This is the 12 th World Pops Meet; previous meets having been held in Australia, USA (Florida), Spain, Jordan, Canada, New Zealand, Switzerland, USA (Arizona), Italy, the Netherlands, and now for the first time in South America. The World POPS Meet and Championships are an unofficial World Championships for POPs and SOS in six disciplines. In addition the 3rd Encuentro de los Siglos will take place. This is the most important meeting for Parachutists over 40 years of age in Latin America. Due to exchange rate volatility of our local money (PESOS), payments must be made by using a bank transfer to an US account, with bank charges to be paid by the sender to our bank (in US Dollars). The Meet Director and Chief of Judges will decide the schedule Our intention is to make best and maximum use of good weather and a daily briefing will be held in order to keep you informed. PRE EVENT TRAINING JUMPS The Drop Zone will be open for training/fun jumps from November 12 to 14 th, but only for small Cessnas. PARTICIPATION All competitors must be members of their National POPS organization. Proof of such membership will be required; either by a membership card or confirmation (in person or in writing) from the respective National Top POP. Each participant must produce evidence of experience such as a current logbook and National Certificate of Proficiency (in some countries known as a License ). Any doubtful cases will be reviewed by the National or DZ Safety Officer. The reserve parachute must have a current packing card as evidence of compliance with Argentina or home country regulations. Any cases of doubt may require a reserve repack on site. Participants from outside Argentina are required to maintain and operate their equipment in accordance with the regulations of their home country. However use of a functioning AAD and wearing a helmet for all jumps are mandatory requirements in Argentina. SAFETY RULES All equipment will be inspected by our National Safety officer. Equipment that does not comply with the generally accepted TSO standards or a national equivalent may not be used. Cases of doubt will be reviewed by the National or DZ Safety Officer for a determination.

4 Dangerous canopy maneuvers, which could cause injury to parachutists and spectators or damage to infrastructure, low openings and failure to observe the required landing pattern without adequate explanation will be dealt with by the National or DZ Safety Officer and may result in disqualification or grounding, in which case no refund of jump fees will be granted. LOCATION OF EVENT Drop zone Centro de Aviacion Civil San Juan is located, at Pocito Aerodrome (JUA), in San Juan Province, Argentina. San Juan is 200 kms north of Mendoza and kms from Buenos Aires, Argentina s capital. DESCRIPTION OF SITE: The Drop Zone is part of a local Air Sport Club (CENTRO DE AVIACION CIVIL SAN JUAN), with planes, gliders and aeromodelling. TRANSPORTATION Arrival by Plane: The closest national airport is: San Juan Airport (UAQ), which has commercial flights only from Buenos Aires (AEP) and from Mendoza (MDZ). For those who arrive to UAQ, we will provide a pick up service (with notice of arrival time) and this transportation is included in your fee. The closest international airports are: Mendoza Airport (El Plumerillo MDZ) which has flights from Santiago de Chile (SCL) and Buenos Aires (EZE or AEP) Arrival by Road: There is a bus service between Mendoza and San Juan with a departure every half hour at a cost about USD 10 per person (PAX).

Cessna (180, 182 or 206) will be used for all other events. JUDGING EQUIPMENT Wind socks and Wind Speed meters Large and small windsocks and streamers will be used. We also will use a 4 meters high wind anemometer with a wind audible alarm Equipment and Staff The Centro de Aviacion Civil San Juan and Federation Argentina de Paracaidismo (Argentina s Parachuting Federation), will provide the equipment and staff necessary under POP/SOS competition rules to ensure the competition proceeds safely and in timely fashion. All Judges are qualified under international (FAI or COLPAR) or National (FAP) requirements Electronic Scoring System.

The payment of this fee is NOT a visa since Argentina does not require visa to citizens of the above mentioned countries when traveling for tourism purposes. The Argentine Government set this entry fee as being equal to the amounts Argentine citizens must pay when requesting a visa to travel to those countries.
