Taking place in the eastern region for the first time, the national Mobility Roadshow on 1st, 2nd & 3rd July at the East of England Showground, Peterborough offers the best possible showcase of products and services to aid mobility and an independent lifestyle. Motor racing veteran Sir Stirling Moss opens the Roadshow on Thursday 1st July, and former England rugby international, cricketer and broadcaster Alastair Hignell visits on Friday 2nd. Since 1983, the Roadshow has been the UK s premier mobility event, bringing together a wealth of information and hands-on demonstration. Whether you have a disability that affects your mobility, or you re an older person needing a little help to get around, you ll find solutions, ideas and inspiration at this event. Test Drive At the heart of every Mobility Roadshow is the unique opportunity to test drive a wide range of adapted and specialist vehicles from major manufacturers and specialist convertors, whether as a driver or a passenger, or you can discuss options for your specific motoring needs with experts. Plus experience the 4x4 challenge or try your hand at adapted go-karts. Conversion and Adaptation specialists You ll find the best choice of specialist companies for drive-from-wheelchair and wheelchair passenger options, plus the latest in adaptive technology. Information Village Take advantage of the wide range of advice and information specialists on hand to answer your queries. Sports Arena The interactive Sports Arena, supported by RGK Wheelchairs, offers you the chance to get involved with all kinds of disability sports and fitness, from tennis and basketball to rugby and boccia. And the ever-popular accessible Climbing Wall is back check out the show from a new perspective! Try archery and laser clays too in the Activity Zone. Sir Stirling Moss Cyclefest This year the show focuses on all aspects of cycling trikes, handcycles, group and companion cycling, all available to try out for yourself. Why not bring the family and see what s available for everyone to enjoy? Wheelchair Skills Training Go Kids Go! will be hosting daily wheelchair skills sessions in the Sports Arena. Specifically tailored to the needs of disabled children, the sessions concentrate on practical aspects of wheelchair skills such as road safety, kerb work and coping with rough grounds and slopes. Spare wheelchairs will be available so that nondisabled family and friends can join in too. Seminars Meet the experts at our free seminars - a comprehensive timetable of concise, informative sessions to answer your mobility queries, such as Blue Badge issues, Air Passengers Rights, conversion and adaptation options, or driving assessment.
