1 2017 HAWAII TRIP In This Presentation Pack-Up Night Itinerary Flight Information Hotel Information Emergency Contact Questions April 6-12 CHS Music Department Luggage Unlike trips in the past, we will be checking bags on the flight for every student Your luggage must match the following guidelines, so as not to accrue other fees: Maximum of 40 pounds All TSA regulations for checked bags Carry-On Luggage Students may bring one backpack and purse (or other small bag) No roller bags, no exceptions Put all shampoo and other liquids into your checked bag, not your carry-on Must conform to all TSA regulations Performance Attire Performance Outfit Red Hawaiian shirt (provided by Tempo) Khaki shorts Sneakers This will be worn for all performances (band, choir, orchestra, marching band, jazz) Packing List See attached packing list for full information Be sure to pack travel-sized toiletries Beach towels will be provided by hotel Bring comfortable shoes Don t forget sunscreen! Suitcase MUST weigh less than 40 lbs 1
2 Pack-Up Night Tuesday, April 4 th 4:00 7:00 PM You must have the following: Suitcase Instrument Medications Permission Slip Medical Form All luggage and equipment will be locked in the choir room until departure on April 6th Pack-Up Night (continued) Please be sure that your child s name is on everything that they are bringing with them Suitcases will be checked by CHS security You will be given a colored tag that matches your child s flight color Students - Be sure that you have everything you need for your instrument (mouthpiece, reeds, etc.) Pack-Up Night (continued) Medications Our trip doctor and nurse will be there to collect medications for the trip For prescription medication, please provide it in original packaging, but only what is needed If you would like to send over the counter drugs, please also put it in a baggie marked with your child s name Many over the counter drugs (Claritin, Tylenol, Benadryl) will be available if needed If your child needs an inhaler or EpiPen, (s)he may keep it with him or her, but the nurse will still need a form Instruments Rented In Hawaii Packed Together Checked as Luggage All Percussion Flutes Trombones Tubas Clarinets Tenor Saxes Bari Saxes Trumpets Basses Alto Saxes Piano Violins Day 1 Thursday, April 6th Travel day Early morning flights from PHL to HNL Arrive at hotel for dinner and beach time Day 2 Friday, April 7th Morning hike up Diamond Head Evening concert at the Kapolei Choral Festival 2

5 Hotel Rooms Code of Conduct Students have been assigned rooms Students may NOT be in rooms of the opposite sex at any point during the trip Nightly check-ins and wake-up calls by chaperones All school rules are in effect On-site security All school rules in the Conestoga Code of Conduct are in effect during the trip Any violation of the code of conduct will result in disciplinary referral to school administration, as well as other possible consequences There is a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for drugs and alcohol on the trip Luggage will be searched prior to departure in accordance with school policy Money Contact Information All meals, transportation, and accommodations are paid for in Hawaii You will need to bring money for: Meals or snacks in airports Souvenirs In the event of an emergency, Mr. Nation can be reached during the trip at the following number: Questions 5
