These are not included in TSRGD Does not affect existing crossings can stay until they are life-expired No new pelican crossings Still a far-side option available What is a pedex? 5 Measures to promote cycling Signals High-profile area focus on safety, campaigns Many new cycling measures identified by stakeholders during the Traffic Signs Policy Review Including measures trialled by TfL and others Low-level mini cycle signals Early start Repeater Associated box signs Red cycle aspect on cycle signals Early start signals Cambridge Advanced Stop Lines Signing Lead-in lane/gate at ASLs optional Cyclists can cross 1 st stop line anywhere ASLs at stand-alone crossings Max depth increased to 7.5m Smaller signs for cycle routes Removing illumination requirement for signs for cycle tracks and adjacent/shared use paths 5

6 Elephant s footprints Cycle lanes through zig-zags Elephant s footprints are used to indicate a route through a signal controlled junction Or as part of a parallel crossing Option to offset the zig-zags by up to 2m from the kerb Allows space for cycling through crossing controlled areas 1049B cannot be used within the zig-zag area Crossings across cycle tracks Parallel pedestrian/cyclist crossing: Zig-zags can be omitted from a crossing when placed across a cycle track: Tiger Shared zebra Shared-use Parallel: 6

7 Armadillos and other separators DfT s view: the Zicla/Orca type are not traffic signs, and therefore do not need authorisation.
