PROGRAM INTERREG ATLANTIC The INTERREG Atlantic Area Program supports projects transnacional cooperationl in 37 Atlantic regions of five countries: France, Ireland, Portugal, Spain and the United KingdomContributing to the objectives of economic, social and territorial cohesion. The overall objective isimplement solutions to meet regional challenges in the field of innovation, resource efficiency, environment and cultural propertysupporting regional development and sustainable growth.
3 ACRONYM TITLE MMIAH RECOVERY AND UPGRADING OF MARITIME HERITAGE, military, industrial COASTAL EA GENERAL OBJECTIVE Development actions recovery and promoting the use of associated goods to military and industrial heritage of the cities of the Atlantic Area, with the purpose of: a) facilitate social use of such property. b) capitalize on these assets to generate value-added activities in other value chains (mainly in the tourism value chain). 4 SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES Recovery and rehabilitation military or industrial heritage sites related to the sea have been abandoned, recovering for public and citizen use. establish a Program prioritized, quantified and valued from actions to be taken in these industrial and military heritage sites, to reach their full recovery and use, and define both the maintenance and operation plans. Implement pilot intervention plans in military and industrial heritage have been abandoned, with a dual purpose: Encourage the participation of civil society in the "ownership" of the new social uses of military and industrial spaces. Include these spaces in urban tourism offer, as essential elements of tourism in these cities and inalienable part of the narrative history of the city. establish a set use planning model and a model of proper management for military and industrial heritage of the cities of the Atlantic Area that is easily translatable and implementable to other similar cities.

ANALYSIS AND STUDY OF THE EVOLUTION OF CITIES ACROSS MARITIME AND INDUSTRIAL military HERITAGE Design joint methodology for analysis and evolutionary study of cities, by a working group consisting of experts historians, archivists and archaeologists from all cities participating in the project. Development of Evolutionary studies of citiesthe study aims to provide a basis for later display to the public, visual and didactic manner, the evolution experienced by the cities as a result of military and industrial activity in them. DEVELOPMENT OF DIRECTORS AND MANAGEMENT PLANS MARITIME HERITAGE AND INDUSTRIAL MILITARY EDGE OF THE ATLANTIC COASTAL Analysis and compilation of Examples of good practice on recovery, management and new uses of abandoned property assets. Elaboration of Master plans conservation and conversion of the military-industrial maritime heritage of the coastal edge of the AA. Reconversion of iron ore loading ruined tunnels and Sherman tank of WWII (Normandy) Elaboration of Management PlansOn the basis of the strategies guidelines set by the Master Plans for the conservation and conversion of military-industrial maritime heritage of each city.

IMPLEMENTATION OF ALTERNATIVE USES AND APPRECIATION OF CULTURAL ELEMENTS AND TOURIST HERITAGE After completing the Management Plans, the participating cities will select pilot intervention plans on part or all of its industrial and military heritage, which will focus on at least one of the following areas of intervention: Interventions for implementation alternative uses of military and industrial heritage assetsto facilitate the participation of civil society in civic "ownership" of these spaces. Interventions valorization of this heritagewith a view to inclusion in other value chains (urban and cultural tourism in the participating cities). As well as demonstration projects on the importance of heritage (dramatization of historical events that occurred around these spaces, etc.) figurehead at Devonport (Plymouth)

POSITIONING OF HERITAGE TOURISM AND INDUSTRIAL MILITARY MARITIME COASTAL EDGE OF THE ATLANTIC Design and creation of a joint tourism product around the Military Maritime Heritage and Industrialthe Atlantic coastline, without losing sight of the diversity of options offered by each of the cities. To facilitate the diffusion of the tourist product will develop apromotional video for the whole territory and heritage MMI. Development of Smart Tourism on the Atlantic coastline: dump all the information gathered in evolutionary studies of cities in applications and / or web products that function as tools to support its tourism diffusion (development apps multilingual mobile) Organization of Fam Trips to promote the tourism product. Organization of Press Trips with visits to each of the cities / regions participating. Maritime Museum (The Rochelle)

11 EXPECTED RESULTS 1 evolutionary study of cities through its military-industrial maritime heritage and its influence on urban and social development 1 Plan Management Director and obsolete assets in each participating country in the project 3 Cultural products created from historical recreation and 9 demonstration projects on the importance of heritage, using techniques such as the dramatization of historical events that occurred around these spaces Intervention in an asset in each city to valorize sustainability criteria and incorporate it into the tourism offer. 8 Military Maritime infrastructure and / or industrial missing or ruined recovered by modeling. 1 app and / or web with tourist information for the recovery of maritime, industrial and military heritage of the coast of the Atlantic Area, aimed at developing heritage routes on the coastal edge of the Atlantic Area 1 tourist product set to enhance the Atlantic coastal edge. Increased tourism in the coastal edge of the Atlantic. Increased number of tourists in the participating territories 4 Fam Trips organized with at least 5 tour operators of the five countries involved in each. 5 Press Trips organized with at least 10 media organizations and invited prescribers press trip to each of the five countries.
12 EXPECTED EFFECTS Increased economic development in coastal cities of the Atlantic Area through the promotion of cultural tourism. Recovery of "historical memory" that keep goods and equipment that make up the maritime, industrial and military heritage of the cities of the Atlantic Area. Strengthening Atlantic identity of the coastal towns that are part of the Atlantic Area. Recovery and enhancement of maritime, military and industrial heritage left with sustainability criteria, respecting its essence, with a common and homogeneous pattern in the coastal cities of the Atlantic Area. Regeneration of urban areas of cities where these abandoned assets. Expansion of innovative solutions for the valorization of military and industrial heritage through historical recreation and cultural tourism of all elements of that heritage. Improve public perception of maritime, military and industrial heritage.
