With more than 60 million litres of water, the park will be home to more than 100,000 marine animals from across 800 different species. 2 Wet Experience at Marine Life Park - the World s Largest Oceanarium Designed to offer a full day of splashing fun in the sun, Adventure Cove Waterpark is designed for thrill-seekers and families alike, promising an exhilarating day of enjoyment. Offering six waterslides and many other attractions, with a wide array of F&B offerings, the waterpark will be a unique outdoor venue for fun and excitement, especially for those seeking respite from the tropical heat. Guests to the park will feel the adrenaline rush as they zip down thrill-packed water slides such as Southeast Asia s first hydro-magnetic coaster. They can also chill out with friends and their loved ones at Bluwater Bay wave pool, or grab a tube and float down Adventure River, journeying through 14 stunning scenes including a tropical jungle garden and a grotto inhabited by mystical and fantasy-like never-before-seen marine creatures. As the region s only waterpark with marine life elements, guests can immerse in marine habitats, such as snorkelling with thousands of fish over the colourful Rainbow Reef or sign up for an unforgettable encounter with ethereal rays. Visitors will also be captivated by the interactive up-close and personal encounters with Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins, and learning first-hand from our marine mammal specialists about these friendly and endearing animals. 3 Overview Did you know? Adventure Cove Waterpark centres a tale of ancient sea life civilisation, expressed in the waterpark s architecture and design. The design revolves around three chapters of the Volcanic Archipelago, the Ancients, and the coming of the New Age. As you enter the park, you will be welcomed by the mystical winged-dolphins, Guardians of Legacy. Journey through the waterpark and look out for the intricate designs in the carvings, symbols and mystical creatures throughout the park, and spot the zodiac animals wall designs in the Grotto which connects you to the mysteries of the sea. 3 March 2013

4 Waterslides and Attractions 1. Adventure River Jump onto an inner tube and float down the 620-metre Adventure River, one the region s longest lazy river attractions. Taking guests through 14 stunning scenes, including breathtaking vistas of tropical jungles, canyons, gardens and grotto caves, highlights include a surround aquarium, allowing guests to soak in the sights while kicking back on this relaxing journey. 2. Big Bucket Treehouse A brimming giant bucket tips over gallons of fun for guests both young and old at the Big Bucket Treehouse. It is an action-packed water wonderland with exciting interactive water play elements like a cargo net climb, water squirts and waterslides, offering nothing short of a wet and wild time. 3. Whirlpool Washout Get on a circular tube and feel the water rush at Whirlpool Washout. Go for a spin through revolutions, twists, turns and dips before washing out into an open bowl of swirling water. 4. Spiral Washout Encounter Spiral Washout as you and your friends get funnelled into a gravity-defying oscillating tube ride that will leave everyone reeling. So hold on tight and get a grip on this hypnotizing experience. 5. Bluwater Bay Where the surf is up all day and waves aplenty, the Bluwater Bay is the perfect place to play, relax and frolic right into the excitement of a surging crest in a giant wave pool. Waves of up to 2.2 metres high are generated at 15-minute intervals. Cabanas and deck chairs are also available for guests to chill out comfortably. 4 March 2013

Pipeline Plunge Get soaked in a dark enclosed tunnel as you take the thrilling Pipeline Plunge past banked turns, radical twists, exhilarating dips before splashing out in a pool of swirling water. 7. Tidal Twister A crowd pleaser with mild to wild transitions, the Tidal Twister begins with an open flume that careens into a passage of multiple twists and swirls. Jump in for an invigorating tube ride of endless excitement. 8. Riptide Rocket The adrenaline level peaks on board the Riptide Rocket, Southeast Asia s first hydro-magnetic coaster. Guests get comfortable on a two-person dinghy rider that propels them through gravity-defying uphill climbs and sudden drops in just 40 seconds over a 225-metre ride. 9. Dueling Racer Ready. Set. Slide! Grab a racer mat and race down a two-lane Dueling Racer waterslide. Have an avalanche of fun as you pick up speed descending over a series of thrilling dips and bumps. 10. Seahorse Hideaway At the Seahorse Hideaway, little ones can have a splashing good time frolicking in a shallow wading pool with water squirting from whimsical seahorses. 5 March 2013

6 11. Rainbow Reef Come snorkel and enjoy up-close encounters over the colourful corals with some 20,000 friendly fishes. Get immersed in the marine environment and get set for an awe-inspiring journey through the reef habitat. 12. Splashworks Packed with non-stop excitement, Splashworks features heartpounding attractions from free-fall platform cliff jumping, wet and wild rope swing to walking the balance beam, tight rope and cargo net. With a four-metre deep pool awaiting you below, it is a leap of faith that you will never forget. 13. Immersive Experiences At the Ray Bay, guests will enjoy an up-close encounter to interact and learn more about more than 70 rays of over 10 species in a memorable encounter filled with wonder and discovery. Separate charge applies, and limited slots are available. Guests may make reservations in-park on a first-come-first- served basis. Shark encounters and interaction with our Indo-pacific bottlenose dolphins will be rolled out in F&B and Retail Supporting the rides and attractions are six restaurants and food carts, as well as three retail store and carts. Café Grotto allows guests to tuck in to sumptuous delicacies such as pizzas and pastries in a cave-like hideout, whilst capturing the unique murals of whimsical sea creatures. Over at The Bay Restaurant, guests are in for a feast as they tuck into a world of flavours at this quick-service dining venue offering local favourites, Asian and Western delights. A second-storey terrace also allows guests to enjoy their food al fresco style, overlooking the waterpark. And if guests have left out essentials for their day under the sun in the waterpark, or would like to bring home memories of the park, Reef n Wave Wear at the entry plaza is a one-stop shop for surf and swim apparels, flip flops, themed collectibles and more. 6 March 2013

8 Dry Experience at Marine Life Park - the World s Largest Oceanarium Home to thousands of fish and marine life in habitats spanning more than 45 million litres of water, Southeast Asia Aquarium (S.E.A. Aquarium) is the world s largest aquarium where guests will be awed by the fascinating marine life under the sea, journeying through the oceans and discovering the habitants of the vast oceans. Home to more than 100,000 marine animals from across 800 species, guests will not only discover the wonders of the ocean, but also be inspired and empowered to do their part for our precious seas. The aquarium s centrepiece is the Open Ocean habitat, viewed through the world s largest viewing panel measuring 36 metres long and 8.3 metres high. Guests will find themselves immersed in the enthralling marine world, marveling at majestic manta rays, zebra sharks and a wide and colourful variety of other ocean life through this spectacular vista. S.E.A. Aquarium is also home to the enormous goliath grouper and other gentle giants of the sea. It will also house more than 200 sharks, where guests can debunk common myths about these ocean predators. Interspersed with some 50 interpretive panels and more than 20 touch screens, information on our marine residents is available at the guests fingertips. Wonder and excitement abound in S.E.A. 9 Overview Journey through the oceans The S.E.A. Aquarium journey takes guests through 10 different zones, covering the vast oceans of the planet through some 49 habitats. This inspiring journey follows the route taken by seafarers for millennia, where spices and silk were transported from Southeast Asia to the African subcontinent and beyond. The animals they sailed over and the habitats they passed are represented here in detail. 9 March 2013

10 Aquarium Zones Zone 1. Strait of Karimata and Java Sea Visitors will be in awe of the Shipwreck that greets them at the entrance to the Aquarium. Extending the storyline of the Typhoon Theatre (part of the Maritime Experiential Museum), guests will be invited to discover the treasures of the seas. The Strait of Karimata and Java Sea are popular destinations for viewing underwater caverns, wrecks, coral, sponges and diverse marine life. Shipwrecks often evolve into thriving marine habitats with sponges and corals colonizing the wrecks, transforming them into an artificial reef system that develops into a habitat for diverse marine life. Species to look out for: Batfish, threadfin trevally, golden trevally and pompanos. Zone 2. Strait of Malacca and Andaman Sea The Strait of Malacca and the Andaman Sea contain a rich variety of habitats and fauna, from coral reefs to mangroves and seagrass beds. Younger guests will be well engaged in this zone, with the floor aquarium allowing them to view the habitat up-close. The lens aquariums are equipped with magnifying orbs that allow children to peer into the habitats with ease, coming face-to-face with species such as the frogfish, Mandarin fish and seahorses. The Discovery Touch Pool will allow guests to learn more about sea stars, sea cucumbers and other fascinating marine invertebrates.. The Coral Garden in this zone is a cylindrical marine habitat measuring 8m in height and 7m in diameter, transporting guests into a world of colourful corals and reef fishes in the Andaman region. Zone 3. Bay of Bengal and Laccadive Sea The mangrove habitat showcases the large biological diversity found in mangrove ecosystems around the Bay of Bengal and the Laccadive Sea. Guests will journey through tidal fluctuations to witness how these rich ecosystems support the coastal communities, by providing food, timber and protection for dwellers living along the sea coasts. 11 Zone 4. Ocean Journey Ocean Journey brings guests deeper into the wonders of the open waters, showcasing marine species from different depths of the vast oceans. The oceans have not only supported life on our blue planet for centuries, but have long captured our imagination with its mystique and mysteries Species to look out for: Giant spider crab, schooling fish and Sea jellies. Zone 5. Open Ocean The Ocean Gallery showcases the centerpiece of the Aquarium the Open Ocean Habitat, seen through the world s largest aquarium viewing panel that measures a staggering 36m wide, 8.3m tall and 70cm thick. The panel weighs more than 250,000kg and is equivalent to two rows of three double-decker buses stacked atop one another. Guests will be immersed in the enthralling views of the Open Ocean containing more than 18 million litres of water and home to more than 50,000 marine animals. Adjacent to the Ocean Gallery is what is known as a seamount, where the Ocean Dome resides. With a diameter of 6.2m, this large underwater acrylic dome will allow guests to experience the thrill of watching giant manta rays gliding by above. At the Ocean Restaurant, guests will be presented with a feast for the eyes and palate. The restaurant offers all-day international dining featuring a range of innovative signature dishes with a spectacular view of the Open Ocean habitat. The two-storey Ocean Suites are the latest luxury accommodation offerings at RWS. Guests from the 11 suites look out into the Open Ocean habitat and witness firsthand the dynamics of marine life as part of their underwater-living experience. Species to look out for: Manta ray, spotted eagle ray, zebra shark, goliath grouper. Zone 6. Arabian Gulf and Arabian Sea As visitors return from their journey to the deep open oceans, they will be greeted by the warm sunshine and beaches of the Arabian Gulf and Arabian Sea. These regions' warm, relatively shallow seas support a variety of ecosystems, including coral reefs, mangroves and shorelines, both sandy and rocky. This zone also houses the Soft Coral Garden, which is home to live corals. 11 March 2013

12 Zone 7. Red Sea The next stop in the journey is the Red Sea, where clear tropical waters are home to the planet's northernmost coral reefs. Visitors will also learn more fun facts about human endeavours in deep-sea diving. Highlights here include the Gorgonian Reef, Reef Slope, and Fringing Reef. Zone 8. East Africa East Africa is among the continent s most biologically diverse areas, with freshwater lakes, coral reefs, seagrass beds, mangroves, lowland forests and savannah woodlands supporting abundant plant and animal life. Here, guests will also learn how amazing life forms in freshwater lake ecosystems have evolved to occupy unique niches, and are found nowhere else on earth. Zone 9. South China Sea The South China Sea, known for its amazingly rich biodiversity, is a large marine ecosystem characterised by a tropical climate. Mangrove forests, seagrass beds, reef overhangs and soft-bottom communities are found here. This zone features a reef cave where younger guests can tunnel into to explore and be enthralled by huge moray eels that live within this mysterious habitat. Species to look out for: Moray eels, lion fish cardinal fish. Zone 10. Shark Seas Shark Seas will showcase more than 200 sharks of 12 species, including the nurse shark, black-tipped reef shark, bamboo shark and grey reef shark. Guests will get to uncover common myths about these ocean predators, and learn more about their very important role in keeping the oceans healthy and vibrant. 13 Education and Conservation The Marine Life Park is committed to being a leader in preserving the Earth s marine and freshwater ecosystems. Through the display of spectacular aquatic creatures and innovative conservation, education and research programmes, S.E.A. Aquarium aims to inspire visitors to protect our blue planet. For example, the Marine Discoverer Tours are led by experienced Mariner guides and designed to give guests an experiential learning journey about marine animals and the habitats. 15 Education, Conservation & Research at Marine Life Park The Marine Life Park will mark a giant step for Singapore into the realm of marine education, conservation and research through research collaboration with like-minded organisations in various fields such as habitat and species protection, animal management and preventative veterinary medicine, aquaculture and public awareness and engagement on marine related issues. Its ultimate aim is to promote best practices for animal care and veterinary medicine, sustainable fisheries and long-term conservation of marine animals and ecosystems. Education Research Conservation The three pillars of the Marine Life Park Education Dedicated to inspire conservation through education and research, the Marine Life Park (MLP) hopes to transform the way students learn about the world of marine life. Through a collaborative partnership with Sea Research Foundation s Mystic Aquarium, education programmes have been developed to complement the local school curriculum. These programmes are designed for students of all levels, giving them opportunities to interact with marine animals and learn from marine life specialists; making MLP the world s largest living marine classroom. Through these programmes, we aim to: Instill in students the appreciation of science as well as a respect for all living creatures and their habitats. Excite and engage students with experiential learning journeys that foster a deeper appreciation of the ocean and the animals living in it. 16 Learning Adventures 1. Adventures of the Shark A programme for students from the nursery to primary six levels. Students will learn about the various shark species, how they differ and how their senses help them to adapt to their environment. Lastly, it includes an important conservation message to help ensure the survival of a species that is important in maintaining a balanced marine ecosystem. 2. Journey through the Sea Students will learn about the various marine animal species and their habitats, human impact on biodiversity, investigate factors affecting the survival of marine animals and develop approaches to prevent species extinction. The importance of marine food chains and how organisms within a community are co-dependent will also be covered. The lesson ends with a conservation message on how everyone can go forth and actively help conserve our marine environment. 3. What s in your water? Good water quality is critical to the health of coral reefs and marine habitats. Changes in water quality can have serious negative effects on marine life. Students will be able to test, analyse and evaluate the various parameters which are crucial to the wellbeing of marine animals. 4. No guts, no glory Through classification and observation of external and internal anatomy, students will be able to identify various species adaptations, and how these make the various groups of animals unique and essential to maintaining a healthy marine ecosystem. 5. S.E.A. Quest This one-hour S.E.A. Quest allows students and teachers to discover more about the wonders of the oceans and learn more about diverse marine life. Students will also embark on a challenge like no other with educational materials filled with fun and inquiry-based activities. Don t miss out on this amazing adventure! Conservation Research At MLP, we are committed to ensuring a healthy future for vibrant, and sustainable marine, coastal and freshwater ecosystems, as well as the human communities that depend upon them. This is achieved through the stewardship of people who respect and care for the planet. We work to educate, inspire and empower guests to become catalysts of positive change towards marine and nature conservation. Outreach efforts to local educational institutions began in May 2012, and will be stepped up with the opening of our park facilities. The MLP has a dedicated off-site support facility Marine Aquaculture & Research Centre (MARC) which is used for the quarantine of marine animals and will also be eventually used for aquaculture research and education programmes. On the research front, we have also embarked on collaboration with local polytechnics, like Temasek Polytechnic, covering research on tropical fish aquaculture as well as sustainable fish farming. 16 March 2013

17 Marine Life Conservation initiatives The Marine Life Park has also set up an initiative to support conservation and research efforts targeted primarily at preserving marine, coastal and freshwater biodiversity and ecosystems. This will provide funding support for projects and efforts that focus on the following broad categories: Species conservation and research Ecosystem and habitat conservation and protection Conservation-linked applied science. Public conservation education awareness and outreach Capacity building, sharing of best practices and expert knowledge Animal rescue and rehabilitation response to marine, coastal and freshwater related emergencies and disasters Even before the resort opened, Resorts World Sentosa has been supporting conservation and research projects within Singapore and Southeast Asia since Some of these projects include the conservation of trees in the island development, relocation of corals and supporting anti-poaching patrols in the Galapagos Islands.
