4 Corporate Social Responsibility and Social Climate Social acceptance to operate during the various stages of a mining project is an integral part of operating during all stages: exploration, exploitation and closure Candente Corporate Social Responsibility policies and programs include: Regular communication with various members of the Community regarding their concerns and needs as well as our activities and objectives Social and Sustainable Development projects and alliances with Local and International Non Governmental Organizations ( NGOs ) committed to improving the lives of families in under-developed regions The Company considers these initiatives as a foundation for building a positive and mutually beneficial long-term relationship with the various stakeholders in the project 4

12 Public Relations and Community Communications Materials Communication materials and workshops are essential for the public to understand the social, environmental and other aspects of the Cañariaco Project Clarifying the principles of Convenio 169 of the UN framework of Indigenous human rights, and how the company s practices and agreements respect these rights 12

13 Committee Manages Candente Funds As part of the Surface Rights Access Agreement signed with the Community of Cañaris, Candente agreed to provide US$ 533,000 over 3 years for Social and Development projects The funds are managed by a Committee of Administration, comprised of 6 members: 3 from community, 2 from Candente, and 1 from the local University of Santo Toribio Mogrovejo whom presides the Committee For 2014, the Committee to date has approved approximately US$ 131,000 in themes of Public Investment Management and Territorial Development, in partnership with the Municipality of Cañaris 13

15 The PCM Table of Development and Dialogue In January of 2013, the PCM established a table of Development and Public Investment with funding of US$56M to increase public services in Cañaris Participating stakeholders includes representatives of the Community of Cañaris, local and regional governments, as well as central government Ministries (Housing, Transportation, Education, Health, Energy and Mines, and Environment) 15

16 Technical Support and Facilitation in Public Investment Management Candente works in alliance with the Municipality of Cañaris, Community leaders and the Ministry of Economy and Finance to secure central government investment in sanitation, potable water, irrigation and transportation infrastructure and educational services Strengthening communications between the Municipality and Ministry of Economy and Finance 16

18 Outcomes of Candente s Partnership with Municipality 2 Irrigation projects approved by the Ministry of Agriculture with a total value of more than US$9M, will benefit 4,200 community members, and irrigate 2,900 hectares The Committee of Administration is co-financing with the Municipality of Cañaris engineering studies for potable water systems for the 5 largest population centers in Cañaris 18

22 The Coffee Project 2011 with Pro-A, the producers formed the Association of Ecological Producers of Cañaris 2014 the association has 280 members 250 members participating in the Organic certification process with IMO (EU organic cert standards for non EU countries) 150 members participating in the Agro-Ideas application process 2013, the Association bought and sold more than 43,000 kg of coffee, with a return to the members of more than $87,500 22
