the gate area and may not leave without permission from chaperone 6:35 am Group Passengers depart on United Airlines #55 for George Bush International Airport 6:45 am All Group 2 travelers MUST be in the gate area and may not leave without permission from chaperone 7:35 am Group 2-45 Passengers depart on United Airlines #868 for San Francisco International Airport 8:15 am All Group 1 travelers MUST be in the gate area and may not leave without permission from chaperone 9:05 am Group Passengers depart on United Airlines #253 for Honolulu International Airport 12:30 pm All Group 2 travelers MUST be in the gate area and may not leave without permission from chaperone 1:15 pm Group 2-45 Passengers depart on United Airlines #300 for Honolulu International Airport 1:50 pm Group 1 arrives at the Honolulu International Airport 2:30 pm Group 1 departs Honolulu airport 3:30 pm Group 1 arrives at the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel for check in: Dinner will be provided for the first night (Pizza at the hotel) 4:47 pm Group 2 arrives at the Honolulu International Airport 5:30 pm Group 2 departs Honolulu airport 6:30 pm Group 2 arrives at Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel for check in: Dinner will be provided for the first night (Pizza at the hotel)
2 Thursday, March 9, 2017 Reminders for today: All instruments including flutes and clarinets must be dropped off at the equipment truck by 7:00am. This will be located outside of the hotel. When you load the bus you must be fully dressed in your informal uniform and have your flip folder with you. 7:00 am All instruments must be downstairs by this time/loading crew will load instruments on rental truck 7:45am All students seated on buses roll check by parents use bus groups 8:00 am Depart hotel for Pearl Harbor: USS Missouri Battleship Must be dressed in full informal uniform 8:30 am Arrive at Pearl Harbor/unload equipment 9:00 am Warm up 9:30 am Performance on the Forward Pier of the USS Missouri 10:00 am Performance concludes/group photo 10:15 am Load equipment on rental truck/equipment sent back to hotel 10:30 am Self guided tour of USS Missouri Battleship 11:00 am Box lunch provided by TMF 11:30 am Depart for City Tour Narrated tour drive through Punchbowl cemetery, National Park, Iolani Palace, State Capital & Washington Place, Kawaiahao Church & Mission Houses, King Kamehameha Statue 1:00 pm Group arrives at USS Arizona Memorial 1:30 pm Visit the USS Arizona Memorial 4:00 pm Load the buses and return to the hotel 5:00 pm Dinner & free time meal money provided by TMF ($15 cash) Friday, March 10, 2017 Reminders for today: Today all students will be traveling in groups to Hanauma Bay for snorkeling. There is a nice beach at the bay for students who do not wish to snorkel. All students are required to go with their group. Pack a towel and sunscreen for the trip. The $7.50 rental fee for snorkeling gear will be provided in your money from TMF.
